Subway in Basingstoke and Deane

Went Thursday Afternoon to Basingstoke Chinham Subway and I had brought 1 Italian cheese and hurbs bread with Tuna and cheese and the guy was English had served me and I had asked him to put on my sandwich tuna with cheese and he touched Ham slice which was not Halal for me to eat as I am Muslim which I didn't want to eat that due to having a pork so he then touched the ham slice but didn't bother to change his gloves so with the same gloves he had touched Tuna and cheese and then had put my salad on and southwest sauce he then served me with the same gloves dreadful for me because am a Muslim at least changed the gloves then serve customers. Wouldn't be visiting again

We waited for over 5minutes to be attended to. There were limited options and after we managed to get our order ,a fly was there to perch on our sandwiches. No apologies whatsoever offered. Very poor service overall. Would not be visiting again

Terrible service. Man behind counter didn’t obviously want to be there.They don’t stock dairy free cheese as they don’t get enough orders asking for it. So they don’t bother stocking it! Not useful if you are dairy intolerant. Don’t bother coming here

I honestly can not remember ever getting a service as bad as in this shop. They guy serving, could not have had a bigger frown on his face, he was literally swearing, rolling his eyes as we we're ordering and was so rude. Absolutely disgusting.

Have been coming here for years but very much less now. Between the slow staff and online orders it's now an excruciating wait in line. Not much fun standing there for half an hour watching them make up orders for just eat. Pity - it used to be so good.

Subway Chineham, Hampshire has had a malfunctioning Coffee machine on and off for over 12 months. Went there yesterday, ordered food and asked for coffee. Told coffee machine broken. I said its not worked for ages. Manager replied were being refurbished soon! There is a tiny sign by the payment point saying no hot drinks. This should be on the front entrance door not by the payment point that you see at the last minute after you order food. The manager is a total tool anyway and has no idea of customer service. The place is a tip. All the outside furniture piled up inside instead of being laid out outside. I expect the only reason its being refurbished is because McDonalds are opening next door. Too late Subway. McDonalds will walk all over you.

Been coming here for years lovely friendly staff who know my order by heart😂. Always happy to help and support with choosing. Only downside is not all tables are able to be used and toilets need a touch up.

As Subways go, it wasn't the best. The food didn't quite taste as it usually does and a broken coffee machine.

Serving customers REALLY isn’t their job! Saturday 4th November 2023 around 2pm I reached the counter as the queue died down, asked for my order and was told “I’m busy, you’ll have to wait”. This was by miss lazy. She was doing anything other than customer facing work or cleaning the restaurant. Miss lazy is rude, lazy and her attitude stinks! Customer facing work is clearly beneath her. Blonde girl, early 20’s maybe, was doing all the work from order taking, making and taking payment, all with a smile, even through a rush, she did it all on her own. Mr lazy, I didn’t understand his purpose. Older than the other two, but really didn’t see him lift a finger, through the rush he was just chatting. The restaurant was disgusting. All the tables were covered in wrappers, crumbs on the remaining available tables, all over the floor. Mr and miss lazy need a kick up the backside!! I’m assuming they have some sort of manager or assistant manager job titles as actual work is beneath them!! Another customer spoke to me about how she found it disgusting that one person was working whilst the other two did nothing. Finally, as we went to leave, last customers in there, all 3 were leaning against stuff chatting. The blonde girl who actually put a shift in said she’d like one of her clean down duties to be the sandwich prep area, which sounded like a fair request as she’d done all the work. Miss lazy replied to her with a middle finger followed by “HA! too bad, I’ve got that one!” This store needs serious attention, as per other reviews

Went there for order dinner take away for my kids it was almost closing time , they look at me very badly when went inside , service was worst ever , they prepare the food very badly like it was for a dog , said bye they never reply Horrible 0/0

tried to buy two sandwiches and ordered off menu. Service so slow about 8 minutes per sandwich, when I said what I wanted in them the girl at the till shouted cant be changed, you cant add. I thought that was Subways USP. For the second one she put chipotle sauce on not BBQ like I'd asked then wouldnt remake so I left them both there and walked out. That's the second time they have been exceptionally rude, particularly the girl at the till. Wont use again, rather drive to the other side of Basingstoke than use thsi appaling shop any more

It was ok but they don't sell the big beef melt don't understand why every other subways sell them even staff don't understand why

Food typical of a subway and friendly service but the eating area needed a good clean on seats, tables and the floor.

