Fast service, great food at a great price. Highly recommend.

A decent pub and probably really good for food but if you are just stopping for a pint it takes ages to get served as only one person is behind the bar serving drinks while everyone else is doing food stuff...

Chose not to eat as we thought the price was abit steep. Didn’t like the service that was provided, we weren’t told how much our drinks were prior to paying, when we left and put our empty glasses on the bar, we got no thankyou or goodbye. Did not feel welcome unless that’s because we weren’t locals

Had a lovely meal! Staff were superb...... Shall return at a later date for more of the same......

Poor service and nothing left on the menu not even mushrooms Arrived at the venue after booking a table of 26 weeks ago. No table set up and had to stand in a corner and wait for other diners to eat. To be told there had a busy day well then you should be well organised and prepared when you take bookings or don’t book them in. Your kitchen should also be prepared knowing that a table was booked in so that requires extra meat and food being prepped and cooked then that’s how it should be done. After visiting this place numerous times over the years I would not recommend Avoid there a plenty of other nice establishments that are better catered for and better organised. After receiving 26 meals the chips were dry The sirloin steak was disgusting the cheesy garlic bread had hardly any cheese What a disappointment

Lovely country pub, great location, great service, great food and great portions, and for families, a nice play area for kids. Sunday Roasts, at this time, include a free dessert, the roasts are lovely with fresh veg and plenty of gravy! Good choice of desserts, although more caramel in tbe Banoffee would be most welcome. This is a great stop off if taking any of the multitude of country walks around Ringmer.

Love this place. It's our "go to" pub for a meal. Generous sized plates at decent prices - you definitely get what you pay for. I'd recommend getting half portions on dessert, especially if you've had starters and main. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They and will accommodate your needs/ preferences where possible. Belinda, the manager, is brilliant. She tries to chat to everyone and make them welcome. Definitely worth every penny. Best to book in advance as it can get very busy, especially round special days such as Mothering Sunday and Father's Day, as well as Bank Holidays.

I have been here a number of times always enjoyed the food and service. Tonight sadly was not the same drinks order taken on arrival great,20 minutes later had to ask for service for starters ordered starters and mains as didn't know how long we would be waiting for service again!! Thought it's a Saturday there busy fair enough but at least 7 wait staff and not overly busy. Get starter it's nice get main pulled pork burger it's was pork either dry or smothered in bbq sauce so could not eat it. Plates taken sat and wait 20 minutes for a dessert menu see 4 wait staff sent home and now nearly empty tables finally ask for a menu to be told oh think the kitchen just closed well you have just spent 20 minutes dressing tables ignoring us when you walk past I left disappointed and wondering if I would return anytime soon. I should add it had been my first trip here in months after having a baby was so looking forward to this day and I was left angry at the service we received.

Never had a bad meal, staff are very welcoming and food portions are big, would totally recommend. Left this original review 6 years ago, gave it 5 stars, how things have changed. Went there this evening for dinner and not a good experience. Spent the whole evening trying to keep the flies off our food. Even changed table hoping this would help but it didn't, all you could see were customers waving flies off their food. Ordered a latte which was served without milk?? Would not go back.

We went here for a main meal in the late afternoon. We had a steak & kidney pudding and a mixed grill. The mixed grill was generous with nice quality meats, and the steak pudding was equally nice. Bar service was quite slow, but it was 4.30pm, so evening staff hadn't started their shift. We asked to have our dirty table wiped down, but this never happened, and other tables were also quite mucky. A star off for slow attention at the bar, and for dirtiness being off-putting and a star off for excessive focus on keeping locals happy as a priority over others. In spite of these little gripes, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will return. Recommended

Had lunch there today with a friend, the food was amazing!! The portions are huge!!! It was busy but the food came quickly hot and fresh, all staff were happy and friendly!! Lovely pub, definitely going back there soon!!! 😊

Everything was absolutely perfect. The meals were huge. The desserts were mine blowing. And the ales. Went down a treat. What else do you need for a perfect evening. Thanks all.

Poor quality frozen type food. My burger literally had nothing in in the bun other than 2 small patties. Need to up their game and change their years old menu to compete with present day expectations of better quality food. No apologies given for wrong item on our bill either.

Never been here before but came here for a family's birthday. The service at the bar was friendly and the food was lovely.

