A splendid town centre pub. Two ales on tap which were well kept. Staff and locals friendly. A separate eating area is available in the opposite bar.

First time visit to The Plume. Not to be repeated I’m afraid. The food was incredibly disappointing. Where did they source those dreadful prawns for the starter ! Like little bits of rubber. Salmon overcooked. A very scrappy roast beef main . At no time did a member of staff check that all was well with our meals. It was most definitely a disappointing experience.

On a wonder around Hungerford we decided to stop for lunch. What a great find! Very friendly staff, excellent customer service. Great choice of menu , specials board , and sandwiches available. Nice beer and wine. Food was served to a high standard, and all our meals were beautifully cooked. Definitely recommend stopping here and we will return. Looks like a good local too!

Met a good friend here half way between out homes. Had a great 2 hours dog walk then needed somewhere dog-friendly to eat. Despite the Plume being extremely well decorated etc, they welcome dogs! I had a delightful fish and chips and it came out really quickly. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you to all.

Came for lunch on a windy cold day and was immedialy made welcome by the staff. The good impression was continued by the friendly, efficient service and the quality of the food which was clearly cooked to order - Tapas type food which suited us well. Just what a pub should be. We would certainly return - an ideal place to show foreigners what English pubs are all about! We gathered that the place had been renovated a couple of years ago, so bear this in mind if you knew it in the past.

We had a lovely lunch in the garden. Great chicken burger and an excellent ham, egg and chips. Service was perfect - friendly and efficient. Covid cleaning was very good and we felt very covid safe. Definitely recommended! (Sorry about the photo but I couldn't resist taking a bite out of the burger!)

We dropped in for an early evening meal the first week after lockdown so we had to sit outside. The menu was scaled down and it wasn't very warm despite the blanket being offered to my wife. Service was attentive and quality of food was ok. Unfortunately as all the punters were outside there was no distinction between bar drinkers and lounge diners. So we were subjected to heavy and loud swearing from the gentlemen enjoying a post-work pint. Good job the kids weren't with us.

This is a great historic pub right on Hungerford High Street. The bar staff are very welcoming and friendly and service in the restaurant area is excellent. The menu is a combination of traditional pub food and a specialism in tapas and is of very good quality with huge portions. There are a couple of real ales on the bar and an extensive wine list in the restaurant. Efficient Covid secure measures are implemented throughout.

We've visited twice now and have been impressed on both occasions. Great menu, food and service. We ordered garlic prawns and salt and pepper squid from the tapas menu which were delicious. The burgers, fish and chips and ribs all very tasty and well cooked too. We'll definitely be back.

Popped into Hungerford for a few hours, after visiting a few shops we popped into the Plume for a quick drink just get out of the heat. The lady who served us was very friendly and came over to have a chat after serving another customer. Definitely will come back when we are in Hungerford

Hungerford was missing a 'local' for us until The Plume was re-established. It is now our firm favourite - both for a friendly chat and a drink with regulars and strangers on an evening or for tapas for a date night. A warm welcome is guaranteed from Fluey and Diggy. We're very much looking forward to it reopening.

An English village pub in a pretty village, serving fresh tasty food, where you can sit outside on a warm summer's evening or enjoy the comfort of the bar and restaurant. Hubby ordered skate, which came with a decent amount of potatoes and veg, I ordered the Rendang beef curry, the meat was tender and the flavour fabulous. Compared with other pubs in the area the food is reasonably priced. We sat at the window table overlooking the front of the pub, where there was an array of interesting books to ponder over while waiting for our food. A nice touch. BBQ food was on offer outside the pub, which was popular and looked good. We would happily go there again.

Excellent place very clean lovely staff nothing was too much bother for them service was very good and so was the meal we had, mine was a lovely breakfast wrap with chips my husband had a small breakfast cooked and served to perfection a big thank you to the chef and of course the wonderful staff especially the kind waitress who very kindly opened the disabled toilet for me. We had not been to Newbury for while but we will be certainly making another visit, and of course making another visit to The Hatchet Inn.

After a trip out to Kintbury decided to Google local Toby and quickly booked on line and luckily could get a table. Warm and welcoming staff. Clean restaurant and the Carvery meat all available with all accompanying vegetables hot. Quick service. Left a happy customer. Thanks again.

Terrible service, poor food and small and uncomfortable bedroom. Wish I had never set foot inside. Read my full review The hotel never replies so it is all a waste of time
