Absolutely delicious. Done of the nicest Italian authentic food we’ve tasted outside of Italy! We tried a couple of times to get a table and I’m so glad we persisted. Food was amazing, the seafood linguine was fresh and tasty, the aubergine and courgette pasta tasted just like we were in Sicily, the kids meals of margarita pizza and cream pasta were perfect. So much so that they fed themselves without need for me to interfere or push them along. Service was attentive and a lot of care was taken to ensure the table next to us with a nut allergy were briefed on the cooking and any potential risks in cross contamination. Price was very reasonable and worth it for the quality, taste and ambiance. We spoke to Fabio after and complimented him on the great dinner. If you ever sell your chilli oil we are ready to buy it!! Thank you for a lovely evening.

Really lovely food here, just such a shame that the wait was over and hour for our pizzas. We were a group of 7 coming to eat here on the first night of our holiday and, while the atmosphere and servers were really lovely, the wait time was just not good enough. They announced that they were serving pizzas only, which was a bit of a shame as we had booked in hope of having a bit more variety than that, however completely understandable that sometimes things happen and menus need to be shortened. Not a problem, pizza menu is fairly large so we stayed optimistic! Then after putting in our order, the wait got to over an hour and things became less optimistic. Then 3 out of the 7 dishes we ordered arrived and the food looked/smelled gorgeous! However, it was another 10 minutes before the rest of the food arrived. A real shame. We as a family like to wait until everyone has their food to start eating. However if we had done this here, I would've had stone cold stone baked pizza :( We also have a family tradition of going back to the same, first night restaurant on the last night of our holiday. Needless to say, unfortunately this tradition was broken this holiday. In summary, lovely little place with some really yummy food for a reasonable price, and some really lovely staff, but the wait time was far too long. Perhaps a smaller group would've fared better, but I certainly wouldn't return in a larger group than 3. 5* for the food itself, 3* for the service as the waiters were really nice (despite the kitchen being very slow), and 4* for atmosphere, as the place was cool and quirky, but it was clear that we were not the only ones waiting a long time for food.

Been here whenever we are in Ventnor and it's open! Food is very good and the service is friendly and though sometimes it can take a bit longer than some places, the dishes are prepared from fresh when ordered. Good choice of drinks though quite expensive but this seems to be the trend in many places these days. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the town.

Fantastic food, the chef with a big heart , incredible staff that makes you feel very homely , the only place to visit in Ventnor.

Second visit to Amarcord and it was as good as the first. Food and service were excellent. The best pizza by far. Keep up the good work your an asset to Ventnor.

Our last night in the Isle of wight was in this lovely establishment and what a shame we did not go the first night we was in the IOW as we would have visited here a few nights at least, as this i would say was one of the best meals i’ve had in an italian 🇮🇹 restaurant ever. The starters were so generous and delicious and all my family finished their food which was a first in a long time. The Pizzas and pasta were so nice and we wish you was in London where we are from. Great polite staff and they appreciate their customers which is lovely to see. We will definitely be returning to this great restaurant next year on our return. Thank you Paul & Family

Fantastic place - they were fully booked but as we arrived early they kindly fitted us in. Food was lovely, especially the Puttanesca. The staff were really friendly and welcoming - I'd recommend to anyone.

We’ve just moved to Ventnor and have just found our new favourite local restaurant. Service was friendly and atmosphere was lovely. I’m gluten free and vegetarian - so I’m a nightmare to go to dinner with! - but I had THE most delicious pasta and my daughter had an amazing margarita pizza that looked mouth watering. Visited last night with my husband. Greeted at the door and showed down to the basement; which we were glad of as a large and lively group had not long been seated upstairs. I was driving so they had a selection of zero alcohol beers so I could pretend. And husband was happy with his beer selection. We ordered a beautiful tomato and basil brochette to share which was a perfect size to share, so tasty, and fresh. Followed by prawn and crab linguine for me and all the meats (I forget the name) pizza for hubby, with garlic cheese pizza to share. Food was magnificent. They were well staffed and all friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. And the service was fast having arrived and left the restaurant completely stuffed within the hour with a box of left overs which we’ll enjoy later. Best Italian meal for a very long time. Would highly recommend a visit for sure. Thank you :)

Another most fabulous Italian meal in this lovely restaurant. We have sent lots of friends and they all agree it is the best they have had(and they are fussy people!) Everything is beautifully prepared and hand cooked by the chef himself xx

What an absolute gem of a place! The food was fantastic and the staff were brilliant. We both had pizza, watched it being cooked and thoroughly enjoyed it. The place is great with a cosy atmosphere. Thanks to the owner for making it such a wonderful night. We will be back on our next trip!!

