Cafe Ringmer in Lewes

We were told the takeaway food would be about 20 minutes, so arrived after about 25 just to be sure. Unfortunately this was nowhere near how long it actually took. We waited an hour in the end for the food and quickly drove the 2 minutes home, when we arrived home everything on the order apart from one item was stone cold. We ate the food because we were all hungry by this time and needed to feed the kids, the food itself wasn’t bad. But the wait and fact it was cold I probably wouldn’t return. Unless you’ve got plenty of time on your hands and like cold food! A shame because it’s the only kebab place in the village, during the week it’s still slow but better. Maybe I’ll drive the extra few minutes to Lewes in future…

Food was well cooked and staff friendly. I had my Jack Russell with me too and there was no problem. Prices average for the area.

Went here for the second time today, previous was fair but I stuck to the main menu for breakfast. On this I assign I asked to swap some of the ingredients so for example instead of chips on the breakfast asked for hash browns, instead of the burger that comes with the big daddy I asked to swap for a sausage and asked for extra black pudding. Original price of breakfast as it comes was around £10 however with the small swaps and extra black pudding at £1.80 I was charged £17.90 including my coffee. Was advised you get one swap and then charge £1.80 on any other swap. Pretty pricey if you ask me, 45 minute wait while others came and went, eggs where drinkable, beans had dried out with skin on and toast was cold. The sausage and bacon and black pudding was fine. I can get a similar breakfast with extras and swaps in my village for £11. I appreciate businesses need to survive but we won't be coming back. Not a way to keep customers. Bakers next door do amazing jam doughnuts though!

Very poor ... food barely warm and took ages to arrive .no wonder no reviews since april 2022 the .plates cold so food was even colder hefty prices for what you got it use to be a .nice place to eat ... staff at the weekend. Poor service altho it's the only cafe around i'de rather have gone to the bakers next door

I haven’t written a Tripadvisor review for quite sometime and I thought long and hard before writing this one. We have passed this place quite a lot of times but as we have a favourite tea room/cafe which we like to support we had never called in. We popped in for a cheese scone and a cup of tea last week and sat outside in what is effectively a car park. As soon as the scone arrived we knew it was bad news. If something doesn’t look like a scone, doesn’t have the consistency of a scone and doesn’t taste like a scone then it’s not a scone. I’m not quite sure what we had, I think it was a brioche bun with a bit of cheese on top. It was faintly sweet and quite horrible. When I queried it the waitress simply said ‘what is a scone then? My wife’s tea was very weak, the loose tea leaves having been enclosed in a metal wire sphere which was left in the pot. The only flavour was of metal, the tea flavour can’t escape from the metal cage!! To add insult to injury to ‘scones’ were priced at £4.50 each so two teas and two scones was £14, I felt completely ripped off. £4.50 for a scone is a London west end price. Mark Cross garden centre £2.50, Whites nursery Five ashes, £3 and so on. How on earth can you justify £4.50 for a ‘scone? They had better be careful, Stavertons garden centre is about to open a new cafe and its only a few minutes from Ringmer, I know where I’ll be going in future.

This was a hidden gem which if it weren’t for the sign would never know was there. Tucked away the cafe offered everything one could want for a brunch on the way to the coast. Great friendly service & really good coffee was a great start & the food to follow was very nicely cooked with poached eggs oozing & a fabulous hollandaise sauce making the Eggs Benedict sing. The fact that you can mix & match to create your own personal favourite breakfast meant that everyone was happy with the meal.

Arrived at 9.15. No one in there but me. Ordered straight away but breakfast didn’t arrive until 9.40!! And then it was only luke warm . Poached egg underdone. Cold toast with margarine & not butter.. coffee only warm too.. disappointed first & last visit

Not sure what’s happened to this great little cafe to be honest used to be a excellent little place.food has gone down hill I think it must be a new cook or ingredients or something not sure. Was a rude girl making the coffee and rude lad throwing drinks on the table not really caring and one great waitress that was trying her best and working very hard to cover the other two not doing much by the till.

Excellent cooked breakfast, seating inside and out . Clean and friendly. Visited several times and never been disappointed.

Reopened now but sadly their cooking oil is simply nit hot enough. Soggy chips and fish running in oil as a result. Please cook things at the right temperature - then we will return.

Really delicious food, we have had the kebabs, moussaka, lasagne, and of course milk-shakes.... well, run and very very reasonable, can't wait for the BIG breakfasts to return also!..Thanks!

A well presented filling “Farmers Breakfast’ Two poached eggs, two black puddings, two good sausages, ham, toast and chips. Well cooked, grilled so not greasy and friendly service. With a pot of tea I’d formed a good filling breakfast

Looking for a quick lunch found this little cafe. It was quite busy but nothing else in the area so gave it a go. No cleared tables so had to sit at one with previous diners plates, food, cutlery on table. After a short while waitress came over to take order. Cleared plates but did not wipe dirty table. Took order, came back with three clean glasses and put them on table, we had to ask her to clean table. Ordered lasagna and chips, Moussaka with side salad and cod and chips. Waited a long time before food arrived. Lasagna was very small and chips lukewarm, moussaka also small and side salad was just a sprig. Cod and chips apparently were ok but chips again lukewarm. Terrible presentation of all three dishes. Nearly £35 for the three of us. Too expensive for what it was.