The staff is really friendly and they packed my Subway very carefully, it was a Mega Meat and because of the sauce it may leak. Also, it is very good value for what you get, plenty of choices for salad and sauces.

Very run down, toilets out of order, tables not cleaned. Service could have been better. Food was standard. Will try again in the future.

Ordered delivery, was 45 minutes late, ice cold even though it was supposed to be toasted. Wrong items given to us aswell. And you cannot call the restaurant as they don't have a working number.

The mood lighting this sandwich shop has to offer reminds me of the time I talked to a girl once. This time, I also talked to a girl. 5 STARS. I have never seen a diner like this, such a unique concept. Local shops have always had a place near and dear to my heart.

Where do I start ? What an absolute horrendous way to run a business. Turned up at 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon to be closed !! CLOSED !!!. Had a look and the ‘excuse note’ they put up and states staff shortage. I don’t know about anyone else but I have never heard a legitimate takeaway HOT food business to be open between the hours of 10am - 4pm, whilst other subways in Basingstoke are 8:30 - 8pm. This just gives me the impression of either 1 the franchise owner is too tight to employ more staff. 2 the staffs just come to an agreement to close early ALL 7 days a week due to not willing to work. Or 3 just a face for money laundering shop. SHOCKING business management. I shall be taking this further up the authorities to get this place looked into

Good place to grab a bite. Just make sure you go extra cheese and go crazy with the southwest sauce.

Always friendly staff, and the best portion sizes of any of the subways in Basingstoke.

A selection of subs and friendly service

We tried this place a few weeks ago and have to commend the friendly staff. We'd forgotten our masks in the car, so the young lady immediately greeted us and offered us two new ones. The seeded bread and the filling I had were delicious, especially with the Jalapeno peppers, beautiful!

Staff are always so friendly and chatty, the salad is always fresh. Always consistently good and if I ever visit another subway I'm always a bit disappointed as none compare to Chineham (which luckily is my local!) Keep up the good work!

Quant little place was Introduced to it today by a friend otherwise I wouldn't have known about it. Lovely food, reasonably priced, and good service ,👍

Ordered a sub ...as its being wrapped up a manager with long blonde hair and false nails came out and started leaning over all the toppings lifting the pots up with her hair loose and pretty much in the food this was consisotently for over 5 minutes lifting each topping, stood next to her was a girl with reddish curly hair stood slouching over the food with her hair also way too close for comfort. Off putting is an understatement, i said nothing went home to tuck into my food and suprise suprise there is a hair in it ! If management have such little care regarding hygeine no wonder staff are doing the same. All in all dissapointing and disgusting. Wont be eating there again. False nails are a nono when handling food as is long hair out loose. Sort it out subway. Its a sham! £6.70 wasted because your staff and management cant comprehend food hygeine. Dread to think how food is handled when there ARENT customers present !

I wasnt pleased with the amount of salad they put in my italian bmt (literally 4 tiny shreds of lettuce, 2 tomato slices, 2 cucumber slices and 2 gerkin slices) i didnt even taste the salad and was still sadly left hungry compaired to any other subway when i have ended it stuffed.

Took ages to get salad on sub so it was cold after toasting, woman who started sub also came and did salad. Appreciate some of the staff but others were slow

Left after waiting 25 mins in a queue they made my sandwich toasted it then left it on the side for 15 mins. while they made a large order for the person infront the lady karolina stood doing nothing as the other 2 frantically prepare orders I ask if she will ring me up she doesnt then she rings up another order then mine is served I asked if it was warm and she said yes. I took it off her and felt it and said it wasn't and I didn't want it anymore.

