Lovely Chinese in Tonbridge and Malling

We was probably the first to order at around 17:30 the day we visited this terrible restaurant for our evening take away, the food should have been hot and fresh, it was disgusting!!!! We knew there was a very good reason we stop going here months & months ago but we thought we would try it again, NOTHING had changed, absolutely crap, the chicken balls were nearly un-edible , the chips were dry and the special chow mein was vile, please don’t waste your money.

Been going to the Lovely regularly for over a decade and never been disappointed - sweet and sour Cantonese style and shredded chilli beef are my favourites. Would highly recommend, has a wide menu and is reasonably priced compared to the overblown restaurants nearby. Service is pleasingly transactional, I phone my mother if I want a chat.

Food not great and the spareribs were only fit for the bin. They only take cash on Friday and Saturday nights, can’t think why!

Our first time ordering from here and not sure we would return. The food was hot and tasty however both the chicken and mushroom curry were in a gravy rather than a sauce.

Had a takeaway this weekend. They don’t deliver and only accept cash at the weekend! Food wasn’t very nice at all. Chicken curry was like chicken in gravy with nothing else in the dish and the chicken chowmein was very dark and tasteless. Looked like it had been cooked in dirty oil. This might be a one off as I’ve never tried it before. I’ll give it one more go at some point, but to be honest, I’m not holding out much hope. A real shame as this place has so much potential with its location and the amount of people that would use it if the quality was better.

Lady behind the counter was extremely aggressive with a bad a attitude, I would be scared to order again in case of having to encounter her again !! Food was awful aswell, total waste of money, most of it ended up in the bin !!

Disgusting! Phoned up to place an order, the lady was extremely rude and aggressive, the food was the worst Chinese take away we’ve ever had. Will definitely avoid in future!

We've just had a great meal from Lovely - hot and tasty we've been using them for years and always had good food.

Liars never again. Worst service ever I hope the place gets shut down. Dirty bins out the back. Rats seen outside. Rude woman on phone. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I will start a petition to shut it down

DO NOT USE THIS TAKEAWAY!!!!!!!I ordered a takeaway at 7 o clock. Told to collect at 7.50 at 8.20 I said excuse me how long will my order be. The extremely rude woman who works there said it’s still cooking. I said really I ordered an hour and 20 minutes ago. She waved her hands at me and said fine I’ll cancel your order and you can go somewhere else !!! I said this is disgusting you are leaving a family with no dinner on a Saturday night. She said what do you expect me to do. Go somewhere else. Such terrible customer service . This was the second time we had waited a long time for our food . The last time we waited 45 minutes after the time she told us to collect. One man had been waiting 2 hours!! I will NEVER use this takeaway again !!!

We use Lovely pretty regularly and really like their food. They are usually quite busy so the staff are often run off their feet trying to answer the phone and serve people in the shop. Never had a bad meal from them and usually ready to pick up in 15 to 30 mins.

So we have just finished our shopping , and we are looking at the menu in the window beforehand, because we remember how very annoyed the girl/woman taking orders seemed to be last time when we chose our food at the counter. However, this same person sees us and deliberately switches all the lights off, so that we cannot read it! Rude! Honestly, you should give your business to people who do not act as if they hate customers, because, here it shows in both the service and the food. Go to Ho Lap House at Twisden way - delicious food and friendly service - or the Imperial Dynasty just along the street - they are fabulous.And the food - yum yum! The restaurant is in a very convenient spot - but only come here if you want attitude.

Our favour Chinese restaurant/take away recently closed down, so we've been on the hunt for a new one ever since and after constant disappointment from others we decided to try out 'Lovely' again after many years of not using it. Unfortunately we won't be using it again. The Lady answering the phone was extremely abrupt and impatient and the food was just really bad, no flavour whatsoever! The ribs were fatty and under done, the salt & pepper chicken was more like chicken goujons and the special chow mein was the blandest/driest I've ever eaten. And don't get me started on the Aromatic Duck, I always thought it was meant to be crispy? Not this one, it was just soggy un rendered fat and the meat was really hard to shred. So, another bites the dust and the search continues.

We’ve used this place lots of times and always found the food nice. Reasonably priced too and quick service too.

The staff are very rude. The food was dreadful, very bad quality, no taste, had to bin most of it. Don’t waste your money.

Put simply the staff are unbelievably rude and unpleasant to deal with and the food is as unpleasant as the staff. It all tasted the same and had no flavour. I won’t be going here again.

If you like Chinese and takeaways. Then this is for you they do not do home delivery but you can telephone your order through. It’s well worth a try if you want to enjoy a Chinese in front of the TV.

The food - just dreadful. No taste and not nice. At about 3-4 mouthfuls and then binned! I have lived in the town for 10 years and never been - should have stayed away longer!

Despite its slightly less glamourous façade, I always find the food from Lovely to be delicious. Perhaps a little bit pricey but still cheaper than other chineses in the area.

We are really lucky to have a great Chinese takeaway in West Malling. Very quick service, extensive menu & great value for money. Located in the heart of the village, well worth a visit or even order by phone and collect!

Haven’t used this takeaway for years but so glad we did - Friday night but not busy. Everything was pefectly cooked and tasted fresh, not heavy on the flavourings and MSG Will definately be going again

Names like "lovely" normally put me off (being British!) but we went anyway and were pleasantly surprised as their food lived up to the name. Typically anglo-fied Chinese food but very tasty

Good, reliable Chinese takeaway. Not too heavy on the MSG and always good quality. Not much choice in West Malling but still worth visiting.

very good Chinese, Singapore noodles awesome, always seems quiet so not much of a wait for the food.

I regularly come here when I am in the mood for chinese, and as another reviewer has also said, I too have haven't had a bad dish.

I have been using this Chinese takeaway for over 15 years, I can honestly say that I have never had a bad dish. Staff are friendly. Shame it's a takeaway only.
