The best restaurants in West Wight Isle of Wight South East

Hoy he pedido bebidas y algo de comida para el almuerzo en el bar. Me dieron las bebidas en el bar, mi comida más tarde fue llevada a mi mesa. Más tarde fui al bar a pagar. Solo más tarde, cuando comprobé mi recibo, me di cuenta de que me cobraban un cargo discrecional del 10 % por servicio en mi factura. No me informaron de esto en ese momento y me dieron mi recibo después de que pagué. Esto es francamente insignificante, debería haber sido informado antes del pago. Cuando pido bebidas y comida al bar y la pago en el bar no hay necesidad de imponer un cargo por servicio, ese es literalmente su trabajo. Ten cuidado si vas allí. Personalmente no volveré.

I use chessel cafe quite often as I think it has a nice feeling about the place very clean, friendly staff and nice ambience however i think the coffee is way overpriced as you only get a small pottery cup pour that into a normal cup and it wouldn't even be half full also had a toasted teacake very small and asked for some cheese to go with it was charged £1.50 for two small slices of cheese just think it's very overpriced

Excellent food for all 7 of us cooked to order in only 20 mins. Fresh, tasty and reasonable prices. Good selection for the veggies.

Excellent tea and cakes. Tea was full of flavour - both the English and the Earl Grey. The Bakewell Tart was superb - one of the best I’ve tasted. Very pleasant service and dogs welcome. The building is C17th and has real character.

We all had the pleasure of being served our ice creams by Keith on Mothers Day! What a delight and credit to your business this young man is.... so enthusiastic and with an abundance of personal recommendations on so many flavours and options available. He made our afternoon!

An interesting hotel where we went for dinner, although the food was ok it was a rather limited menu and the restaurant had no ambiance. The portraits in the hotel reception are fun though and worth a look. We did not stay at the hotel we just ate there and it was a shame it was too windy to eat outside

Well stocked deli, located close to the ferry, and full of interesting, and very enjoyable produce. We can definitely recommend the quality wholemeal bread, as well as the pastries and particularly the cheesecake, and the delicious range of Pork pies. We loved the shop, and the staff were helpful - great customer service.

Had a lovely meal here this evening. The staff were lovely, welcoming and attentive. My husband ordered the burger, which he enjoyed and I had the veggie curry which was fabulous. For starters we shared the salt and pepper squid which was beautifully cooked. All in all we had a lovely couple of hours before catching the ferry home. I would definitely recommend.

Walked here from our accommodation expecting basic pub food. Pleasantly surprised by excellent steak with trimmings. and an even better apple and cinnamon crumble. Very friendly staff (who happily charged my phone as I’d forgotten my charger) and we went back the next day just for puddings!

Hmm. The setting could potentially be quite promising, with a sea view and a castle framing it on one side. But the ambience was ruined by the sound of over-pumped muzak and the pervading smell of other-people's fish, and nevertheless one was expected to pay a rather high price for the dubious pleasure. If pricy cod disco ain't your thing, this might not be the ideal choice.

On the positive side, it’s a very nice pub in a lovely town with friendly staff and good beer plus it’s very dog friendly. On the minus side there are my pet hates, a TV in the outside area and some awful piped music, which rather marred the visit. We still enjoyed the pub, but would think twice about returning unless they rethink their playlist or better still turn it off.