Very clean and tidy, the staff were very polite too and got my order spot on. Only issue I had was that they had run out of veggie patties before 1pm, need to have more vegan options or just more stock in for vegans.

Food is lovely however they don't change gloves between each sub nor do they wipe the counter.

Food was so nice. We got served ver quickly.

The vegetarian choices were extremely poor and they included one awful looking vegetable pattie. There was nothing on offer as basic as egg mayonnaise or a decent tuna mayonnaise or falafel. The whole selection looked to be very limited and poor. To make matters worse there was no decent, healthy or tasty bread on offer. It has made me decide to never consider a Subway again.

Love this place for a healthy meal when in a hurry. Staff always helpful although too often forget to include napkins.

My partner and I went in at around 21.30 there was a blond girl serving we was greated with the worst ''I don't want to be here attitude...we began placing our order as the list went on to the 3rd she in a sarcastic voice said "what there's more rolling her eyes the hole way...my partner felt uncomfortable to then say there was one last meal at the till in a huffing manner she asked if we wanted the kids bag I sed yes please and she rolled her eyes again n still dint give us the bag.. will not be returning to this sub way u need to get rid ov her look on your rota who was working this night there was a lovely polite guy with i think I Scottish accent working with her he was very happy to be there working but this girl GAve me the impression she was angry that she was working please and we was an inconvenience been there get rid ov her!!!!

As regular subway users we know what we like and what to expect, but this unit let the brand down on all fronts. The girl serving had a really off hand attitude, and didn't appear to be able to smile, with the exception of at the two men who arrived just before me. Then she went into full flirting mode to the extent she lost all track of what she was doing. Cheese was put on, taken off, put it on again... Two foot long sandwiches took her over16 minutes to make. When that order was finished, she still didn't acknowledge me but carried on chatting to them as they sat down. The other girl working hard in the back saw what was happening and came out to serve. I would have left if i wasn't waiting for my son. When we eventually got served, there were no serviettes and no clean tables to sit at (although the place was dead and had been a while before we went in) I had to use my own wipes to clear the table and the seat. I looked for the comment cards to leave a review, but you've guessed it, no comment cards. I took my coffee out to drink on the way home only to find it luke warm and made with milk that had gone off. Not an experience i wish to repeat.

If you really enjoy subway forget the rest in bstoke. This is the only franchise in which the bread is baked properly.

Popped in for a sandwich after shopping on the spur of the moment. Ordered a very tasty cheese, ham, turkey and tomato foot long which was quickly and very happily made up by the young girl behind the counter. Tasty sandwich and great customer service. I shall be coming back. :)

Great service today! They were rushed off their feet due to the "buy one get one free" 6-inch sub promotional offer and the queue was out the door. The staff remained calm and cheerful and prepared the sandwiches as quickly as they could. Job well done!

Yummy lunch. Friendly staff. Fresh salad and nice soft bread. Delicious soft cookie. I do find this store to be very messy. The floor always needs a sweep and the tables a clean. Also there was a lot of water on the toilet floor. But yummy food and friendly staff.

Came here today with my hubby. Yummy food as usual apart from my roll being a little hard (wasn’t toasted) Unfortunately on this occasion the staff looked like they didn’t want to be there. No smiles no eye contact. Maybe they was having a bad day but it’s not hard to be polite. Tables dirty and music so loud she kept saying pardon

Service was disgusting, I want my money back. One of your employees really embarrassed your company today by showing how rude and disrespectful people can be, them sort of people shouldn’t be aloud in the work place.

I like subway but i won't bother with the one at Chineham again. The 2 girls serving didn't seem overly interested in serving customers. My daughter told them no cheese or toasting when she ordered and was asked again twice but they still managed to put cheese on it until it was pointed out. Although we asked for sauce putting half the bottle on so that it leaks out of the sandwich is excessive. I'm pretty sure the dayglo orange long nails aren't great for food hygiene standards. I also feel bad for their colleague they stood and moaned about who apparently stinks