Best food and service in ventnor! If you’re looking for better Italian food outside of Italy then this is the place to be! Pizza that melts in your mouth and pasta that leaves you dying for more!

We went end of August 2023. It was great, and because they had a cool basement section we could bring our dog. Pizza was SO tasty, linguine was brilliant also. Definitely recommend it.

Food was ok, had prawn linguine. Tasty prawns and nice pasta, although a bit too creamy and rich. Very salty. The service was terrible. We booked for 7:30 and ordered mains straight away. They didn’t arrive until 9:15!! Ridiculously slow and we only ordered two pasta mains. The table next to us also had bad service - they brought one meal out for them on a table of four so the poor guy had to sit there and watch it get cold for about 45 minutes. Then they brought a burnt pizza to someone else on that table and said ‘the chef says is that ok? If not he can replace it’. It definitely wasn’t ok - should have just made another one. The waiting staff were really good - very friendly and helpful. But the guy at the pizza oven (who I believe is the owner) was useless.

JULY 2023 Absolutely the most wonderful Italian dining experience ever. Even grumpy husband thought it was sensational. The owner and his staff were super and the food was out of this world. We ordered two takeout pizzas by phone. The pizzas were absolutely gorgeous.

Excellent super-sized pizza, delicious pasta, a well-dressed salad and very nice wine made this a birthday celebration to remember. Lovely restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. And the very kind gesture of not charging for the pre-ordered birthday cake confusion really was the icing on the cake! Thank you for a lovely evening. I'm sure we'll be back.

Very friendly staff, specially the cheff. The food was amazing, handmade, tasty and fresh.

Lovely food and a good selection of very nice pizzas and pastas. Perhaps a little pricey for what it is, but the portion sizes were decent. My boyfriend and I had two pizzas and a sharing platter between us and we were both very full afterwards. They allowed me to box up what I couldn't finish as well, so that was handy. Service was also friendly and staff were polite and helpful. However, it's only small and they've tried to cram in more tables than they really have room for. The result is an extremely awkward and hazardous layout. Immediately getting in the door, we had to literally squeeze past two people back-to-back in their chairs who were barely centimetres apart. And when we sat down at our table, we ended up blocking in a woman on the table next to us due to the positioning of the chairs. We couldn't just move the chairs round to the other side of the table either, because then we would have been blocking another walkway. As someone who works in health and safety, the whole layout is actually quite dangerous. Evacuation would be a nightmare in the event of a fire or other emergency! Also, they really need to do something about the squeaky door!

Fitted is in despite arriving without a reservation on a Saturday evening. Great pizza; excellent service; reasonable prices.

Excellent food and exceptionally friendly service. We have dined here numerous times and Chef Fabio is a talented gentleman who always goes the extra mile to accommodate and will ensure you have the same experience that one would have dining in the best pizzeria Italy has to offer. We travel from the mainland to Ventnor especially to eat here and try the new dishes.

Very disappointed with our visit last night. After pre booking a table for 10 people we were excited to dine here. We arrived at 7.30pm and ordered our food and drinks shortly after. At 9.20pm we questioned why our food hadn’t arrived only to be baffled that it hadn't even been started ? It didn’t even look like the pizza ovens were on ? Very strange experience. Our group left hungry without dinner.

Food was good but a table next to us didn’t have their food cooked because of a management issue. Not sure exactly what happened but after they left there were several staff talking to each other swearing and I saw one stick their middle finger up at the customers. Completely ruined experience.

Amazing service and brilliant food 10/10 would suggest

A group of 10 who unfortunately left with no food. After starters arriving quickly, we waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for our main. When we asked how long it would be, our food wasn’t even being cooked and there was no intention of it being cooked at 9.15pm. In addition to this, the manager placed his finger on my friends lip telling him to “shhhh” - we’ve never been treated this way. Outrageous

A wonderful restaurant that served possibly the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. Amarcord were wonderfully accommodating for a large group and all 11 of us were absolutely delighted with the food, service and the restaurant itself. A fantastic addition to the Island’s restaurants!

