As a visitor from Brazil, I had the pleasure of enjoying my first traditional afternoon tea at Coworth Park, and it was a fantastic experience. We were there to celebrate my visit with the seasonal autumn menu. The sandwiches and cakes were absolutely delicious, and our host was attentive throughout. My mum's garlic and egg allergy requirements were carefully catered for, and the food was beautifully presented. The place is lovely, and the surroundings are stunning. We would definitely come back for another special occasion!

Fantastic location, high class venue and the service was excellent. We had three courses which were incredible. Amazing chef. Let down by awful drinking water that tasted of chlorine and weak, luke warm coffee.

--- February 2024 update --- We've decided to take the gracious offer from Coworth Park management following our previous experience, which they said didn't meet their standards. We were offered a night and dinner with their compliments as compensation, which we extended to two nights in February. This time, the experience was much better. We were upgraded to their Mansion House Junior Suite, which was spacious and spread over two floors. We had a gift waiting for our daughter, a Peppa Pig audiobook kit, which she still uses months later. A bathtub next to a window is always fun to relax in. They addressed our feedback from the first visit. The kids club was renovated and cleaned. The singer and pianist were much better. The Adam Smith restaurant was open, and dinner was amazing. The pool was still warm and enjoyable. Some things remained consistent. The sitter service was fantastic. We felt comfortable with the sitter who runs the kids club and her daughter. Our child really enjoyed her time with them. Both are charming! However, some issues persisted, which is a shame given the previous feedback. The service at the drawing room was still awful. It was the same waiter, and we had to chase her for attention again. The disappointing part was the attention to detail. No power sockets next to the bed. The USB socket didn't work. There was a strong smoke smell in the room from another room. The Nespresso machine wasn't set up correctly, causing it to flood the cup. The kettle was under a glass shelf, leading to steam covering the shelf. The spa robes were rough. Coffee capsules weren't refilled. The guest toilet door didn't lock. There was no coat hanger or mirror on the ground floor. No basket for towels in the guest bathroom. The shower water was just warm, not hot. The service needed improvement too. We had to ask for the menu twice. The receptionist said we couldn't smoke cigars on the terrace, though they sell them (she was later corrected). No one attended to us on the terrace; we had to chase them, and they didn't check on us afterward. These issues could be easily solved with more attention, care, and training. Despite this, we liked the overall experience more than the previous one, so it's a 5/5, especially due to the effort. We'll definitely come back, hoping this time the experience will truly be five stars. --- September 2023 --- It’s a mixed bag. The good: The hotel grounds are outstanding, with vast walking areas and well-maintained gardens. The A/C in the room was super quiet, and small gestures like a puzzle for the kid upon arrival were sweet. The babysitting and spa services were excellent, though the massage bed was a bit cramped for the face. The pool was perfectly heated and never too crowded. The staff was generally welcoming and kind. The bad: The food was mediocre in both selection and execution. We dined at The Barn for dinner, The Drawing Room for lunch and dinner, and had breakfast at Woven (which was unfortunately closed for dinner). Service at the restaurants was mostly poor; we experienced long waits before and during meals, had to repeat orders, and some dishes didn’t arrive as described. Additionally, the music at The Drawing Room cut out for 10-15 minute intervals, which was awkward. The live female pianist and singer was out of tune, in contrast to an excellent male pianist the following night. The shower door was hard to operate, and the makeup mirror was unstable. Our outdoor area wasn’t cleaned for two days after we used it the first day. The ugly: The prices. An espresso cost 6.5 GBP, and a burger was 28 GBP. This might have been more palatable if the food quality had been higher. The kids’ club also charged an extra 15 GBP per visit, which was surprising given the average maintenance of the property (some areas were dirty, and toys and equipment were broken). I’d give this a 3.5 if possible, but I’m rounding up because we generally enjoyed our vacation. However, we had higher expectations from a Dorchester hotel that were not met.