Went this week with 2 friends for a coffee and a natter. This is a very busy little cafe which is good to see. All the food being served up looked very good. I must go for breakfast next time. Friendly staff.

A real gem of a cafe in Ringmer delicious English cafe food and also really good Turkish food ! I visited today with my daughter, the cafe is busy nowadays as word gets round how good the food is. Everything we ordered today was Very good my daughter had burger and chips andI had poached eggs on toast. There are lots of veggies options too .

I popped in here with a family member on our way home after a quick early morning trip to Lewes and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered two all day breakfasts with tea and coffee and they arrived promptly looking and tasting amazing. From the outside this place just looks like an average café and the interior decor matches the exterior but the food and service are way above average.I will be returning soon.

Great quality food that didn’t take long to make! Had a lovely full English breakfast with good proportions and great flavours for a reasonable price, was very impressed :) Hot chocolate was delicious too!

We were on our way to Uckfield from Brighton and needed to find a spot for breakfast - We fancied a full English and the Cafe Ringmer seemed to be a good shout. Fortunately we were right! We found the inside tired, but the staff were all very friendly and the menu was quite varied (Turkish breakfast sounded good...love Turkish sausages).

Wow! I can’t believe that they’ve been able to ruin EVERYTHING. Ordered two full English’s and two milkshakes of various flavours - milkshakes tasted of only one thing - ARTIFICIAL FLAVOURING tasted like one of those meal replacement protein things. There’s not a lot I can say about the full English - it left me speechless, tastes like hospital food.

You know when work gets you down; your bored and a sausage sandwich pops in your head! That’s when I ring up Ringmer Cafe and order one. It’s all ready in its polystyrene box when I get there. I return to work and munch my way through that lovely tasty meaty sausage (no sauce for me!) , buttery bread and it reaches the spot ! Yum

My 15 year old son and I popped in for breakfast one Sunday morning,the place was clean, two young girls taking the orders were smiley and polite, food turned up quickly and great value ( two full English breakfasts + two mugs of tea under £14) this is a local cafe, not a large chain with all the bells and whistles, the taste of our breakfast was was just as good. Give it a go it’s worth it.

Me and my family have visited this place multiple times and it has been perfect every time . There is a wide variety of food from the menu to choose from , the prices aren’t very high , and the cafe itself had a very warm , bubbly atmosphere. It was clean, so we had no hygiene issues. This is our favourite cafe and we will definitely be visiting again.

I regularly eat at Cafe Ringmer at my lunch hours. The menu is quite extensive so I don’t get bored with same food everyday. Sometimes the portions are a bit too big, but I can’t really complain on that. The staff are very friendly and is always clean. Keep up the good work guys.

A late lunch for two, our first visit to try out our latest local cafe. Nice and clean and quite popular. Staff were friendly and efficient. A little wait for the food, but it was freshly cooked and hit the spot. Typical cafe menu, all day breakfast looked good so plan to re visit to find out!!

I stopped off at this cafe/restaurant in Ringmer for lunch on the way back from my weekly food shopping journey due to a gnawing hunger and the need for a snack. I went in and found it nice, bright and very clean. There was a lot of choice on the menu too.

I went in with my mother on the way to a boot fair near Lewes and we were greeted by very friendly staff who smile a lot.

Friendly welcome, average breakfast, this cafe could be good but fails to live up to expectations. The quality seems to be at a low level which seems to be supported by the small number of customers when I visited at early lunch time.

The reviews here are correct the breakfast is absolutely lovely. Staff were friendly and service was great

I have breakfasted , lunched and drank at Ringmer Cafe numerous times over past few weeks with colleagues whilst working locally around the corner.

First time we had visited this little gem, did not even know it existed, met a friend for breakfast which was not only a good price the actual food including a poached egg as opposed to a fried one was faultless, so we classed it as a healthy breakfast!! First class, will be back.

Staff in this cafe are very friendly. After a couple of visits you will be treated as a regular and special guest. Coffee quality is excellent. A great meeting place for villagers and visitors.

Comimos aquí o tratar de por lo menos dos veces al mes. La comida es siempre caliente y fresco a la orden. El personal era amable y muy atento con los clientes. Era un chico normal y recientemente discapacitados. Les dio su orden y después de comer estaba listo para pagar la factura. La camarera blabbed una historia para decir a un cliente que estaba sentado detrás de él su factura para él. Oímos una conversación que sentimos mucho por chico por alguna razón. No hay muchos lugares que lo haría bien hecho por interesarse. La comida es muy buena. Mucho en el menú para elegir. Muy limpio y los clientes tratando de complacer.

