Food's lovely and tasty...a little cramped but nice

one of the best thai I have ever had and in the region definitely the best one! keep it up the good job! it’s unbelievable! the penang curry is to die for!

Me and my partner came here for a date night, for the first time, and it was beyond delicious. The flavours were wholesome and amazing. The food was cooked authentically by a husband and wife, with 5 star front of house service!! Highly recommend the coconut rice and red Thai curry UNREAL. We shall be back and share our experience with all our friends! Thank you 💫✨

Very quick to pop in and get a takeaway

Friday night 7pm. Nice friendly greeting. Food excellent. Fried dumplings, crispy duck and coconut soup with prawns. Bottle of beer and large glass of wine. Only £34. A bargain!!

Had food here on Saturday eavning the staff managed to fit me in as I didn't have a reservation I ordered massam chicken curry with coconut rice a a bottle of chang food was OK although the cut of chicken wasn't great not quite the authenticity of what I'm used to but not bad overall the chang was excellent

We went here because of the 4.9 rating for Valentines day and got to say though the meal was OK it definitely didn't warrant 4.9 star rating. My satay chicken starter was a bit ropey but my other half's dumplings and hot and sour soup were great albeit the prawns didn't taste of anything but the soup itself was amazing. Franco had the lamb massadam (I think it was) to follow while I chose the Thai green curry and we shared pad Thai noodles and sticky rice. Pad Thai was lovely and the other mains were fair. Lovely evening but probably wouldn't come again as lemongrass in Petersfield is waaaay better

We arranged to meet in Southsea & booked a table at Pad Thai, We arrived promptly at 20.00 hrs & were greeted & shown to our table, Our orders were taken for drinks & the prawn crackers were brought to the table, Our orders were then taken for staters & main courses, The Pino Grigio was bought to the table followed by our starters, We had crispy beef / Calamari / Spring rolls & spinach wontons, Two of us chose the sea bass as a main & this is by far the best I’ve ever eaten, lovely & fragrant & a lovely little kick, my go to dish from here on, One had the duck & my partner had the lamb massaman & a noodle dish with tofu & chilli, Every element of food was absolutely amazing & the staff were all attentive & catered for our entire evening, We will be returning in the near future & will recommend to all our friends, Thank you for a great evening

Ate here last night. Gorgeous squid rings, crispy beef, pad Thai and green curry. Really reasonable. £42 with a bottle of wine... Will def be back! Oh great service too

Visited for the Sat lunchtime menu and the food was delicious . A small venue but excellent freshly prepared meals. I had the beef penang curry and thoroughly enjoyed it. We shared starters of crispy beef, spring rolls and steamed dumplings… once again all were delicious. Extremely reasonable prices. A real gem

Distinctly average. Not good with groups or when it’s busy. It’s ok when there’s just 2 of you but it’s just too small to cope with the demand from takeaways

I don’t usually leave reviews but I am extremely satisfied with the meal we had. Our waiter was called Sri and he was fantastic! He gave amazing service, gave recommendations on food which we loved ! Food was 10/10 got 3 starters snd 3 mains which was well worth it. Will come back next week.

I have never been a fan of Thai food but my mind has been changed. We were greeted by friendly staff and felt welcome immediately. The menu is quite large for a small place but there is s good choice and the drinks are quite reasonable. I had the Tamarind prawns and Gabrielle (my wife) had the Lamb Masaman curry.. Both were first class. Highly recommended.

What an absolute gem! It was my birthday yesterday and we'd eaten out in the day elsewhere and were feeling a bit dejected. So to make up for it, we decided to have a last minute dash to Pad Thai. And how glad I am that we made the trip! It ended up making my birthday! Exceptional food. All the flavours, fresh ingredients, that transports you back to Thailand with every mouthful! Between us we had the lemongrass seabass, pad thai, prawn penang curry and a tom yum soup. Every dish was superb! Aside from which, the service was spot on, super friendly and super accommodating. Thank you Pad Thai, we will absolutely be back!

Really great green curry and satay. The quality of chicken meat can be a bit better but I like this place and the atmosphere. I can imagine it gets cosy here when it’s super cold outside, nice spot for a dinner.

Excellent food and fantastic service

Excellent restaurant worthy of the great reviews. Have been to many Thai places over the years and the food here is definitely up there in terms of authenticity and quality. The restaurant is fairly simple and rustic, so a bit like being in Thailand. Very good value too.

