Nice coffee, food and service in pleasant surroundings. The town is a little small but has a very old church with interesting Norman architecture.

Really needs a vibrant pub at the front of it to make it work. Very souless which is a shame as so much effort has gone into the place. Food was insanely priced. We live in London and still balked at £40 for a main. Some of the dishes were great, some good and one very poor (poached Cod). Really not nice. Service was friendly and polite. I hope this place works long-term. Would be so nice to see a pub at the front, a more reasonable menu and better atmosphere (roaring log fire? Dimmer lighting?)

Family of four visited today and we had the most tasty roast dinners. Generous portions and a great selection of vegetables. The Yorkshire puddings were huge! Service was excellent so we came away very happy. Will definitely be back very soon.

On the last day of our holiday near Chew Magna, we decided to have a brunch before the long trip home. We’d spied Moon Dance a few times during our stay so vowed to go there. There was a long list of coffees, teas and other drinks to choose from. I had a Chai Latte which was perfect and chose eggs hollandaise (eggs Benedict). The eggs were perfectly poached; round with a soft yolk. We couldn’t resist the cakes and there’s an amazing choice. I had the rhubarb crumble blondie, so gorgeous I could’ve eaten two!. The staff are friendly , the atmosphere relaxed I highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Chew Moos has fantastic quality ice cream in a place which entertained children. There is a playground with a fort and slide where the kids can play. There's some small push along vehicles and a track for them. There's a football goal where they can run off some steam. There's picnic tables and a nearby toilet. There are some goats and pigs and small horses to look at. There's parking for about 12 cars. The ice cream is of amazing quality. The flavours are rich and sweet and use their own creamy milk. Outstanding for me was their plain Guernsey milk ice cream which was smooth and had an incredible glamour, though they had many others to choose from including chocolate, strawberry, dark cherry and chocolate, limoncello, bubblegum, marshmallow. You can buy their creamy milk from their vending machine, though it should be noted that if you haven't brought your own bottle it's £2 for a glass bottle. This is a lovely place to visit for good quality ice cream, and kids will be entertained by the other things too

My Great, Great, Great, Great, Great Grandfather Edward Blibie was the Landlord of this pub back in the 1700s. I’d imagine it’s changed a bit these days. Gonna have to stop by for a pint and see for myself one of these days.

I’ve being going to Salt & Malt for years, so appreciate the standard & have always accepted “ you get what you pay for”. However standards have notably slipped & it wasn’t worth the extra. Lemon garnish has gone & TINY portion of chips - Paid for as “large cod & chips”. It’s notably gone down hill when it used to be the best. :(
