Stopped here on a whim and so pleased we did. Gorgeous pub with a very cosy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly, and the food was delicious. Two for lunch with pints for only £30! Highly recommend the cheese and onion toastie - grilled just perfectly. Excellent selections of drinks as well. I think we'll make a point to return!

This is one of those pubs that gets it all right! Stunning surroundings Beautiful garden Cosy inside Relaxed atmosphere Great food Wine!! And Beer. Choices galore. And Beer bread Go for a country walk first, or just have a stroll through the churchyard nearby. Then try the beer bread and a glass of something nice. If this place doesn't fill you with cheer and happiness, you're dead inside 😆

A favourite pub for the Morris Dancing community. Great setting, beautiful old "real pub" with a fine range of real ales. The staff are lovely and the regulars, of which there are several, very welcoming. Given its popularity, on street parking can be challenging but well worth the effort.

What a lovely pub! We stopped for a drink whilst out on a walk. The staff were very friendly. We didn’t eat at the pub but the food we saw looked really good. Lovely big garden at the back of the pub too. It’s a proper oldy worldy pub inside. We will definitely be back again but the time for food!

An absolute gem of a traditional pub. Amazing selection of ales and ciders , often rotated apparently. Seems to have many of the original features from 600 odd years ago, lots of wood paneling and super friendly staff. Food choice and quality was good although I hear it can be more hit-and-miss at weekends when busier. Nice big beer garden out back. Will be going back. Regularly.

I meet a friend here every month and it's a lovely place. The bar food is good (OK, I always have sausage ciabatta and fries with their fabulous home made tomato sauce) the range of beers is special. I haven't tried the full menu though. I've been asked to update (again) in case it's changed, and it hasn't.

People have been coming here for over 400 years. I can see why. Step back in time while enjoying home counties conversations. It's a locals local but if you like a bit of history with better than the average pub food then make the effort definitely worth it.

My colleagues took me here for a business lunch. They joked this place was older than the US. They were probably right! In any case, the house cider was quite good. The manu was simple, but the food was expertly prepared. I wish I had time to try the scotch/whisky flight.

Have been here a few times in the past and always have a great experience. They used to have a great choice of menu. Food was always fresh and very tasty. However, on la latest visit a few days ago it was a very limited menu, not much to choose from so we had to go somewhere else. I don't know what happened, but I hope they will go back to their previous menus. The 3 stars I gave for food is for lack of options, not the food itself.

We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food but the interior of the pub was very rustic with low beamed ceiling and high thresholds throughout. The garden is vast with amble seating with grass and some lovely trees and a field behind it. There is also a large patio area as soon as I you come out of the back door with lots of seating and tables.

We have visited The Bell on a number of occasions in the past. Today we arrived and ordered what for us was our usual but on the foods arrival it had been stood for a while. Unfortunately the rare bit had become barely warm so we pointed this out to the staff. A few minutes later the cook arrived from the kitchen to tell us there was nothing wrong with the food. When we asked for the meal to be replaced we were very curtly told "You're not having another you're getting a refund". We have never been so badly treated anywhere and clearly will not be going again.

Please don't get me wrong... this is a fantastic pub. Great menu, drinks and atmosphere. There is only 1 small problem for me which might not be a problem for most making it 4 out of 5 for me. I felt like an outsider and was not given even slightly the same welcome as the locals. I understand that, but being in the hospitality industry myself, extending genuine warm welcome to all will make more of us feel welcome... even of we live in the village next door.

The Bell had a staff shortage when we dropped in for lunch but the busy, multi-tasking staff were nevertheless extremely friendly and welcoming. We chose from a reduced menu but our meal was well presented, perfectly cooked and delicious. There was an open log fire to warm the pub and enhance the ambience. There were 4 cask ales on offer and those I tried were in excellent condition. If you're looking for a great English country pub experience you'll find it at The Bell at Waltham St Lawrence.

Terrific, very old pub; claims to have been there since the 15th century. It is certainly old and in a very picturesque location next to a very old church in the village of Waltham St. Lawrence. Huge price increase which would be okay if the portions weren't significantly smaller than what they were. Sunday roasts are charged at £25 and it is almost like a childs portion. Steaks used to be amazing and now its like eating rubber. Quality of food is very lacking to what it has been in the past. Service very poor, and a miscellaneous cost of £3 added to the bill, not sure what that was, would have asked if I noticed at the time. Will not be returning. Would have complained about the steak which I asked for as medium rare and came to me near on well done. Neither of the waitresses came back to ask and given it took 20 minutes and asking twice for an additional drink probably would have been there all night. The Sirloin is a cheaper cut of meat in comparison to the rib eye you used to sell and the price has increased. The portions are smaller, understand you need to make a profit but you should not compromise quality as no one minds paying more if justified.

Minis is a small coffee shop on Eton High Street. It’s quite small, so seating may not always be available, but the cakes and coffee are really brilliant. I was looking for a snack after walking a few miles on the Thames Path and found Nimia, just a few m from the route of the path. I had a black coffee and a vegan rocky road. Both were excellent. Because there’s not much space, I had my snack sitting on the benches on Eton Bridge. Very relaxing.

A great place to stop for a coffee and a cake. I was out cycling and we passed through Windsor. Located in the old ticket hall of the station, it’s a bustling cafe with tourists visiting Windsor castle and cyclists from all over, stopping here for a break. It’s really accommodating for cyclists with its indoor bike racks, heated glove warmers in the winter time for those who like winter riding. It’s the highlight of a ride when we head out this way
