Hoogly Tea Lodge in Brighton and Hove

Our first visit and definitely not our last visit. Hoogly catered for our family including baby and they also allowed dogs. The layout is spacious and stylish. Great service, great food and of course great tea and coffee 😀 This made our Sunday

We visited Hoogly for the first time today and it was superb in every way, from the warm welcome to the cleanliness and coziness to the food and drink. We had their Assam and Darjeeling paired with apple and chocolate-raspberry cakes which made for a perfect match. This is a great discovery hidden away down a quiet road but seemingly nicely busy so clearly word has got around. We can’t wait to return for more of their English-Scandi menu and possibly some of the events. Highly recommended! Note to owners—instead of a blanket 5 mins for brewing teas, I’d suggest bespoke timings. Darjeeling definitely works better with less!

Really nice herbal teas of great quality. Cosy and chilled spot to have a tea or coffee with sofa at the back as well. Cooked breakfast was good size with vegan and veggie options available. Staff are welcoming and attentive.

I love this Tea Lodge, it is so welcoming and comfortable. The food is always good and the staff friendly and helpful. We met up with family for brunch yesterday as it's our favourite place for a gathering when in the area. There is so much on offer apart from good, healthy food, if I lived nearby I would definitely be a regular!

I am a tea obsessive and Hoogly is my absolute fave!! You’ll find blends that just don’t compare to any others. And their tea lodge by Preston Park is such a lovely spot. A very hygge vibe as you would expect; warm welcoming staff and a well put together food menu too. Great flavours, all very fresh and good portion sizes. My two children really enjoyed our visit and even tucked in to the tea tasting menu! One of the best places in Brighton I have been to.

Shut the front door!!! I was so impressed with Hoogly. Whats not to like?. Crispy gooey toasties and delicious cold beer. Tina and Paul have created such a beautiful space for people to relax in. Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s brilliant!! If I lived near by. I’d come by every single day!!! Xx

I was wondering where to get some lunch the other day but didn't need to think for long. Hoogly of course! Their toasties are divine and come with a nice side helping of salad and crisps. Filling and balanced. I'd like to try the other dishes on the menu but I just can't get past the toastie. The coffee is great too. I like that they do games evenings and other events too. It's a great venue and the staff are really welcoming. Thank you!

Have reviewed before but needed to update as it just gets better. The social events are fabulous. And the pizzas are truly amazing. Wonderful staff who always provide incredible service. A wonderful happy and always friendly place to visit.

Fabulous. Fabulous food, fabulous staff, always a lovely friendly welcome. And an amazing selection of teas to suit every taste. Very enjoyable evening events on a frequent/regular basis. Why would you go to Costa when you can go to Hoogly?

I chose Hoogly for my"special" birthday party...and it didn't disappoint. All the guests commented on the great, laid-back ambience as well as the wonderful hosting by the whole team. Thank you, Tina and team for making it a really memorable occasion. I'll be back!

Being of Danish descent, this was a great online find for our company Xmas Party. Timeline to respond is often indicative of the service, so I was optimistic that within 5 minutes of emailing my enquiry, I had an reply and was able to visit within 3 days; we had the entire event details confirmed within a week. The staff are relaxed, accommodating and VERY hoogly and the Danish food was exquisitely delicious. We were able to have our bespoke table alongside other customers, which saved on a hire fee and their pricing was very reasonable As the Tuborg beers flowed and the Aquavit shots were dispensed at a healthy rate, our party was jovial, high spirited and guests even laughed at my jokes! We will be back next year: many thanks. Skol!

My daughter and I visited Hoogly Tea Lodge for the first time yesterday and we were so impressed! It has a lovely, welcoming vibe. The owner and her staff are amazing - very attentive, but not intrusive - nothing is too much trouble! The choice and quality of teas is excellent - as it is for the food. I would highly recommend Hoogly.

I don't usually feel passionate enough to write a review but I was so impressed with the food, service (Tina and Euan in particular) and general feel of what Hoogly Lodge represents, that I couldn't miss the opportunity to rave about how fantastic my visit was! It has superb European décor throughout and they have paid close attention to every minor bit of detail. The service was impeccable and the knowledge Tina has of all the teas is invaluable; she is a fantastic host and cannot do enough for you to ensure your time at the lodge is worth while. I cannot wait to bring my friends down here so we can try out some of their events they run throughout the week - the difficulty will be deciding what event to try out first from open karaoke to movie nights, as they all sound so good! There really is something for everyone. Thanks again to Tina and her fab team!! Cannot wait to come back very soon. P.s. I hugely recommend the Danish pastry tea & their toasties!!

We had a family get together of 14 ranging from a baby through to grandparents. We were all accommodated with our varied requests, vegan, gluten free etc and nothing was too much trouble for the Hoogly team. When the food arrived it was absolutely delicious, eggs cooked perfectly, ingredients fresh. The drinks menu as you can imagine is tea dominant- the flavours varied. I highly recommend Around The Fire, a wonderful smoky blend that went just right with my breakfast. Can’t wait to go again- and look forward to working with the team to accommodate us fair my daughters naming ceremony next year.

I don't normally write reviews but felt I needed to after a couple of visits to Hoogly tea lodge. This is an amazing place and you feel the warm welcome as soon as you step through the door. I recently visited and had the vegetarian breakfast and it was the best one I've had! I also visited for tea and cake and I tried two of the Hoogly blends and these were both amazing (Danish pastry and apricot blossom) Hoogly is such a lovely place and the decor is beautiful and the staff team are attentive and warm. The difference with this place is the owners Tina and Paul are so passionate and really work hard to ensure you have an unforgettable experience each time you visit. Nothing is too much trouble here. I would highly recommend.

I've been a Hoogly Tea fan for a long time and as soon as I discovered there was now a Hoogly Tea Lodge I couldn't wait to try it. I've had 2 visits now, one was for tea and because it was so delicious I wanted to go back for breakfast. The Tea Lodge is such a lovely space to spend time in. The Nordic twist to the decor has a lovely, comfortable feel to it. I will be returning very soon for brunch with my husband as he is jealous that I've only been with my girlfriends! I expect we'll have some cake after the brunch too.....couldn't possibly leave without a piece! Thank you Hoogly team for making me feel so welcome.

Visited with friends back in June for tea a cake! Fantastic place with a warm and cosy feel. Incredible choice of teas which I haven't come across ever before. Service is extremely welcoming and friendly and will definitely be going back to work my way...

Had a delicious brunch here. Staff really friendly & loved the relaxing, spacious atmosphere. We had a selection of breakfast & lunch dishes plus cakes - all fresh, delicious & well presented.

Excellent new chef. Just had the home made tomato and basil soup with sourdough! It was absolutely delicious!! I’m a fussy soup eater but it just had so much flavour and you could really taste the basil! 10/10 😀

Second visit. Every little detail perfect and well thought out. A supremely comfortable and welcoming environment with superb tea, coffee, food and wine/beer list. They also do special events. Staff are superb, knowledgeable and friendly. A fantastic experience.