Yo había organizado para satisfacer mi otra mitad en el recinto pero era tarde. Así que me decidí por el desayuno para matar el tiempo som. Me sorprendió gratamente el precios y la selección. 29 C que significaba estar fuera estaba bien. Afortunadamente tenía mi Kindle y así disfrutamos de una buena lectura.

I love eating here. The food is great, the staff friendly and efficient, and it is very clean. Their breakfasts and the best I have ever had.

I gather the people running Cafe Ringmer are fairly new, and they are certainly going about it the right way! Well done – we'll be back for more of the great food and coffee.

Hemos estado en este pequeño y encantador café para desayunar tres veces y cada vez han sido muy satisfechos con la calidad, valor y servicio. Una adición bienvenida a la aldea, la cafetería ofrece una amplia variedad de desayunos, sándwiches, baguettes y una selección de comidas principales, incluyendo algunas opciones turco. Elegimos el desayuno turco en una ocasión y realmente disfrutamos de la comida. Desayuno El Daddy's, diseñado para compartir era abundante, y el queso y tortilla de hongos deliciosos. El interior tiene reproducciones encantador de fotografías antiguas de la villa, y las mesas en el frente de la cafetería permiten disfrutar de estar fuera. No cabe duda de que volveremos de nuevo!

Very tasty Coffee, good value, nice food again not bad value, nice and clean also very friendly staff. The only reason I have marked it down 1 is because the cakes are quite expensive.

A great venue (much needed) in our village, pop in and enjoy a great coffee with friends or have a full English. Snacks, cakes, soft drinks all available and served by friendly staff.

Visitamos el Ringmer Cafe esta mañana con mi novio para el desayuno. Ambos tuvimos el compartir desayunos, que vienen con 3 salchichas, 3 rebanadas de tocino, 4 rebanadas de pan, 2 huevos, judías, 2 croquetas de patata, 2 tomates, champiñones y patatas fritas. Pedimos dos grandes chocolates calientes con crema en también. El chocolate caliente eran preciosas, muy cremosa y rica, con una gran relación calidad-precio. El desayuno era maravilloso, el hash browns siendo increíble, me arrepentí de no pedir más de una vez tuve comenzó a comer. Un montón de granos, realmente bacon gruesas y bloomin 'tostadas fabuloso. El café estaba ordenada y limpia, y muy agradable para sentarse. Gran ambiente y lleno de sol. Mucha gente comiendo y que vienen para cafés y tés de comida para llevar. El personal era tan amable y servicial.

He estado allí el pasado fin de semana con mi esposa y niños, tuve un Big Daddy desayuno, mi esposa un desayuno inglés, los niños tenían nuggets y patatas fritas. Bien los desayunos, servicio amable preparado, estaba un poco lleno a la hora del almuerzo, el personal luchan contra todos los pedidos, pero haciendo todo lo posible. Lugar acogedor.

Caro y no limpia, las camareras son bonitas pero generalmente no es muy acogedor. Sin duda no volvería , i pensé que le daría una oportunidad ya que hay muy vistas encontradas en la escuela local, pero no lo recomendaría

Nos pareció que la calidad de la comida por debajo de la media y un poco caro. Un auténtico café de cuchara de grasa, lo cual está bien si eso es lo que quieres.

El dueño y el personal es encantador ... Hacer un esfuerzo para conocer allí los clientes. La comida está bien de precio y muy sabroso tamaños portions también están bien, no demasiado y no a poco ... Si lo que quieres es una cafetería agradable ir a definitivamente recomendaría este lugar! Si necesitas WiFi tienen tan buen lugar para si quieres ir a algún sitio para estudiar y tener grub y té ...

Buen desayuno básico de inglés y servicio amable. Mesa pegajosa, piso sucio. En general estaban muy sucias. Es sorprendente, para un lugar recientemente inaugurado.

Vine aquí con mi familia tuvo una ensalada de pollo a la parrilla encantadora mientras mi marido tenía desayuno inglés completo y los niños lo nuggets y patatas fritas todos los platos vacíos al final nos alegramos de haber una cafetería independiente adecuada en la zona. El personal es amable es amable tienen un café de cocina abierta es real sin confirmación a la vista 10/10 se lo recomendaría a todo el mundo, asientos al aire libre y también para cuando el clima es agradable.

El gran café, necesita este cuello de los bosques. Puede ser un poco esnob en Lewes en y alrededor de la zona, así que era muy sorprendidos al encontrar una cafetería había abierto en Ringmer. Fuimos una semana más tarde para ver si era sólo un, pero tenía un gran pannini y café. Visitamos por un buen desayuno inglés completo y una fuente meze (los pasteles de queso son deliciosos! ). Volvimos al día siguiente para una chaqueta de comida para llevar y moussaka de patatas. El personal es muy amable y generoso, incluso tiraron una taza gratuita mientras yo esperaba. Pequeña joya en Ringmer.
