The best restaurants in Hungerford West Berkshire South East

A splendid town centre pub. Two ales on tap which were well kept. Staff and locals friendly. A separate eating area is available in the opposite bar.

Without doubt, the WORST bacon sandwich ever. £4 for sliced white, 3 slices of tasteless undercooked bacon, and a drizzle of brown sauce. I will feel ripped off until I die. AVOID. Absolute rubbish. Only 1 star because I can't leave 0 stars.

It’s a take away. It was ok. Had better and had worse. Curries a bit watery and lacking in heat ( chilli) but perfectly average

We visited the cafe after a long family walk. Seb was amazing, he sat us all with no issues and got to taking our order straight away! We then received our drinks within a few minutes as it was a big order. Some of our group had some soups and some hot food which had no complaints whatsoever. Thank you to Seb and the team for such an amazing experience. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

Delicious food (particularly Singapore noodles, crispy seaweed and prawn toast), served by friendly staff. My husband likes the crispy chilli beef or crispy chilli prawns. What a great addition to Hungerford - we are so lucky to have this takeaway in the town.

The place is easy to find and has good parking facilities. The staff are polite and efficient. Attempting to review the website before arrival was wasted effort it exists, but provides very little information. The menu was bland, uninspired, and hugely overpriced for what was offered.

Friendly and very helpful staff

I’m a member of an Andover walking group. 9 of us having walked on the Common and along the canal returned to town and lunch. We had heard that the kitchen at the pub is now being run by “Three Sisters”who originate from Thailand, have only been at the Plume for 4 weeks. All of us without exception were delighted with our shared starters and mains which varied with a choice 1 of 10 + authentic Thai favourites enjoyed by all and will no doubt return in the near future. It was quiet on our visit market day, but we’re told by the ladies it’s already very busy at other times, probably a good idea to book.

Why would they choose a business partner that charges their customers £60 with the threat of £100? So disappointed with this venue which is well-placed for family from different directions to get-together. Visited twice: on Mothers’s Day and then the following week. More fool me - the Parking Fine was in the post. No point saying that you upload your car details at the Bar when it’s table service, is it? Second time was an awful experience. Long wait for food. Half of the table received a lukewarm Main Course - two people had finished theirs before the last one was served. Had Pulled Pork and got the squits. Plenty of other venues nearby, so - Not going back there again.

This was horrible fish and chips. Large cod was just a few flakes in rotten greasy batter made with stale old oil. Don't ever get the sausage, it is truly disgusting. A cash only, yep, cash only shop that serves terrible rotten food. Avoid at all cost. Don't say, but I told you so.

Place used to be spot on. Food burnt, not prepared well. This is the third poor meal. Can't believe how far this place has dropped in quality.
