The best restaurants in Great Milton South Oxfordshire South East

As with many others Le Manoir has been on my ‘Bucket list’ for a long time. We finally went on my birthday (4th May) and it was everything I had hoped it would be. We didn’t stay but had accommodation only a few minutes away in a 17th century converted barn. On arrival we had champagne in the lounge while we looked over the menu. We went for the 7 course tasting menu and upgraded to the Wagu beef. We have to say everything about our evening was outstanding, the food was a delicious selection of stunning dishes that were beautiful to look at and wonderful to eat. The staff were outstanding in their professionalism but most importantly super friendly and just made us feel very welcome. It was a fabulous way to celebrate my birthday, I felt like a VIP! We said it was a once in a lifetime visit…. But I suspect we’ll save up to go again!! Yes it’s very expensive but it was SO worth it. Thank you Le Manoir.

Never disappoints but tonight was extra good. Mussels are always lovely. Tonight they were amazing. Best mussels we’ve ever had. So much flavour. So plump. The creme caramel was lovely too. And I’ve got to mention the bread. I avoid really crusty bread now I’m older but I persevered with this. It was so good. My husband offered to eat the crusty bit, bless. I nearly killed him. 🤣Our favourite restaurant after the Manoir. Which we only visit on special occasions as it is so expensive.

Cooked fresh, the cod was beautifully falling off separating into pieces. The the batter was not oily and lovely. The chips were fresh. The mushy peas were excellent. My family were so happy we congratulated the chef. Truly excellent.

Literally had the most gorgeous meal this evening. Staff were friendly, especially the blonde lady behind the bar, who was also checking everything was okay with our meals. Been here a few times and never been disappointed. Highly recommend x

Called in for lunch as we were in the area. A really friendly welcome and able to get a decent wine by the glass … not just Pinot and Sauvignon Blanc. Simple pub food done well. I had a sandwich with a side of really good chips. Very generous portion and didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day.

Scammers. The food was good sure, but they rip you off that the price is just enough that you’ll pay. The pricing is unfair, attention needs to be brought to how subtly they are overcharging people. For reference they now charge £1 for CHEESE

We visited the Oxford Services during our journey and found it perfect for a quick and tasty stop. The place had a calm, pleasant atmosphere, and Claudiu’s warm and helpful attitude really stood out. The pizzas were freshly made and full of flavor — a great way to recharge before hitting the road again.

The Subway is awful! Ages to prepare and they were getting many of the orders mixed up. We asked where our waffles and dips were. The man glared at us. We received one of the two portions and gave up. My Veggie Subway wasn't very nice. Very dry! I have never had a bad experience with a Subway previously.

Driving home from visiting family, my wife and two teenage daughters wanted a snack. Ended up stopping at these services (North bound). It's a KFC, with the screens, and our one was providing receipts, although not all did. Also, the scanner wasn't working so I couldn't get my points. Food, however, was as expected. Hot and actually quite nice.
