Aroy-Dee Thai is a cosy little restaurant in Castle Road (previously Nings). Food is always excellent and with generous helpings. Thoroughly recommend for relaxing atmosphere, but delicious food.

Ive eaten here since it first opened but stopped for a couple of months as food has got so greasy. Tonight i wanted thai so thought right lets try again, we it was worse massaman curry had fat layered on top over 1cm deep by time i opened it up just getting worse while i ate. Crackers soft as in with warm food bag. Pat thai greasy but okay., chicken was amazing tho. Definitely losing its taste and lightness

My new go to Thai in Portsmouth. Disappointing that there was only my group of four and two other diners on a Thursday evening. The food, service , quality and prices deserve this place to packed every night! Three stars for atmosphere as it was nearly empty, there would be a better atmosphere if more people latched on to this 'hidden gem'.

Absolutely delicious food full of rich flavour, served quickly by friendly staff. The restaurant itself is very cosy, and filled with fantastic cultural decoration. Also very reasonably priced, with perfectly sized portions.

Finally managed to return last week after nearly 2 years and the food didn't disappoint! Thai Sticky Chicken was awesome in particular. I promised myself I'd return after the welcome I was given on my previous visit. Wife and I will be back again.

Tried this lovely restaurant tonight as we are in the area for 24 hours only, went for a walk and decided, quite late, that we were hungry. We were lucky enough to get a table as the kitchen was about to close. We had Pad See-Ew, mine with chicken, his with giant prawns, and a chicken satay sharer starter. The satay sauce was delicious; I've never had one like it before. The Pad See-Ew were amazing, piled high with good stuff and extremely tasty. I couldn't eat all of mine so I have it as takeaway. The restaurant is intimate and very comfortable. Don't walk past it. The prices are excellent, especially for a seaside area. If you're visiting Southsea, then this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. I promise you, you will find excellent food, which is great value, and absolutely the kindest staff in the area.

Best Thai in Portsmouth that offers real authentic Thai food. One of the only Thai restaurants that offer a decent range of Thai salads. The chef (also owner) is an amazing cook and goes above and beyond for her customers.

The worst attitude ever in the catering industry. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. She shouted in the phone and ask me to contact Just est without listening my problem only because I placed order on Just eat. I wanted to have some help to know how I can have y food when the driver went to wrong place. She said there is nothing they can do and hang up. I called again and again but no one answered and it changed to voice message. I want to know how I can have my food! Super unhelpful and rude! Ridiculous service. First time and last time ever!

Great authentic food. Spicy but I like that. Fried eggs a little over done. Very generous portions for the price, couldn't finish and left half the food.

What can i say , took to back to when i visited to thailand about 20 yrs ago authentic thai. Portions are surprising bigger than you expect so dont over order. Ask for starter first and see how it goes . Would recommend to anyone who likes this cuisine.

We used to eat here all the time when it was Nings. We absolutely loved this place, best in Pompey! We booked a table here last night (Saturday), admittedly we booked it last minute dot com but the girl who answered assured us they could fit us in. We arrived on time and were put at the table right next to the door. This wouldn’t have been a bad place to sit if there hadn’t a constant stream of delivery drivers coming through the door every couple of minutes, leaving the door open each time they came in. It was really cold and we sat and waited to be served with our coats on!! We were sat at our table for 15 minutes and no one even came over and took our drinks order. When the guy on the front desk eventually came over, he took the order of the table of 4 behind us first, who had actually walked in after us. At this point I got up and complained. His excuse given was it had been really busy. How hard is it to keep an eye on who comes in first?! It isn’t exactly a big restaurant! All of the staff were running around like headless chickens, they were clearly too busy and couldn’t cope, too many takeaways!! Maybe they should concentrate on their customers in the restaurant first. Shame as I said earlier this used to be a good Thai restaurant!!

Horrible! Everything swimming in soy sauce. Ribs overcook swimming in watery sauce (no flavour) Pad Thai noodles overcook, served barely with any veggies. The fried squid were over fried, dry and also soaked in sauce.

Awful experience last night, was eating out starters and a rat ran under our table. Was caught by the cook with his bare hands and taken to god knows where. Was not even offered to have the bill wiped. We got up and still had to pay for our starters and drinks. Would never come back and not recommend

I work as a delivery driver, and visited this evening to collect an order, Saturday is my busiest evening of the week. I was told the order would be ready in 5 minutes, so I went away, and returned 5 minutes later. Upon returning I’m told it will be a further 5 minutes. 5 minutes later I reach out and ask, and am told it will be a further 5 minutes! If I was told it was 15 minutes in the first place, I’d have rejected the order, and collected one elsewhere, very frustrating. This is the first time having an issue with this restaurant, previously they have been very efficient.

Food was appalling the chicken was days old and tasted like rubber, on the plus side the waitress was really nice , maybe it was a busy night but this is no excuse for the quality of the food, when we complained to the waitress she offered us 20% off the meal , it was a shame because we was looking forward to a great meal 🥘

Worst Thai food we’ve ever eaten. Everything was swimming in soy sauce, even the papaya salad was swimming in soy sauce which we have not seen in any restaurant. The pad Thai had no flavor. Service was terrible. The chicken dumplings were disgusting, we wasted the entire order. Have no clue how so many people have left good reviews but will not be returning.

