The Golden Eagle in Portsmouth

Popped in for a lunchtime drink with an old friend. Hadn't planned to go to the Golden Eagle but really glad we did. Great little? (Bigger than it looks from the outside). in the heart of Southsea. Very nice interior, good selection of beer and Dog friendly as well. Will Def be back. Recommended

Wow. That was unexpected and utterly brilliant. Went along to the Wednesday night folk club at the Golden Eagle. Grass roots music at its very best. Some wonderful musicians singing an eclectic mix of music.

We had a birthday party here it's a lovely little pub, the staff are really friendly it's such a quaint little pub, but it's a real old pub a classic not many of these left, I love pubs like this, the service was fantastic 😀 I will definitely come back here

Great pub with good choice of beers, dog friendly too, stopped in for a few pints on way back from seeing Pompey celebrations on the common. My husband and friends drink here on match days.

Unfortunately only come here once in a blue moon its a lovely pub with a great selection of drinks and everyone is friendly 😀went here after pompey game really busy but still good

Well where do I start as visitors we were allowed to try a beer by the landlord and then made to feel really welcome by the landlady. Would higher recommend a visit to this pub .

Popped in for pre match pints. Beer kept very well. TOP pies! Landlord/lady/staff were lovely. And so were other people in there. Will go back. It's a beautiful street corner pub, kept with pride. Drop in.

This was our first visit to watch the Morris Dancing, but we had such a lovely time. Great pub and we met some lovely locals so will definitely be back.

Very classic 'Pompey' pub. Great for pre-match drinks, and a nice atmosphere. The music isn't too loud - unlike some of the other pubs in the area - and the people behind the bar were very friendly. Would recommend to anyone wanting a little stop in Southsea

Three ales on offer all decently kept, still feels like a proper pub friendly staff, customers and relaxing surroundings. On the table today Gakes HSB, Fullers took on Gales but the beer is still potent. Piano in tune although after some HSB sadly my fingers were not....I hit all the right notes not necessarily in the right order or so some wise comedian once said. I like the Eagle. Worth seeking out.

This is a great pub with a very friendly and accommodating landlord. I often visit before going to watch the footy. They have a good selection of beer and lager and have very tasty hot pies and freshly baked pizza. The atmosphere is relaxed and chilled. I thoroughly recommend this place.

Nice pub, friendly bar staff, welcomes dogs. Covered patio with heaters. Two sides to the bar which is nice. Relaxed, friendly and cosy atmosphere. Free emergency feminine products in the women's loos is a really nice touch. They have a coffee machine and I think I saw a range of teas. Lovely place.

Lovely pub and friendly. Sadly at £5 more for two drinks than any other pub I've been in recently, I won't be returning. £13.50 for a double gin and a large wine, other pubs average £8.50. only gave 3 instead of 5 because of the prices.

We went to the Golden Eagle for a few drinks after work to celebrate Christmas and the Landlord arranged drinks and food as well as a Beer Pong table for us. Thank you to all the brilliant staff for their excellent service and making our party so much fun and to the very friendly regulars for putting up with us. I would definitely recommend visiting this pub, it’s brilliant!

Raucous laughter always can be heard on your visit. Never anything is too much as all the staff always offer the human touch

Lively pub attracting a youthful crowd (in age but also mind, as you'll find patrons of all ages there). Live music, good selection of beers and also coffee, friendly staff that will give you a warm welcome, bar games, wide screen for those football matches, nicely decorated, and on a good location, not far from the main streets and nightlife spots, and several residential areas and public transport centers.

My go to pub, especially for the quiz on Thursdays!!
