Great place for Breakfast or Brunch, although they do Lunches and Afternoon teas. Friendly Staff, Mark and Ellie are always attentive. Food is always cooked great, as you would expect. We try to get there at least once a fortnight as a treat.

We went for Sunday lunch yesterday for a big birthday celebration. We had a booking at 2pm. We arrived promptly and were asked to wait at the bar. We were still there 45 minutes later and had to keep chasing up the table. We then sat down and waited a further 15 minutes as no-one come over. We eventually found a waitress and made the orders. The food was nice and generous portions, again after dinner the plates weren't cleared away we had to ask and had to ask again for them to take desert orders. There was no-one to ask for drinks or a jug of water. On arrival we gave the staff a cake which we wanted brought out after the meal, we waited a long time for them to bring out even after asking. The staff were unfriendly and service was slow and painful

Came across this place on the last leg of a walk on the Downs a few years back. Returned today to find all was closed down and overgrown, despite a website i ducati g to the contrary. . How on earth someone managed to submit a good review on 4th Sep is rather strange. The location and feel of the garden, with the gravel pathways and cottage type beds, was once absolutely idyllic. Not surprised it hasn't survived - the following is what I drafted back then. Pethaps I should have read the signs... "There were lots of tables and chairs to choose from, some in some very welcome shade. We were rather dirty and sweaty, so didn't really notice the standard of the furniture. We sat and recovered, reading our papers. The drinks and lunch were of very good quality and tasty, so we didn't mind the above average prices. However, the speed of service and attitude of the older woman were bad. I can't therefore give a good rating.. The place was not crowded, and we had to remind them about our order (tea, cold drinks and salad) after 30 minutes - when an adjacent table was served before us, having arrived 10 minutes or so after us. When our order was delivered, our comment was "oh, lovely, we're ready for this", to which the woman replied "oh have you been waiting - we can only work so fast in this heat you know". Clearly someone who finds it easy to make it the customer's problem. Just an apology would have done. Shall go back though, for the location, but perhaps just for a cuppa next time (would possibly be cold tho).

My sister and I attended a wreath making evening tonight at 'Little Cottage Tea Rooms and Gardens'. It was so enjoyable and I came away with a Christmas wreath! Never made one before and was quite pleased with the result (my ability was the only drawback 😄). Jo, who owns the place, was absolutely charming and it was obvious that she has her customer satisfaction at heart. Jo went above and beyond and I am sure that any experience in that delightful place will be a good one.

Friday evening visit to the local chippy. Friendly staff, fish was a generous size and really tasty with crispy batter. Chips were well cooked, and were still crispy when we got them home. Really good, thank you!

Just got home after visiting this establishment for the first time an hour ago. First. The plus point. It was a beautiful day to sit outside with a coffee. Now the downside. The service. Went straight to the counter upon arrival. Notified that it was table service. Nothing unusual there. Sat down just 30 feet away and waited. I think you know where this is going. Counted just 10 people outside. So not busy. A family arrived 10 minutes after us but only had to wait 10 minutes. We waited half an hour to have our order taken. Even worse. After 25 minutes we managed to get 1 of the 2 servers attention and requested 2 coffees and 1 tea. She gave us a menu. We said thank you but there is no need as we simply want 2 coffees and 1 tea. She said that somebody would be back to take our order. Even though we had already said why we were there. Anyway 5 minutes later our order was taken. And 20 minutes later we received our tea/coffee. We left after 10 minutes and so we can’t say that the brief enjoyment outshone the wait. If I can offer just 1 piece of advice it would be to simply improve your observance in the same way that a good bar person will roughly know who arrived before who and who should be served before who. If in doubt then there is nothing wrong with asking who is next? Minus points for simply taking the scatter gun approach to serving. And being busy most certainly shouldn’t ever have any bearing on whether a newcomer is served before the table beside them who have been waiting. And waiting. And waiting.

Came here for a Sunday Roast with my family to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent, all the different roast meats were really well cooked and the portion sizes were huge so it felt really good value. The service was great and all the staff were lovely. I would definitely come back again.

We were told the takeaway food would be about 20 minutes, so arrived after about 25 just to be sure. Unfortunately this was nowhere near how long it actually took. We waited an hour in the end for the food and quickly drove the 2 minutes home, when we arrived home everything on the order apart from one item was stone cold. We ate the food because we were all hungry by this time and needed to feed the kids, the food itself wasn’t bad. But the wait and fact it was cold I probably wouldn’t return. Unless you’ve got plenty of time on your hands and like cold food! A shame because it’s the only kebab place in the village, during the week it’s still slow but better. Maybe I’ll drive the extra few minutes to Lewes in future…
