The best restaurants in Ascot and Cheapside Windsor and Maidenhead South East

I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching for a local spot to book for Valentine’s Day with my wife, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. John was incredibly welcoming, the service was excellent and professional, and the food was absolutely delicious. I’m glad to have this gem in our neighborhood, and we’ll definitely be back. Well done to John and the team!

As a visitor from Brazil, I had the pleasure of enjoying my first traditional afternoon tea at Coworth Park, and it was a fantastic experience. We were there to celebrate my visit with the seasonal autumn menu. The sandwiches and cakes were absolutely delicious, and our host was attentive throughout. My mum's garlic and egg allergy requirements were carefully catered for, and the food was beautifully presented. The place is lovely, and the surroundings are stunning. We would definitely come back for another special occasion!

Stunning location in the middle of the estate. A somewhat limited menu, but the food is very good. The one minor criticism is that the staff have clearly been told they have to “sell”, which means in mid conversation you’ll be interrupted to be asked if you need another bottle of water or another glass of wine. Four stars for service as a result, but otherwise very good.

Visited last weekend for drinks in the bar. Never been to the hotel before. When we arrived we asked if it was ok to go for a drink at the bar to the lady on reception. She said yes and then continued to type on the computer. We were puzzled as we wasn’t sure where to go so we asked where the bar was and she said just to the right of reception and again continued to type. Once in the bar it was warm and welcoming with a roaring fire. We ordered our drinks and the bar team were really helpful and lovely. The bar man suggested one of his own martini signature creations. I’ll definitely be returning for another. We really enjoyed our visit despite not receiving a warm welcome.

I booked afternoon tea spa package for my partners birthday and it was perfect from the lovely afternoon tea with little birthday cake for my partner then amazing relaxing couples massage. The spa facilities are five star & very relaxing with no phones allowed. There is a steam room, experience shower & swimming pool with sun terrace but there was no sauna or jacuzzi so I would say don’t just come and pay for the facilities make sure you book a treatment. The grounds of Coworth Park are beautiful and we had lovely cocktails up at the main house. All staff were very helpful and gave fantastic service. Amazingly relaxing day.

Was a little dubious after hearing it's under new ownership. Nothing has really changed, friendliness of staff has improved and breakfast items exactly the same as before which is good. Sadly the donuts literally tasted of rancid oil, the texture and softness of the donuts was good but the taste of cheap old oil ruined it. Everything looked clean and well presented but please sort that oil out.

Great standoff and a good looking building, let down by slightly above average food. If they up their game, they could easily charge a lot more but, to be fair, at the moment, it's it's fair price for what you get.

We took advantage of their August offer for Afternoon Tea, it was a splendid tea but marred a little by the manager who tried to overcharge us by over £20.00. This was despite having been presented with an itemised printed bill from the hotel, which clearly stated the correct outstanding price to pay. All was eventually sorted out, but it was rather embarrassing as there were other diners in the vicinity.

Very different to previous visits. My friends and I agreed. Veg rock hard, meat hard, desserts good, wine pricey. Didn't like sitting on the aisle seat - constantly bumped by staff. Back door being used, icy cold blasts of air down your back. Would I go back? Probably not.

Very nice pub and lovely meal I went for fish and chips. Would recommend good value.

I give 2 start’s only because I sawed the barista girl really tried to do her best.She did basically 3 person job. But since they opened the new side of the restaurant the waitresses looks over stressed. This is probably because they short of the staff all the time. And at the same time always busy. Someone have to realise this is going to be worse and worse. If you want to give good experience to your customers you have to work on it to don’t be always short of staff.

We booked a table for six for a Friday evening a few weeks in advance. The staff called me and confirmed that under the new, current management, they were still able to facilitate us and we definitely had a table. When we arrived, the staff claimed there was no record of the booking. I showed them my phone log and they confirmed it was their number that called me a few weeks prior. However, despite the date of this call being after they came under new management, they claimed it was not their staff who called me. They took no accountability, did not apologise and only suggested we waited until a table became available. The Avoid at all costs.

I dropped in for breakfast before going racing as it's only a short walk to the course entrance. Prices are reasonable and I looked forward to a nice breakfast. It looked great but it was sadly really disappointing. My view is that the cafe uses cheap (and quite nasty) ingredients. I was happy with my eggs and bacon but the sausage and black pudding were tasteless, the hash brown just ok (I don't think the cooking oil had been changed in a while) the toast was poor and spread with some very yellow sort of margarine - completely inedible. The sauces were definitely not Heinz (or HP) and tasted pretty revolting. I'd rather pay a few pounds more and have tasty, quality food so it's a thumbs down for me.