Starter (we shared); Salt & Pepper chilli squid with salad. Main; Steak & kidney pudding, mash & veg Steak & Stilton pie with chips & veg. Pudding; Biscoff cheese cake, banoffee pie (OMG! 😋) We thoroughly enjoyed every dish. The squid was cooked perfectly and a big enough portion to share. Both pie & Steak and kidney pudding had a great flavour and was packed full of meat. Vegetables cooked so well.......and now for the puddings...... absolutely amazing! This is a great place for food (probably best to book if going for Sunday lunch, which is also great). It has an extensive menu, so there is something for everyone. Drinks very reasonably priced (as is the food), great atmosphere and there is a side part decorated with fairy lights that would make a great area if it was celebration meal and there was a group. The staff are really great as well, so friendly and really go out of their way to make it a positive and enjoyable customer experience. Yes! I would thoroughly recommend this place. It's definitely worth visiting! Thank you to all the staff, looking forward to returning real soon (already know what I'm having!)

The majority of our food was burnt we had waited an hour for the response when approaching the waitress was you can have a free desert. Totally ruined a birthday celebration. Found certain members of staff very unprofessional and rude.

Chanced upon this pub on the way home from Brighton. So glad we did. Loads of choice on the menu and very reasonably priced. Staff friendly even though it was very busy. Wish it was closer!

Stopped off late afternoon on a Sunday as we were hungry and were passing. Hadn't made a booking but there were lots of free tables outside. What a good range of dishes, both on the regular menu and on the specials board - made it hard to choose. Couldn't believe the portion sizes...huge! Absolutely delicious, plus the service was good too. Will drop in again for sure.

Took my Wife and Sister today for Sunday lunch. Could not fault it, staff were clean, friendly, helpful and very efficient. Food was excellent, good size portions and hot. Could not fault the price which was much cheaper than most town pubs. I would highly recommend this Public House to my friends and relatives. Well done.

Good quality food, nicely cooked,and a varied menu. Friendly staff . Can get busy, may pay to book. Free parking, outside seating in a covered area and also in the garden.

You have to be really hungry to eat here, lots of very yummy food at a very reasonable price. Good friendly service from the staff.

This lovely pub was great as serving food all day. Great menu. Sadly my liver and bacon was tough and chewy but I was hungry and ate it, the veg was lovely and not over cooked with fluffy mashed potato and lovely thick gravy. My dining companion enjoyed burger and chips. I would definitely like to visit again and try something else.

As always the Green Man did not disappoint us. We had a great family meal to celebrate Easter. The food was excellent the staff friendly and the service was excellent despite the pub being very busy. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be going back.

A great lunch for our monthly car club meeting, and food and service was very good for our party of 34.

Food great atmosphere great but over welming feeling staff wanted us to leave as fast as possible once eaten . hovering. Clearing table at speed ect so they could shut up and go home . 9pm sort of ruined the evening so will avoid next time

Waitresses are miserable and felt pressured into picking an option, food was poor and was not what I was expecting. I ordered a wrap and got a giant taco with chicken that was dryer than my nans foot. Would not recommend and wouldn’t wish my worst enemy to come here. Very sad :(

It was a very nice pub, we had my ml wake done there and the food was so good , freshly cooked and hot , quiches were the best ,chicken cooked and hot, and service at the bar was very good . Overall, everything was OK. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty drinks! The perfect spot to unwind after a long day but also to have gatherings such as parties, etc . Highly recommend!"

8 of us had delicious, well presented 3 course meals. The portion sizes are generous and didnt really need either the dessert or the starter but so delicious couldn't resist. Staff very welcoming and professional. Will definitely be going back.

We stopped here for a late lunch carpark, which was full, so it a good sign. Managed to get a table, but the restaurant was buzzing. Three very helpful waitresses who seemed to never stop. Good choice of food we both hss scampi with delicious giant chips to many for me. We were looked after, and when in the area again, we will definitely stop. I'd say would be worth booking a table.

The quality of the food was average. They seem to think that quantity outweighs quality as they give you huge portions to compensate. You are crammed in like sardines & I didn't enjoy the experience I'm afraid.

A great place to eat, with a good buzzing atmosphere. The food was amazing and in plenty, and the pricing was very affordable. We all felt full after our main meal but couldn't resist the lovely desserts. The waitresses were really friendly and efficient and although it was really busy, we didn't have to wait too long for food.

If you like a proper (large) sized meal, this is the place to go on a Monday to Friday. The portions are a bit smaller on the weekend, but still very tasty and great value. The puddings are great too!

I have been visiting this local's pub for about seven years now for food when I'm in the area. I have always had a good meal here. Pub food at its best. Good portions and tasty. Very good value. I always look forward to my visit. I should also mention there is an excellent selection of beer. Oh, and btw, the liver and onions are to die for! (Easy parking too.)
