Thai Knight in Basingstoke and Deane

I've been going regularly to this pop-up stall for the last 5+ years. It is one of my favourite places in Basingstoke to grab something to eat...it's just a shame it is only around on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I would probably go here far more often if was open all week. Highly recommended if you catch them in town. This is definitely THE place for Thai food in Basingstoke...I haven't seen anything this good since Kwai 2 closed down in Lychpit. It is authentic Thai food with great variety of choice. I will usually buy some Moo Ping (pork skewers), chicken satay or fish cakes if I am after a bite of lunch; I buy the Chicken Massaman if I want to buy something for dinner. The aromatic and natural flavours are definitely different (in a good way) from the Asian "chain" eateries in Festival Place. It's as authentic as it gets. The servings are very generous and prices represent value for money...they could put the prices up a bit and it would still be decent. They only take cash so you need to come prepared...the only cash I have around in my room is literally just a fund for this place. The only downside is that there is often a 5-10 minute wait to be served as they are very busy. I think this is a combination of them being very popular but also service being relatively slow. I have sometimes baulked at the queue and regrettably had to eat somewhere else due to time constraints.

I read their response to the one and only negative review (from a sad social misfit that leaves only negative reviews) and thought I have to try this place. Food, service, quality and value is excellent. You have to read their response to the negative review......genius!

Went here again today for some different delicious dishes from the market street food stall, huge and tasty starters spring roll, Thai fish cakes and Thai Dumplings all hot and delicious. Mains packed in Chicken pad thai, chicken Massaman curry lots of food in the box, fresh and delicious tasting highly recommended to try!!!!!!!😋😋

If you do like freshly cooked Thai food then you must visit this restaurant on a Wednesday and Saturday. I usually go there on a Saturday for a take-away and thus enjoy my foodie weekend. The food is fresh and tasty. If you like Thai food then this is the place. It is only a take away friendly stall. Try it.

I went here today for the first time, the food I had was very tasty, hot and delicious and well worth a visit. I had the penang chicken curry, a very large size spring roll and 2 x big satay chicken , all of which came to £8. is very good takeaway food and I will be going back, cash only!!! 😋😋😋

Brought some food on Wednesday, food was ok the woman cooking the food was miserable looking, people in front of me had larger portions than I did it didn't bother me that much but I won't be going there again food is very salty making me very thirsty.

Loved the food if your in Basingstoke weds/sat visit the market it's the business take my advice don't miss it

Very good, reasonably priced, Thai food. Very good sized portions. The staff are delightful and work very hard. I usually have some on Saturdays, but i think they are there, on the Basingstoke market on Wednesday too.

Absolutely amazing I really cannot rate it highly enough. Food hot tasty and freshly cooked and the taste is superb. I no longer cook Wednesdays and Saturdays. Portions are huge and ingredients are never skimped on. Meat is best quality and cooked so tender melts in the mouth. Cheerful ladies who always have a smile and such good value for money. Beats all the other restaurants/takeaways hands down. Long may they continue.

Food is great when they make it fresh for you. Sometimes they make noodles in bulk qty and then you mayn't get the same taste.

I've now had food from Thai Knight several times from their market stall . It never fails to provide fresh, tasty food at really reasonable prices. It's great to see it so popular and the queues of hungry customers week after week. Run by friendly people who seem to really enjoy cooing great food - it's a great local business that's becoming more and more popular. Would highly recommend adding a cheeky chicken satay or two with whatever your ordering ;)

Thai knights is in Basingstoke Market on a Wednesday and Saturday, I have had food many times and it is always consistently fantastic. Would now not go to any Thai restaurant as their food is far better than most I have visited. There is a queue at busy times so be patient it will be worth it.

I simply can't rate Thai Knight higher because TA won't let me but it would be 10 stars if I could.

Thai Knight is a regular market stall on a Wednesday and Saturday till around 4pm. All food is cooked right in front of you and then you can take it away. The food is stunning so I recommend you try is for a take way as it has very high standard of stall food and you will fined it at the top of town.

If you love Thai food, this place is worth a special visit on a Wednesday or Saturday lunchtime. Yes, it's part of the market, but it's amazing quality thai food at brilliant prices (yes, sometimes you have to queue, but it's worth it!). The chicken massaman and thai fish cakes are brilliant - and served in very generous portions. Guys, if you do open a restaurant, you'd have at least 2 weekly customers!

Whilst shopping in Basingstoke, having checked TripAdvisor first, I was pleased to see this stall was open and decided to go for the chicken and cashews with jasmine rice. I was not disappointed. The food was freshly cooked and very tasty, generously served in a plastic box with fresh coriander and chili garnish (the box is handy if you wanted to take it home - I wasn't going to wait that long) and either chopsticks or plastic forks were supplied. Service was prompt and server were helpful and friendly, making the £5 paid good value. Recommended, having visited Thailand I can confirm that this is authentic Thai cooking, just a pity that there's no tables / chairs (there's a few benches at Top of the Town) and it's only open Wednesdays and Saturdays, so make sure your Basingstoke visit coincides. I will sample the other dishes next time !

It was by pure accident I passed this stall. However, i'm certainly glad I did. I had one of the best Spicy beef dishes I've ever tasted. The beef was cooked to perfection and the level of spice just right; for a cold December day anyway!

I go up to the Top Of Town market every saturday just to get my Thai fix.Another fabulous meal, I had the Thai Chilli Beef,to be recommended.I cannot believe we have Thai food in Basingstoke that tastes better than any Thai resturant I have eaten in,and I have eaten in few.

The food here is awesome & the prices are great.

Was walking past and the smell defiantly drawer me in...Took a few spring rolls to try ,best I have ever tasted, will be back to try more !

We was walking through the top of Basingstoke town center when the wonderful smell of food drew me in. So much to choose from it was heaven for me. The food was absolutely fantastic the people very friendly and will recommend to anyone.

Ordered a set meal for 10 people to celebrate a family birthday. The food arrived on time, very hot and tasted amazing, I will definitely order again and would recommend to anyone.

First time of trying Thai and was very delicious. A great selection of starters and main dishes and all was tasty and very well cooked. Was delivered on time and very hot and fresh.

A must try if you love Thai food. This exceptional market stall serves up excellent cuisine all freshly cooked. It is by far some of the best food I have had out side of Thailand. Please open a restaurant.

Had a lovely Thai red chicken curry from Thai Knight , so great went back on the Saturday for some chicken mussaman curry. Great food at great prices, if you love Thai food this is the place to go. Can't fault them flawless

This has to be the best Thai food I have eaten,and that must say it all as I have travelled to Thailand on numerous occasions.The food is freshly cooked for you,loads of variety for every palate and the most you will pay is £5.00 a dish.Absolutely brillant value for money.Its mainly takeaway,but you can sit outside as well. Remember it is a street food kitchen,so if it is a cold day its best to take it home.

Just happened across this little gem in the old market in what's referred to as "Top of the Town". Freshly cooked and deliciously tasty Thai food. Excellent.
