The best restaurants in Brede Valley Rother South East

The food quality is always excellent here! My favorite is Ox cheek with filet steak! Good portion, rich flavor and super tender. Attentive service. I’d been here twice, it never disappoint me. I recommend to visit here during lunch time, as they have very good value lunch set.

Party of 16 pre christmas meal today. We were all very impressed with the standard of food, delicious , good choice and everything cooked perfectly, homemade sweets were amazing. Reasonably priced , Friendly helpful staff. Thank you we will be back 😊

Inexperienced and untrained staff. Waitress didn't know how to make a Gin and tonic. No water for shower in the morning and inaccurate billing.

We had dinner here. The menu is a bit unusual, with not too many homely choices, but we both had shoulder of lamb, which turned out to be a stew. Very pleasant and nicely presented it was too. Staff were (I think) somewhat inexperienced but very keen to do the right thing and there were no mistakes. It must be said that the dining room is rather cramped and the walls are painted dark red, which makes the whole room rather claustrophobic. We took coffee after the meal in the sitting room adjacent. A little biscotti or even a petit four with the coffee would have been a nice touch but was not offered. We enjoyed the visit. £100 two courses for two people, plus bottle of wine and two coffees. That includes a 10% service charge added to the bill. Don'tthey know it's 2023? Just increase the prices by 10% and omit the service charge -- it just rubs people up the wrong way. (Some people will then add their voluntary tip on top anyway.)

We just discovered this restaurant in the grounds of the golf course .We went there for dinner ,although it was very quiet , we enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly . We plan to come back for lunch and see what the view is like .

Visited this traditional pub for the first time today . Best Sunday roast we have had out ever! . Amazing cauliflower cheese with the roast . Service was friendly and attentive . Thanks to Mick and Hilary and Mikita who was first class serving at the table . Will be back soon

Stayed for the golf school and the food is to a very high level, super tasty, lots of vegetarian options and super friendly staff.

Sunday lunch with friends. Splendid menu, superbly cooked and presented dishes. Tasted even better. Good selection of wines to complement . Staff and service couldn’t be faulted. Excellent meal and excellent value. We shall definitely revisit soon.

Tall server with glasses was very brisk and rude with me when I ordered at the bar on New Year’s Eve. I then heard him calling women ‘brid’ and ‘duck’, which I thought was very unprofessional and misogynist in a work scenario. The food was great, the atmosphere was very warm, and all the other servers were amazing, especially the friendly young woman and the young man in the hat. But I was very put off after I heard him say this and didn’t want to stay in the pub any more, despite the lovely atmosphere and food. Really ruined my visit and put me off an otherwise lovely pub trip.

Greeted when we arrived, shown to our table straight away , took our drinks order followed by our food order. Drinks arrived promptly, food was served piping hot and freshly cooked , very tasty.

Really lovely pub, relaxed atmosphere, very exciting menu filled with interesting dishes and very well priced. Our children were welcomed and also loved their lunch. Lovely staff all doing great work. Thank you and I apologise we didn’t realise the tip wasn’t included, we will come back!

Three of us went for Sunday roast. It was fabulous!!! I am used to cooking the family meals including roasts so I'm pretty fussy(!) I could honestly say this food was really enjoyable. Lovely, cosy, welcoming atmosphere, friendly and obliging staff, great choice of meals and also a good choice of specials on offer. Easy to park too. We will be returning......often!

Food never disappoints. So delicious. Can’t decide on the best dish but special shout-out to the roti!
