We ordered a take away delivery from this outlet at around 7:00 pm yesterday 4/10 Come 9:00 pm it still hadn’t turned up When we chased it up A woman who identified herself as Q immediately went on the defensive and blamed me for failing to chase up the order ! The upshot was it was far too late to eat a substantial meal without ending up with indigestion! Last time we ever use this take away Far from apologetic staff So dinner ended as two slices of toast And a boiled egg!

First and last time I order from here , food cost far too much and was horrible, no taste and the spicy items were so spicy they were inedible waste of money 70£ I’ll never see again disappointed is an understatement avoid

Ordered food but didn't get it till a hour later so I phoned and couldn't get a refund the food was cold so we but it in the bin and when I phoned they very rude

Do not use this establishment as they Do not deliver the food And when you ring up to complain they will not help you nor deliver any more food End they are very rud

Thought I’d try this Chinese after getting a menu through the post a few months ago. I’ve been on the hunt for “the Chinese” and I think I’ve found it. Can order online so that’s a massive plus. The food was really good. Lots of flavour not too greasy just overall really good reasonably priced food. Will definitely be back. Delivery was pretty prompt and arrived hot. My only gripe is I ordered a can of normal coke and got a diet one but who cares. Food is really good so that’s all that matters.

I have been using this Chinese takeaway on and off for a few years now, but last night was my wife's birthday so we chose to order from here. We had family and friends round so the order was rather big. £186 pounds big. I chose to collect it as the delivery time was quite a while being it was a Friday. When I arrived 20 minutes later the food was all ready to go, the staff in the shop helped me to my car as there was quite a few bags. The young lad at the front counter was extremely helpful and polite. What a pleasant meal we had, all the food was spot on. Every dish was tasty and cooked perfectly. My mother in law who is not a fan of Chinese food even had a second helping, surely that stands for something. We will certainly be making this takeaway our first choice from now on

Forgot the sweet and sour sauce, didnt apologise then tried to give me a tiny pot and argued I should have asked for a big pot for 10 chicken balls- ordered online, no option for that. Food really greasy, sweet and sour sauce like water so went everywhere, spring rolls even greasier and just full of beansprouts and about 4 strips of chicken in the chicken chow mein. Zero customer service skills and fishtank dirty. Must be under new management. Won't be ordering from them again and certainly don't recommend. Would have given zero stars if I could. Lisa

Ordered this evening and 2 Main meals missing sides were cold

Not very nice. Sweet n sour sauce was tasteless and really runny. Singapore sauce was slightly spicey sweet n sour, was just as weird. Chow mein was greasy and the pork balls, the batter tasted weird, like they had cinnamon in. The pork with Bamboo and water chestnuts was nice.

Bought crispy duck tonight for dinner. The worst duck I have ever eaten. Not crispy at all. Hardly any duck for the money. Food wasn't warm. I will never get food again from this Chinese. No stars that bad.

Very disappointing. Food was late, waited quite a while for it. When It did arrive it was cold and noodles tasted very burnt. Time to look for another Chinese.

Order food and went and collected it, when I got home found was missing a fish 2 hours later and still had not received the missing dish. Food here used to be amazing but definitely going down hill and the service now is poor at best

Great Food Great Delivery Drivers plus a 5 ☆ Hygiene Rating.

Tried to call repeatedly between 6-7pm to order, couldn’t get through. Drove down at 7:15 and placed my order. Was told half hour wait. Ended up waiting an hour and 15 minutes. Other people arrived expecting deliveries at 6:30 and food was only just being dished up at 8:00pm! Out of my order placed I ordered 4 Spring Rolls, only received 3. Ordered Set Menu B and the Egg Fried Rice was missing and the two bags of Pork Balls, both overcooked and really greasy. Used a few years ago and service was good. Won’t be using again. Avoid!

Ordered meal via website, nothing after two hours, I phoned and asked to wait on the line, the call was then disconnected after a few minutes. I called back and was told they were waiting for delivery driver but would be sent out. 30 mins later and nothing, so phoned again and was told still waiting for delivery driver. After 3 hours I asked them to cancel the order and refund my money. I was told it would be done Monday and money with me by Thursday. I emailed them Monday to ensure this was done, no response. I waited until Friday and refund not with me. I sent another email and no reply. Will now have to phone them again. Really not acceptable and will not use again!

If you like a dish full of onions then great. A mixed seafood dish with only 5 pieces of seafood (3 squid & 2 muscles) amongst a whole chopped onion is extremely disappointing. I’ve never seen such a thing. A mixed seafood dish this was not. Also shredded chicken was not shredded chicken. More like deeply fried then not bothered to be shredded chicken. Also in a container full of onions. Worst Chinese that we’ve had in ages. I get that times are tough but you ruined both our dinners so won’t use again.