Another faultless meal at Pad Thai . Flavoursome and fresh . This place never disappoints . In my opinion best Thai in Portsmouth. Our server this evening Safe , was fantastic . Even though we ate early the restaurant was very busy with diners and takeaway orders . Safe was calm under the pressure , what’s more he was lovely and very friendly .

ordered the tamarind duck and chicken coconut curry and it was lovely. the duck was really nice with the crispy noodles and sea weed and it was a nice light but filling takeaway with the coconut soup too. delivery also came in good time and they were kind and polite

What an amazing find. Exceptionally good value. Wonderful menu, that was hard to choose. But the items myself and other friends choices were fabulous. So much so that by the time we finished our meal, I felt I had been eating in Asia not Southsea!! I cannot recommend this place more highly. The sad bit is I do not live close by, otherwise this would be a regular booking....

I have tried many dishes at PadThai in Southsea, and they are by far the best Thai restaurant in Portsmouth. Prices are fare and the food is always to the highest of standards. The people that own/work at the restaurant are very kind and honourable people. Would highly recommend!

This is a real Thai authentic best restaurant in town. Pad Thai was awesome, soft, and tender rice noodle absorbed with a special recipe, vegan friendly sauce. Cucumber salad was fresh and tasty. Even the rice was soft, fluffy, and fragrance. You can pick anything on the menu, and then it would be all delicious!😋😋😋 On top of delicious Thai food, they will serve you with warm and mindful service.

Had a meal that was during the lu ch time menu. So good. Me and wife loved it. Got crispy beef and fish cake. The fish cake are so good. I'm not keen on Thai but loved this place and going again today

All the reviews are right. It's a nice place. Only not an amazing place. The food is tasty, the staff friendly and the bill reasonable only not good enough for 5 stars.

Managed to get a table at short notice as we were let down by another Thai restaurant. We were lucky. The staff were helpful, the food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. Well located for a Kings theatre pre-show meal and we'll definitely be booking again. Highly recommended.

Best Path-thai in Portsmouth, you feel like you are having Path-thai in Thailand, and is not expensive.

Excellent! Honestly a fantastic meal at a great price! We visited Saturday 17 Feb and they managed to squeeze us in (thank you!). We ordered tamarind prawns (9/10), Thai green veg curry (9/10) and prawn pad Thai (8/10) Customer service fantastic and decent wine sold at a fair price.

Hands down one of the best Thai Dinners O have had. The food was fresh, light and tasteful and well presented. Don't expect the Ritz, but the food wow, Crispy Beef and Fish Cakes to Start, Lemon Grass See Bass and Tiger Steak were superb.

Five of us visited Pad Thai in Southsea for dinner on 5 January It is a small restaurant, seating I'd guess about 25 diners. It had a really nice atmosphere and the staff were excellent throughout our visit - friendly and great service We had a selection of vegetarian, vegan and fish starters and main courses plus rice. Everything was very good In addition to the food we had 6 bottles of beer, a bottle of cider and a soft drink At a cost of £103 it was very reasonably priced

Have always ordered from here which is always very reasonable and delicious, but by chance couldn’t eat at a restaurant over the road so came here. Service was impeccable, drinks brought quickly and food shortly after. 10/10 cannot fault anything.

I love the food and Thai hasn't been a favourite of mine prior to eating here. The staff are friendly and make efforts to accommodate my request of 'no chilli' !! Is now a regular take away option for us 😀

Maybe we caught a bad night. The ribs were large with plenty of meat..but were warm and dry. maybe reheated? Sadly the chicken in the curry was stringy, tiny and not enjoyable, most was uneaten. The service was fast and friendly. Truly hope this experiences was a one off we will certainly be returning.

Green curry not as hot as a Madras as suggested, Massaman curry hotter than stated mild curry. That aside lovely food and certainly popular but sadly Jungle Curry is not on the menu. The Beef salad was hot and took another portion home as it was so yummy

Popped in here after seeing they were to where we were staying. Very friendly staff. I tried pad Thai for the first time and can honestly say I wasn't disappointed, beautifully cooked and delicious.

Generally this is our go to, once a month as a treat, but it seems we have ordered twice this week!! We have tried a few different meals, but now have our favourites. The veg are fresh and crunchy, the chicken or prawns are always plentiful. Our meal is delivered quick no matter if it's a weekend or a week day. It's hot and very tasty. Wonderful food every time.

We lived in Thailand for 10 years. Our daughter in law is Thai. This is without doubt the BEST Thai food we have had in the UK.

Absolutely fabulous food. Authentic Thai. So good went back the next night. ( only staying in Portsmouth 2 nights) Service was also excellent. Only a small place so you need to book. Go, you won’t be disappointed

I go here at least once a week probably more, I could eat here everyday n not get tired of it and that's as a gluten free vegan. The food is unbelievable, the service is outstanding, Josh makes you feel like part of the family and even the other customers, most of them you see most days, are brilliant.

Great little place near rhe Wedgewood Rooms. Probably best to book as it seems very popular. Service was very good, food was delicious and it was all great value for money
