The best restaurants in South East

Had lunch with a family of five - everything was perfect. We had Prawn Tempura and a large selection of Sushi and Sashimi. This place offers a variety of more adventurous Japanese and Korean food, and that makes it stand out from many other places, where the selection is more mainstream. Jasmine Tea was excellent, too, and the staff was attentive and friendly. I enjoy Sushi restaurants wherever I go, and this one's outstanding.

Wonderful quality for a huge family order with lots of variety - all delicious! We had a group of 15 with varying tastes and everyone was really happy with what they had, the fish was beautifully cooked and great chips too.

I was luck enough to get 2 seat at the ‘pay what you want’ evening. I can honestly say it did not disappoint! 8 individuals sat round a table, enjoying wonderful food. A brilliant concept! Each dish was carefully thought out and tasted insane. Alex and Laurel were easily able to cater for my gf needs along with the normal secret menu! I will be ordering take out soon so I can share their amazing food with my Husand. Checkout their website and get your name in the hat for one of these brilliant evenings!! I've been going regularly to this pop-up stall for the last 5+ years. It is one of my favourite places in Basingstoke to grab something to eat...it's just a shame it is only around on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I would probably go here far more often if was open all week. Highly recommended if you catch them in town. This is definitely THE place for Thai food in Basingstoke...I haven't seen anything this good since Kwai 2 closed down in Lychpit. It is authentic Thai food with great variety of choice. I will usually buy some Moo Ping (pork skewers), chicken satay or fish cakes if I am after a bite of lunch; I buy the Chicken Massaman if I want to buy something for dinner. The aromatic and natural flavours are definitely different (in a good way) from the Asian "chain" eateries in Festival Place. It's as authentic as it gets. The servings are very generous and prices represent value for money...they could put the prices up a bit and it would still be decent. They only take cash so you need to come prepared...the only cash I have around in my room is literally just a fund for this place. The only downside is that there is often a 5-10 minute wait to be served as they are very busy. I think this is a combination of them being very popular but also service being relatively slow. I have sometimes baulked at the queue and regrettably had to eat somewhere else due to time constraints.

We had a quick stroll near the castle and stopped by this place because it was full and thought that this must be good. We only had a short time, so just ordered tea and a muffin, the food in the display looked decent enough.

Danny serves great food and the service is also excellent. It's also very good value for money. Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic place for a drink, so much choice, from a beer to a cocktail to a selection of Whiskys, there's something for everyone. Lovely ambience and skilled staff.

Had a wonderful afternoon tea here today, was surprised for my partner, the homemade cakes were delicious and massive slices unfortunately I couldn't eat all my apple and cinnamon cake as too full but would thoroughly recommend, scones and sandwiches brilliant. Prices very reasonable and staff were very welcoming and attentive to everyone there. We will return. Thank you

Best pizza in the area ..!! YUMOLA - we just had a selection of pizza and “new dips” and all were absolutely awesome..!! 10/10 delicious fresh ingredients cooked to perfection.
