Wow, what a find. We called in here while collecting some items from the pottery and were so glad we did. We’ve been visiting the island regularly for 4 years and this is by far the best breakfast we’ve eaten in all that time. The produce was of the highest quality, the lovely lady behind the counter was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our son said it was the best bacon sandwich too - so much so that he ordered another to eat on the go when we left. My daughter asked for cheesy beans on toast which wasn’t on the menu but they had no problem with making it for her. Absolutely excellent find - would highly recommend taking the trip to enjoy it.

Went to MJ's cafe in Niton for lunch, this was our 3rd visit since the cafe opened. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I felt I had to. I was very disappointed on this occasion. I ordered the Chicken club sandwich, the cheap bread it was served up in was a disgrace, for £8.95 I expect better quality bread not the cheapest bread from a supermarket. Sadly I will not be going back again, such a shame, lovely location, poor food.

A very friendly welcome and excellent food served in sensible sized portions. The tea for two came in a proper sized tea pot ensuring we both had several cups each which was very welcome as we had just walked St Catherine’s Down. Mouth watering tender beef in Yorkshire Pudding with delicious veggies and extra gravy followed by home made cake made for the perfect lunch. Dogs are welcome too.

We come from Totland to use this place, only for coffee so far but the enthusiasm of these two youngsters running their business is plain to see, polite, courteous and willing to please, fair prices, pleasant interaction, nice ambiance and happy smiling faces. Over 20 mile round trip, is it worth it...damn right it is.

Being a local I did not stay at the hotel but I thought I'd try the food as eating out in Newport is limited to say the least (unless you like pizza/pasta, there are at least 4 of these). I fancied traditional pub food which today is a scarce as all the pubs seem to be in the Gordon Ramsey mode, posh food, very little of it and expensive. The Wheatsheaf’s menu included real pub classics including Steak and Ale pie, Pork Belly, Steak and Chips, Lamb Shank to name a few. For starter’s I opted for the chilli prawns, a generous portion, cooked perfect and presented shell off which saves all that peeling and messy fingers! Starters are all priced at £5.00. I followed this with a perfectly cooked 8oz sirloin steak (med-rare) with lovely crispy chips and a blue cheese sauce accompanied by a nice crisp fresh salad, (which was not just a bowl of leaves like in most places). Although the chips were frozen they were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect, I almost mistook them for the latest fad (3 times cooked chips). The chef must have a trick up his sleeve. The steak was cooked perfect. A field mushroom would have been a nice touch. Here's the good bit, all main dishes are only £10, if you fancy steak you do pay a £4.00 supplement which is fair. Even though I was stuffed I could not resist the homemade Rhubarb Crumble with cream. I managed to eat ¾ of it. Again, all the desserts were priced at £5.00. All I can say is although this pub has had a bad reputation for food in the past this is certainly not the case now, it’s really worth giving it a try.

As Aussies we are critical of coffee as our culture is addicted to it. Here we had a coffee we were amazingly thrilled with. It was a REAL COFFEE with flavour, depth, texture and truly made with love thank you Emma for creating the best coffee we have had in the entirety of the UK xx
