Welcome Break J8 M40 in South Oxfordshire

On our way back from a day out what better than a good service station. Sat outside on the porch of the building with the sound of water is very therapeutic (unless you're busting for a pee lol)

Yet again I have stopped at Starbucks inside the main concourse and having paid over £5 for a coffee I would have hoped for some semblance of good customer service. Not a thank you, or please given by the staff who looked sour, didn't smile at all and behaved as if their hearts weren't in the job. This is not the first time I have noticed it - however it will be the last, as I will not be coming back - appalling - Chas

Great for a pit stop, not great at all for charging your EV. An entire row of charging points for Tesla and only 4 points (2 CCS, 2 Chademo and 2 AC) for every other make of car to share and this has to accommodate drivers from both sides if the M40/A40! Every EV driver builds charging stops into their longer journeys but having to wait up to an hour to get on a charger is very frustrating. People won't be encouraged to drive electric if the systems aren't in place to facilitate it.

An abundance of places to get a quick bite to eat. Two regular shops (Waitrose and WHSmith) for those sweet treats. Starbucks drive through if you are in a rush or in the complex. Outside is a nice area to sit with fish (my kids always want to sit out there much to my annoyance lol). Also a Ramada hotel. I’d say all round it’s great all facilities are open and better than a lot of other places. Good work

Went here to use the toilets today in this service station,toilets were clean and really good for the service station and big.Also this service station has top gift,wh smiths,little waitrose,Burger King,kfc,chopstix,subway,Starbucks(coffee shop and drive thru,also you don’t get an ordinary breakfast here at Oxford services you get the good breakfast!They have a good breakfast restaurant here,pizza express(however I don’t recommend for gluten free people).Very clean and nice services.Also has a hotel and petrol station on site.

Only way to order food is via typing into the self service. Take forever for food to arrive. Horrible place

Kindest and most helpful staff ever ! I suffered with a flat tyre pulling into Welcome Break late at night with no skill in how to manage it. Luckily for me , off duty Hermano who is a service leader at Starbucks and Helvidio a manager at the Burger King came to the rescue and took all their effort and time to replace it with the emergency tyre( and it wasn't easy). Truly altruistic and I couldn't be more grateful. Such good people, Welcome break lucky to have them as staff.

Not suitable for business stops. 2hr free parking is not adequate for meetings or charging your car and the excess parking charge is expensive. Xtra services at Beaconsfield is a much better option as they allow 3hrs and parking rates much more sensible. Welcome Breaks policy on parking is not customer friendly, and their Parking Management company is very commercially minded. Limited chargers and the type 2 connection was not working. Much better charging facilities are available at Moto Cherwell. Therefore, it is better to stop before or after Welcome Break as you get a much better customer focused experience.

What a great place to stop off at and so clean and tidy. Friendly atmosphere from all staff. The best services we have been to.

Judged against other motorway services I would have to say this one is above average however low the bar is set. There are two Starbucks opposite each other and the customers in our queue were encouraged by the staff to go to the other Starbucks, only to return later realising there was no advantage. It was hard to see why the advice was given in the first place as neither stores were busy. The two ladies who ran the cafe could hardly speak English which resulted in some confusion since they wanted to write my name on the coffee cup. On the positive the building is bright, roomy with plenty of seating inside and out, a good choice of food outlets with a handy Waitrose store. Toilets were clean too.

Good services; modern toilets in good condition, we got Sushi from Waitrose and coffee from Starbucks. Called in twice mid journey, there and back. Only issue was Waitrose delivery not made so very little choice.

I was expecting a sleepless noisy night, but was really impressed! Its one of the quietest hotels I've stayed at. Great staff who were friendly and helpfull.

There was a lack of signage for the blue badge parking bays and the markings on the road were very faded making it difficult to negotiate the one way system in place in the car park. However once inside the signage was good and finding what we needed was easy.

Everything is overpriced and if that wasn’t enough you then get lazy customer service. The staff look like they are all on drugs wondering around miserable The toilets also stink to the point where if you can’t hold your breath for more than 8 minutes don’t go in Summary 1/10

Had a half hour break here on a long drive and its a usual stop off on the M40 (&the cleanest). I'm writing this review as 20 mins after leaving I realised I had taken my silver/turquoise ring off to wash my hands whilst in the toilets. I was quickly able to find the customer service number and phoned, quite upset as it was a special ring. I wish I had got the name of the woman I spoke to as she must have rushed down and called me back in 5 minutes to say she had found it and I could pick it up on my return. I wasn't expecting to see it again and I can't thank her enough for not only the speed but also just for being really super helpful and kind. Thank you so much

Cool nice tasty guilty pleasure. Lots of fast food places; KFC, Burger King, Subway, Ben and Jerrys etc.. There is also a fun arcade and a WHSmith.

Nice clean toilets, good selection of stores,. Boring self-important jobsworth asking clearly middle-aged people for ID to step into the gambling section.

Stopped on way back to Worcestershire from Heathrow on a Sunday evening. Clean and tidy. In the ladies they have the latest fancy dyson Jan dryers. Ordered food from Burger King which was good

On a wet morning this was a useful shop and toilet stop. Toilets were spotlessly clean,and plenty of cubicles available. Plenty of choice to shop and eat.
