The best restaurants in West Malling and Leybourne Tonbridge and Malling South East

Always great food and decent delivery time.

It was opening night for the new owner and we were very impressed. Looking forward to eating there on our next visit. Keep up the good work!

As at May 2025, the restaurant and pub are now closed and a very limited menu is prepared by hotel staff. There is however a chain pub/restaurant within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance

The food staff and drinks were fab however it was freezing inside we had to sit with our coats on would have stayed much longer but had to leave to warm up. Such a shame the log burner wasn’t lit

Car park is very nearby so Roses is handy! Small seating area and friendly staff. We enjoyed a quick coffee/Matcha with syrup. Prices are fair.

We were passing and the sun was shining, the next thing we knew we were sipping cool and refreshing Mocktails. Only £5.50 each so why not? Parking three mins walk. Service very professional and welcoming.

My friend was rejected from entering by the bouncer. Had 1 pint and was driving us home. Claimed he was way intoxicated and couldn’t get in even though he was sober. After that we saw them let in loads of intoxicated girls who were stumbling across the street. Seems like a bit of noncery and the staff need to be checked.

We chose Pad Thai for our monthly restaurant outing with our friend/neighbour, and it was absolutely delicious! We had the shared starter, I had the duck breast, my partner had a chicken curry and our friend had sweet and sour chicken with shared egg fried rice. Honestly, it was fantastic! The owner shared that she has been open since 1997, and we can see why! We also had desserts, you have to try their speciality dishes, including the steamed banana cake. We will 100% be back, best meal we’ve had in a long time and the owner is so friendly! (Sorry it was so delicious that I ate it all without taking any pictures)

Went onto Google to look for a brewers fayre. Castle lake came up so we went. Bearing in mind you have all the big signs on the road welcoming all. We went to go in only to find members of public are not so welcome as access to restaurant is for premier Inn customers only. Maybe you should take the sign of the road and replace it with Premier Inn sign only. Very disappointing.

I need to do this quickly before it becomes irrelevant. I've seen other reviews criticising the condition of this restaurant recently. Those reviewers probably weren't aware that the owners (Whitbread) are closing it in two weeks! Consequently, my review isn't so much about the building or the food as it it about the staff. I was there on business which meant dinner on arrival day and breakfast on departure day. Because it's closing soon, choice was limited so that's not really open for discussion. In reality, I had the same dinner meal I'd had at a London branch a couple of days earlier. This was SO much better!! It really was - and I properly enjoyed it. Nothing to fault in any way. What struck me though was the attitude of the staff - all of whom will be out of work in two weeks - they were amazing!! I can't get over the manner, the attitude, the buoyancy and the general ambience around them. Amazing under the circumstances and it wasn't limited to one or a select few - it was something shared across the entire team. Beyond that, the morning crew were very much the same (though different people). I can't comment on the decision to close - that's a commercial decision for the owners - but if you operate a hospitality business anywhere nearby, slip in for a meal and if you agree with what I found, hire some of these people. You're unlikely to regret it! There's little point in saying more because as I've said, in two weeks' time, it's all over but if this goes anyway to helping any of that amazing team of people move on, it will have been worth my writing!!

Overly steamed/ heated oat milk to the point of it becoming denatured and creating a foul, bitter taste, along with a cup filled a little over halfway. The staff in this branch are inconsistent and are brand damaging.

Fantastic pub, friendly staff, warm atmosphere, definitely come back again. Landlord was helpful from start to finish.

We was probably the first to order at around 17:30 the day we visited this terrible restaurant for our evening take away, the food should have been hot and fresh, it was disgusting!!!! We knew there was a very good reason we stop going here months & months ago but we thought we would try it again, NOTHING had changed, absolutely crap, the chicken balls were nearly un-edible , the chips were dry and the special chow mein was vile, please don’t waste your money.
