I've been looking for a pho to wow me having only tried it a few times and this one finally made it click. Ordered as takeaway, was delivered by the restaurant carefully and attractively packaged with the broth seperate from the solid ingredients. The aroma that greeted me was becoming familiar, uniquely sweet and aromatic. There were seperate pots containing lemon and sliced chillies, a thoughtful touch for those who don't want heat. The only disappointment for me was the inclusion of lemon rather than lime, as I feel lime adds a lot more to the dish. Needless to say the broth was delicious, with an abundance of noodles, tender beef, beansprouts, red onion and spring onion. Each slurp made me want to do a little dance. For me this dish is about the contrast of the flavour and the aroma. It smells sweet and herbal, but the taste is salty and deep. It's addictive and warming and I fully understand why it's so popular. I also ordered the chilli oil and sriracha. I felt like the sriracha would be a bit much so didn't use it, but the chilli oil was earthy and really quite spicy and a few teaspoons completely changed the experience in a good, but different way. All in all really impressed. I've tried other more popular pho in the area and this is the best so far. One of the higher rated restaurants I won't name was very disappointing in comparison.

Clearly a place for the locals who don't know good food. Visited late evening and had a very basic meal with an over the top price tag, had the platter of 5 cold meze and three hot, thinking for four of us it would be enough to start, what arrived (pictured was not enough for two yet alone four, at £32.50 for the plate pictured you can see there is no value there. The main was also nearly £20 for what can only be described as a lamb kofta inside a wrap, with cabbage and lettuce on the side and a small portion of rice, it was tasty enough but again for the extortionate price tags it all felt very underwhelming, we also had to wait for flat breads to go with the sharer platter as it doesn't come with any, our bill for four people was nearly £200 which for the amount of food we had was not worth the money. Clearly the locals keep this place open but honestly having been to many different establishments I wouldn't be in a hurry to go back. The staff were attentive enough but not exactly welcoming either.

Delicious food and friendly staff made this quick meal stop a very positive experience. I plumped for the medium breakfast (available until 2pm) and a flat-white coffee (I was offered a choice of cup sizes and plumped for the smaller). I chose to sit outside as I’m still very much Covid-aware. The coffee was hot and just the right strength. The breakfast (2 x bacon, 1 x sausage, fried egg, hash brown, mushrooms, tomato and toast) was £6.50 and there was a smaller or larger option. I shall definitely return as it’s just a stone’s throw from my house.

Been here a few times over the years. Always friendly staff and customers. Just about clean enough toilets (men’s) could do with some updating. Not a fantastic choice of draught largers for me. Average prices for the local area. Didn’t have any food. But the nice staff and atmosphere makes up for any short comings.

I’m not sure if they have new staff if or all other reviews were by family /friends?? We visited this morning and to be honest the service was awful, 4 of our party had finished their breakfast before the 5th member had been served and then we had to remind them. Food was served on cold plates and was at best luke warm. Hash browns were soggy and greasy, Garlic flavoured soggy mushrooms??? And when a partial refund was requested the manager who was not on site refused!! A little short sighted if you want to keep your customers 3 of us have eaten here a few times but due to the above will never eat here again and probably take our custom to the cafe directly opposite.

Had a fantastic night last night at Kadirs with the family. The food was amazing the chef there has got to be one of the best in Portsmouth and I've been having curry in Portsmouth since i was 5 ! So over 50 years 😂. Staff and owner brilliant we usually have a take away but very nice to eat in and will do this more often i think, you can pick up your beer and wine opposite so it makes a very reasonable price for a night out. 👍🙌🙌🙌