Having been recommended we thought we would try on Fathers Day, wished we had not bothered,phoned our order and told up to hour and half wait, thought OK busy, when order arrived over 2 hours. No bottle of pop for spending over £40 and the wrong rice dish, when we rang the store very argumentative and aggressive, no apology but did say would pay back for rice dishes, but food was just warm and don't advertise something if you don't do it, won't be ordering again as they appear not to want your orders or the managers don't care, a shame.

So I've been going to Oriental Chef for a good few years now but I wouldn't say I'm a regular, using them perhaps twice a year at most as a treat. Today I used their website to book my order for the first time and opted for delivery, I didn't have any problems selecting my order at all. My only improvement I would suggest for the website is giving you an idea of delivery time before you order as currently you have no idea what time your delivery will be until after you've paid and get emailed so it feels like a bit of a lottery. As it happens I booked just gone 17:00, got an email saying my delivery would be expected by 18:06 if not sooner which was fine and it actually turned up about 17:40, the guy that delivered was really polite and helpful and a credit to them. I had a missed call from them just before the guy arrived, my mobile network is awful here so I had no idea anyone had tried to call me until I got a text to say I'd missed it. I just assumed they were letting me know the food was out for delivery so didn't think any more about it. Literally 5 minutes later while we were still working out who was having what the doorbell went again and it was another staff member dropping off a box which had been missed from the first delivery and which I didn't actually realise was even missing so full credit to them! The food itself was and always has been spot on, I've tried a few different Chinese takeaways locally over the years and they are all nice but there's just something about the Oriental Chef which wins for me, the flavors and textures are perfect and these are good portion sizes for someone that can eat a lot! I'm sorry if others have had problems, maybe I've just been lucky each time I've used them but for me I've had yet another good experience with them today and will use them again for sure.

Seriously don’t bother. Placed a £70 order at 5:30 and told it would be an hour. Finally turned up at 8! The delivery person (apparently the boss) was rude and not apologetic at all. Then to make things worse one of the main dishes was missing. We were promised a call back and explanation but received no call. Were promised a 20% refund and didn’t get that either. No way to run a business as we will tell all family and friends to steer well clear.

Such a disappointment! Food was well below average! Raw onions thorn on each dish! No flavour and we had to wait 2hours (1hr late)! Customer service was shocking too! NEVER AGAIN! Do not bother, go somewhere else!

Can't recommend to anyone. Food was delivered an hour and a half late (ordered at 6, delivery promised for 8, arrived at 935 but only after chasing). No communication in this time, called them 72 times before I got past their busy tone. Feel sorry for the staff who had to field the angry customers when the problem was clearly taking on too many orders. Deliverer was extremely apologetic and obviously passed on our disappointment as we were offered 50% refund (after refusing a 20% off next order). Food was ok - special fried rice was boiled rice with sauce hurriedly slopped on top. Feel portions were on smaller side but to be honest after a 3 hour wait I could've eaten the packaging too. Some very blatant fake reviews on this page recently too. Did a bit of digging and seems like there's been a number of problems since new management came in.

Wow what has happened to this once great takeaway and delivery is a joke, ordered 17.11 arrives 19:30 , called to find out where the order is and told its waiting for the driver no wonder it arrives cold, manager needs to sort this out, bring back the old owners.

It has taken me 30 minutes to get through ( I understand they are busy) I finally get through to be told can you hold the line to be cut off. Tried another 20 minutes gave up. Won't be using them again

After placing an order for delivery we had we were told up to an hour wait. 3 hours later it arrived after numerous calls luke warm and small portions for the price. Wouldnt recommend and no apology.

These guys not only make amazing food but they really go the extra mile to help their customers. I recently ordered food from them and had an extra special request from them to get a particular treat for a certain special someone at the shop next door. These guys were so helpful and popped into the shop, got what I’d asked for a delivered it, without question. They couldn’t have been more accommodating. I use them regularly like I said and the food and service are always 5 star to but this time, they really went over and above! Thank you guys, you’re the best!!

The only place I'd ever order Chinese from , the food is absolutely divine and plentiful and there's a great range from the popular dishes through to the chefs specials. Staff are friendly and the service is fantastic , would highly recommend!

Been using this takeaway for years, periodically tried other local takeaway's but always come back here as in our opinion it's the nicest around. Hot, fresh & although delivery times can sometimes be a long wait it's worth it.