We were a group of seven who dined here on Friday evening to celebrate a 50th birthday. The owner and chef, Fabian, and his lovely staff, went above and beyond to ensure we had the best evening. Delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. Ventnor is very fortunate to have this fab new restaurant. We will definitely be back on our next visit.

amid all the pub food a pizza master has descended from heaven in Ventnor. We had a delicious meal of an excellent starter accompanied by an excellent barbera wine. the pizza was made in the neopolitana style and was delicious. You can walk right past it, but the decor of the restaurant was modern and a bit industrial. with pleasant wooden furniture. Small but cozy. A tasty grappa as a digestif was also included! Recommended!!!

We had several excellent meals here over the course of our two week stay in Ventnor. On our first night my wife and I needed something to eat after the kids had gone to bed, so we got takeaway pizzas from Amarcord. Delicious! Whilst I was there I booked us a table top return with our kids a couple of days later for dine in. The meal was so good, the staff so friendly and helpful and willing to accommodate our eldest's dairy allergy that we then booked to come back another couple of times. The meals and service equally good and enjoyable on each occasion. I would definitely recommend, the pizzas are superb (lots of variety on the menu), the pasta is similarly good (though I only are pizzas!). We will be going back when we are next in Ventnor!

We visited Amarcord five weeks ago (sorry for the delay!) and had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious but also the customer service. It was during a very hot spell so I asked if we could have a table near the door. Not only did that happen but they moved it so it was slightly closer to the fan. Unfortunately, that made it more difficult for other diners to access the stairs near us to get to the downstairs loo. However that didn't seem to cause any problems either as they informed everyone that there were other stairs which could be used and we had a very cool and comfortable corner to sit in! Thank you so much for being so accommodating and I hope you have great success. We loved Ventnor and you added to our lovely holiday memories.

As per other reviews; proper top drawer Pizza, and I’m a worldwide best pizza hunting bore. The service was great, with particular mentions to Kirsty and Ellie, who seemed genuinely interested in our ‘banter’. My wife’s Linguini was amazing, and the world’s fussiest youngest daughter was happy too. Loved it 👌🏼

The bruscetta was plentiful and rapidly devoured, the prawn and crab linguine bountiful, and the only reason it took time to destroy the handmade homemade pizza was it was so hot and fresh from the oven. Great little place if you want great food ajd a welcoming atmosphere.

Came down to visit ventnor from London, found this cute place to eat after, really nice authentic Italian food. I had a really nice margarita & my friend had a great seafood pasta dish. Came to 36£ for the both of us. I was blown away by how amazing value it was for money. Honestly that would be the price for one persons main in London. I honestly think they’re undercharging. We were in a rush to catch the ferry, so took our meal away half way through eating, but will deffo come again & recommend to family on the north of the island

Didn’t expect to get one of the best pizzas of my life here in UK, but I did! Food and service is outstanding. Would love to come back.

We came in here at a loose end while holidaying in Ventnor and it was so good we came back again two days later! The whole team were so welcoming and kind, particularly Poppy, and the food is exceptional! Highlights are the prawn and crab linguine; so much crab meat and beautiful prawns; and the prawn and salmon penne; so so so good. The pasta is all fresh and the wine selection is well curated. Please go to this place and keep it thriving so we can eat here again in the future!

We went in for our first try this evening and ordered take away calzone, sat inside and had a drink whilst we waited for it to cook. The premises has been painstakingly and beautifully refurbished from its former use and is an absolute credit to the owners. Great service and a truly excellent calzone. 😋 Definitely going back for the full dine in experience soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Recently had a selection of takeaway pizzas and thoroughly enjoyed them. The ingredients were fresh with a perfect blend of salty cured meats and creamy melted cheese, with a perfectly charred crust. Would recommend anyone to dine in and take out (tastes just as good for lunch the day after).

Had a gorgeous pizza last night with a lovely chianti. Really impressed at what the owners have done with the space and everyone is so friendly. The three of us had a great time and we'll definitely be back regularly. Thank you for a lovely evening!

The most delicious pizza and garlic bread I've ever had! The staff were amazing too and the owners are extremely friendly. I highly recommend that you go and eat there.

A stunning renovation of the former fish n chips. We had the 1) veggie and goats cheese and 2) truffle pancetta pizzas. Honestly they were delicious! Also offered the fresh made garlic and pepper oils by Poppy and Kirsty. Can’t wait to return. Two thumbs up ‼️
