The best restaurants in Central Wight Isle of Wight South East

A wonderful place to eat; such a pleasure to visit and find a place that was so welcoming and being able such enjoy top quality food. Nothing was too much trouble; we had delicious sandwiches freshly prepared from local ingredients. Coffee that was fully flavoured, but refreshingly not bitter. All the cakes were definitely home made; tasting well and looking gorgeous. The cafe was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our first visit, but definitely not the last.

I was luck enough to get 2 seat at the ‘pay what you want’ evening. I can honestly say it did not disappoint! 8 individuals sat round a table, enjoying wonderful food. A brilliant concept! Each dish was carefully thought out and tasted insane. Alex and Laurel were easily able to cater for my gf needs along with the normal secret menu! I will be ordering take out soon so I can share their amazing food with my Husand. Checkout their website and get your name in the hat for one of these brilliant evenings!! Another absolutely delicious meal. They never cease to amaze us. Super tasty, massive portions, Super friendly.came here on Christmas day with family and friends. And of course it was another absolutely delicious meal. The tables were all fully booked. The food as always was superb. And of course Cath and Mike were as always perfect hosts. This is a really superb establishment which oozes amazing service and top quality food in generous portions. All this in an immaculately kept country style restaurant. Pricing is very competitive, especially when you consider the generous portions. The cakes are worthy of special mention, they're very fresh and baked by someone who has a passion for producing top quality confectionary. The Tandem Tea Room is definitely a must visit tea room if you're looking for top drawer food and beverages in the Brighstone area of West Wight.

Wow, what a find. We called in here while collecting some items from the pottery and were so glad we did. We’ve been visiting the island regularly for 4 years and this is by far the best breakfast we’ve eaten in all that time. The produce was of the highest quality, the lovely lady behind the counter was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our son said it was the best bacon sandwich too - so much so that he ordered another to eat on the go when we left. My daughter asked for cheesy beans on toast which wasn’t on the menu but they had no problem with making it for her. Absolutely excellent find - would highly recommend taking the trip to enjoy it.

Grabbed some drinks from here whilst in Ventnor. The lattes were great and the strawberry milkshake was amazing.

The staff are amazing, so friendly and accommodating. We went with my elderly, disabled parents, and they couldn’t do enough for us. The home-made cakes are to die for and the view. I could’ve sat there for ever.

Best chippie on the island, always consistently good

Wonderful, great value little cafe that I would absolutely go back to. Portions were very generous and ingredients were fresh and good quality.

We had yummy cake and hot chocolate today, enjoyed with a fantastic view and the staff were very friendly. Lots of fresh cake selection or smaller meals on the menu. Always love popping by when we visit the island

We were told about 'The Best Dressed Crab ' from our host where we stayed 👍 According to Google Maps, only a 7 minute drive from our location, we picked a day and phoned ahead to make a reservation ( don't visit without booking prior to going ). Because of local roadworks in place, it took nearly an hour to reach our destination 😩 We parked up alongside the river and proceeded to walk down the jetty to what looked like a mobile home in the river🥺 When we entered the hut, we were pleasantly surprised at how cosy and welcoming it was. We were shown to our table, and menus were received 👍 The menu was well put together with various dishes to tempt you from a crab sandwich to a full seafood platter🥲 We chose the seafood platter, and boy was that a great option, we had clams, prawns, crevettees, dressed crabs, mussels, lobster, and crab claws, all on top of a fresh salad tray with leaves, rocket and baby tomatoes, and two large chunks of baguette ( see photos ) all washed down with some prosseco and English ale it was very very tasty. It satisfied us thoroughly, so there was no room for dessert . Cannot recommend this place highly enough just wish we lived closer as I think this would be where I spent most of my hard earned English pounds in❤️ Please be aware that they can run out of seafood as they are governed by what they catch fresh that morning

Went here for Christmas dinner, sorry to say won't be back. Me and my wife both had prawn cocktail to start, it was probably the worst prawn cocktail I've ever had, packed with lettuce with a few rubbery prawns on top. I then had my beef dinner, it came with a bowl of Vegetables which were cold, not warm but cold, the only saving grace were the broccoli.My wife had a turkey dinner which she enjoyed, apart from veggies. To top all that, the cabaret we witnessed between staff and chef was very unprofessional, chef was effing and being at the top of his voice which everyone could hear. We didn't complain because I felt sorry for the only member of staff who was trying to do all jobs on his own, I give him 10/10. We live in Brighstone and desperately wanted this pub with new owners to succeed but this experience has put us off.

Love this pub. We went for a friend's pre Christmas catch up. Food lovely , service considering they were really busy with several large parties, was efficient and friendly.

Amazing little gem, food amazing, reasonably priced, we had Goat Curry, best ever. Staff very friendly, beautifully furnished. Pretty garden and Stream.