We had just come to the end of a holiday and thought we'd treat ourselves to a Chinese takeaway and we chose this one, which we hadn't used before. Never, ever AGAIN. The shrimp omlette was nice (according to my partner), the beef chowmein was nice and then it went really down hill. The chips were over cooked and dry, the prawn balls couldn't be described and the pancake rolls were the worst i have ever tasted from a chinese takeaway. All in alla total waste of £30 , would rather have cooked something myself Will never waste my money here again. If i could rate it less than 1 i would.

Used this chinese for years always like it but sadly now wiv new owners its gone down hill.we keep trying it thinking its not as good because of teething troubles.but tonight the food is slimey and seems to smells funny.the chicken chow mein had about two tiny strips of chicken in it. the ribs are just fat and no meat and everything taste of salt.what a waste of £20 safe to say sadly we wont bother goin there anymore

It was an OK takeaway when the previous owners were there. New owners took over probably a year or more ago, and the food was’nt as good, probably new business teething issues. Now I rate this takeaway as VERY VERY GOOD, the staff are pleasant, order turn around & delivery very quick, food very good.

Don't waste your time. 2nd customer in to order, they gave ours to the first guy. Didn't bother to tell us. Then put our order at the back of the queue getting their delivery orders out first. After 30 minutes we asked for a refund. Asked to wait for "the boss" 5 minutes later our order magically arrived. Food ok, nothing to write home about. My advice is go elsewhere as customer service is very poor here. We won't be back.

Ordered a take away to collect was told 10-15 mins went to collect them sat there waiting for half an hour whilst other people came in ordered and left with their food. Got home with the food which was barely warm and un-eatable so we binned it and got chip shop. We called to complain and was told if we wanted a refund we had to pick the food out of our bin and take it back to them. I’m not surprised they’ve got such a bad review now. Won’t be goin bk there again and I would advice anyone to avoid it.

We have used this takeaway for 20 years or more. I understand it’s now under new ownership and the lovely original owner has retired. Last nights food took well over an hour to arrive and the chicken was so slimey and covered in gel type coating even my 11 year Old noticed and wouldn’t eat. Not the first admiral from here lately so I’m afraid we are in the lookout for a new chinese

We've used this place for 20 years. Up until recently it was fantastic with good service and excellent quality food. Now it is under new ownership, the food is average and the service appalling. We ordered at 7pm for collection at 8pm. My husband arrived there at 8pm and it wasn't ready. Not a problem waiting for 5 minutes he thought, but he didn't get his food until 8.40pm OVER 40 MINUTES WAIT FOR PRE-ORDERED FOOD. They have lost another customer today and we are now on the look out for a new regular Chinese takeaway.

Guy on the till really nice and helpful, a lady from the back came out and said I'd been undercharged and had to make up the difference (50p for peas in my egg fried rice) when I got the food home it was horrid. My spring rolls tasted funny, there was 15 peas sprinkled on top of the rice (definitely not worth 50p) my son did enjoy his Chicken satay (the reason ive gave 2 stars and not 1) but the rest of the meal was below average. Such a shame as it used to be a good take away. Won't be returning.

Has always been a solid take away, used it most weeks for 10years, about 3months ago I noticed a change, have had 3 average meals recently. Tonight the new guy on the phone did not know the ordering system and added to that the food was horrible.I think there may be new owners that will be quickly out of business if this poor service and rubbish food continues. I will be using another take away now, no more chances. Bring back the nice lady that ran it, she was great and the food was good back then.

We have been using this take away for a long time and have always been happy with the food and the service, however the last couple of times we have used them their standards have fallen, Due to circumstances we were unable to collect from the shop the last few times and both times we have had to re phone them, we were given a time slot on Saturday of 3/4 of an hour which for a Saturday is understandable however after on hour and a 1/4 we had to phone them to find out where our order was, we were told it was on its way, and it turned up about 10 minutes later the food was Okay except for the pork balls some were soggy and some were uneatable due to them being solid, can only assume they were re heated in a microwave the rest of the food was luke warm can only think it had been left on the side and was re heated to bring out to us. Will not be using them again as we have given them three chances now and nothing has improved.

Will never order from here again!! A group of us ordered and when it arrived one of the meals was wrong. We called to arrange for the correct dish to be delivered only to be met with accusations that we ordered the wrong dish and that they refused to send us the correct one. We had also earlier rung to cancel part of the order which they took off the order but then still charged us for. Eventually we managed to get her to agree to re send the dish...... but then to our amazement the delivery driver had been asked to bring back the old dish!! This had been dispossed of it in the bin as why would they want it back, he then phoned her and explained and she asked him to take a photo of it in the bin as proof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