Excellent setting, rooms and service. The whole estate is immaculate, and Ian the doorman is fantastic. We ordered lunch in the lounge but the time between courses and table visits was long. We have visited many times and a very high standard is normally maintained throughout, so perhaps it was just down to a shortage of staff on the day.

We attended the drawing room for afternoon tea. We were seated in the conservatory. Admittedly the hotel was not busy that afternoon but the service was impeccable as was the food and drinks. We are lucky to have visited Coworth Park several times and cannot fault the experience. Our server remembered us from one year ago when my wife had her retirement party there, when we had exclusive use of the conservatory. We certainly plan to go back to Coworth Park and hopefully it will be sooner than 12 months time. Next time we hope to try the lunch menu.

Far and away the best hotel experience we’ve ever had, and worth every penny spent. Thank you to all of the staff who made the stay feel special and took care of everything we could have asked for and more. Particularly Ian at the door and Alex who was brought in for a tennis lesson + Kira (sp?) and Jenna at the equestrian center. Ian went above and beyond for us the entire trip, finding us a few branded mementos to take home with us, hopping on a bike to bring it down to my girlfriend rather than having me walk them down, taking us to and from the equestrian center/dinner/breakfast/etc. He did more than was asked for even necessary, but it made us feel tended to at all times. The team upgraded us to a junior suite upon arrival, and I’m not sure we can stay in any other room but #25 when we inevitably come back. Heated floors, champagne waiting for us, the copper tub, frequent turn down/make-up service; a true 5* room and staff. Meals at The Barn were as good as those we had in London, if not better. A major plus considering you’re largely at the mercy of the on-site restaurants without a car. This is the perfect way to end a trip to London and unwind after a week of walking nonstop. Bonus points for being just 15-20 mins from Heathrow for our flight back to the States. Thanks again to the entire team at Coworth Park, and do not hesitate to stay here if you want a feel of the countryside with a bit of luxury, and only an hour drive from London.

Had the most enjoyable afternoon tea last Tuesday with my Mum in The Drawing Room at Coworth Park. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed and looked after by the lovely staff, a special mention goes to Elliot who was utterly charming and...

Stayed at hotel for three nights and very much enjoyed our evening drinks in the drawing room where a piano was playing with a singer. A very lovely way to end a perfect day in this lovely hotel

We had salads the first day and afternoon tea the second. Both were excellent, although my daughter's pavlova (we are Australian) was not as good as we are used to. The attention from the staff was outstanding.

The Fish and Chips and the burger are very good indeed. The bread and butter pudding disappointing. Why have you done that to this national pudding? it's cruel and confusing. It's been turned in to a french patisserie looking dessert and not a PUDDING that...

Had a pre-conference meeting here the morning of a 3 day team building session. The place is amazing, with service, quality and decor to exceed any expectations. Later on in the evening there was a pianist to accompany the drinks, a colonial experience

I've been three times for afternoon tea and it's still not been beaten by other venues! First time I visited it was a Christmas themed menu and the sandwiches during this time were amazing. From memory I believe there was a turkey and cranberry sandwich...

Great atmosphere, impeccable service in a beautiful setting. Starting with lunch, always great food, the 3 course set lunch menu is always great value. Afternoon tea is also pretty good, but I have had better scones and cakes elsewhere. They have a great selection of...

We had lamb here. Not bad at all. I'll definitely come back again. I recommend it.

A great place to stop for a coffee and a cake. I was out cycling and we passed through Windsor. Located in the old ticket hall of the station, it’s a bustling cafe with tourists visiting Windsor castle and cyclists from all over, stopping here for a break. It’s really accommodating for cyclists with its indoor bike racks, heated glove warmers in the winter time for those who like winter riding. It’s the highlight of a ride when we head out this way

Minis is a small coffee shop on Eton High Street. It’s quite small, so seating may not always be available, but the cakes and coffee are really brilliant. I was looking for a snack after walking a few miles on the Thames Path and found Nimia, just a few m from the route of the path. I had a black coffee and a vegan rocky road. Both were excellent. Because there’s not much space, I had my snack sitting on the benches on Eton Bridge. Very relaxing.