Had a birthday meal here last night. The place has changed management and met Raan who was very friendly and hospitable. The food came quickly and was very tasty. They were busy with just eat orders but also serving the needs of dine in customers well.

Best Thai Food restaurant in Southsea.

Really liked the food but the delivery people coming in and out every couple of minutes really ruins the restaurant experience.

Some of the tastiest food I have ever had the pleasure to eat So much choice and a wonderful atmosphere to the place. The staff are courteous and the service is very quick. I would highly recommend this venue .Take a look and see for yourself.

On Thursday 24th March we had a family meal here to celebrate my sons birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, so authentic and so tasty. This is probably the best Thai food that I have ever had. The service was also OUTSTANDING we were asked if everyone and everything was ok and the staff/ owners were just so attentive. We all had a fantastic evening and it was a reasonable price too. I will definitely be returning and ordering take out and would highly recommend this restaurant

We ordered a takeaway from Nings as it's the first place I've seen that has Mango Sticky Rice in the desert section - a firm favourite of mine from my trips to Thailand and nowhere seems to sell it! We were not disappointed! Seriously the best most authentic Thai food I've eaten outside Thailand! Outstanding Penang and Green curries, coconut rice and Chicken Pad Thai! And of course the Mango Sticky Rice was absolutely amazing! I've missed it so much! Huge portions - enough for two dinners - and great value. Can't wait to come and sit in and try more dishes in the restaurant!

Finally got to eat at this restaurant, the Thai green curry tasted so authentic and good, and wasn't too spicy, the mango sticky rice with coconut milk was so good, I felt like I was in Thailand again, this restaurant might be the most authentic and best Thai restaurant in Portsmouth. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. This is now my go to restaurant if I'm craving Thai food. Not too expensive too.

A gem of a find. Having travelled Thailand extensively, I can honestly say this is very authentic. The dishes we chose were plentiful and full of flavour. Great sized portions because there is nothing worse than leaving a restaurant hungry. It is a small place, not overly fussy, simply furnished and decorated which is exactly how we like our eating space. Service was perfect, knowingly a smile behind the mask and a Chang beer to complete the ensemble. Will be heading back as often as possible.

Yesterday was the first time I had food from here, I ordered a takeaway - I took the lid off my beef dish to find black hair on the inside of the lid, it put me right off eating it and it was binned.

Had Nings tonight for the first time, loved it, the red curry was so full of flavour, very reasonably priced. Will definitely be coming back again soon

Love it here, authentic Thai food that tastes amazing. Have had a few eat in and take away orders from here and each time the food is just perfect. Easily the best Thai in Portsmouth and one of the best i have even been to!

My wife is Thai and thinks not happy at all with her order, she thought there was too much carrot in the papaya salad and the extra prawn fried rice looked very brown and tasted peculiar maybe too much fish sauce

I live very close to Nings and I cannot believe that we have only just discovered it. We ordered tonight for the first time and the food was incredible. It was clearly very fresh, it wasn’t greasy and the portions were very big! My husband collected the food and said that the customer service was fantastic. We will definitely be back for more! Ordered a beef jungle curry, beef was like rubber, no real flavour at all and the rice wasn't fully cooked, will never eat here again. Thank you Ning for a quick response to resolve this issue.

Great Thai. The starters in particular are amazing, especially the squid.

Caveat. I've never eaten in, only had takeaways. Having said that, the restaurant has always looked nice when I've come to pick up my food and the staff I've interacted with have been pleasant. I have eaten at, or had takeaways from most Thai places in Portsmouth and I believe that this is the best I've had here. The Massaman curry has been incredible and we have it every time. We had a mixture of other curries and pads (?) and they've all been great. Good selection of food and it has all been nice. Good portion sizes. Overall, would recommend and can't wait to eat there when we have the opportunity.

So I was recommended to order from Nings tai by a friend and I was not disappointed. The food was outstanding, so tasty and clean. I ordered prawn Thai red curry, coconut rice which was just beautiful. We also had egg fried rice and chicken and veg noodles and again absolutely beautiful. Honestly recommend this place for outstanding food and the price is very reasonable too. Been back 3 times already and is now the only place I’ll order from. Thanks Nings Tai 🙌🏼

We were the first table at this restaurant not long ago and I'm sorry for not writing a review sooner however, we went back to end my birthday celebrations last week and it was again a great experience, full of flavours and good wine. The food is freshly tasty with some great portions and temperature. Also, ordered the house wine! It was amazing for the price.

Visited today with my mum after reading positive reviews about Nings online.We were not disappointed, excellent service and food....so so so good. Definitely recommended

Green Thai curry was so good, I don't eat much spicy foods and had the mild, it was just right and the flavours coming through where so incredible, just ordered my third curry in the last month or so.
