A lovely little cafe. Cosy and comfortable. Food is great and staff very friendly. Would recommend it if you are in the area.

This is THE choice for all day breakfast. Reasonable price and a loaded plate. The cakes are made in house and just yummy.

We stay in Freshwater every year and always visit the sugarloaf for breakfast . Always a fantastic welcome from Tina and sammy and great atmosphere in the cafe and fantastic food by Howard in the kitchen we always look forward to going . Many thanks guys see you next year

Cracking all day breakfast made to order and a full coffee menu. After the white bread sandwiches on offer at The Needles this was a delightful surprise!

A lovely little post run coffee stop! I enjoyed a very friendly welcome here on my last day in the Isle of Wight. I was very happy to find vegan options and was even able to order off-menu for an iced latte!

Myself and 5 other friends swam at Totland this morning. We had booked a table for 6 for 11am and so happy we did. We received a lovely friendly greeting and was grateful for the warmth. The choice of breakfasts were great and we all thoroughly enjoyed the most delicious bagel breakfasts! Wow... We had no room for the homemade cake but purchased a selection between us to take away. They were delicious. The prices were as expected for such lovely fresh food. Thank you for making our Saturday swim and breakfast another memorable one. We will be back for certain. X

After a lovely dip at totlabd beach, our group booked a table, it was our 1st visit, but after the most awesome breakfast, and the welcome we got, it certainly won't be the last. We left very full and boxes of yummy home made cake, couldn't ask for more. A must visit 😁

Fantastic Breakfast cafe. Even made off menu items for our 16 month old. Very kind and attentive staff with even the most ginormous breakfasts for the biggest of belly’s!

My first visit and enjoyed the “Bigger Breakfast” with a Cappuccino. Excellent food and coffee with cheery service, it was a very good choice of venue.

Fabulous food generous portions, great service, I had bigger breakfast, my partner had a panini and our dog was made welcome which is a bonus. Would highly recommend.

Ordered the Sugarloaf bagel expecting a little sandwich, however, I was shocked to receive a huge plate of food. we were very impressed with the quality and quantity. The cake selection was also excellent, and the server has a great sense of humour. We did not expect much from the unassuming frontage, but we were warmly welcomed and will definitely return next time we visit the area.

Stopped here for just a morning coffee, and ended up ordering a breakfast based on other customers, the friendliness of the staff and the menu. The bagel breakfast was of both excellent quality and value, but I had to skip lunch due to the generous portions.

Small but with a champion chef. The all day breakfasts are superb with options from small to super sized. The chef here is a real master cake maker!

Lovely staff. Very friendly. An extensive, yet unpretentious, breakfast menu. A large coffee with some humongous, fluffy, American pancakes, bacon and eggs came to less than £11.

Stopped for breakfast while visiting the Isle of Wight because of Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Hubby had the full English which was apparently delicious. I had the breakfast bagel which was also delicious. Great value for money and really set us up for a day's sightseeing.

Another trip to West Wight another trip to Sugar Loaf and I'm pleased to say nothing has changed, the same friendly staff and good food at a good price. This is usually our first stop after getting off the ferry and we've yet to be disappointed, first class food, excellent value for money, thoroughly recommended.

Opted for the bigger breakfast, loved every mouthful. Lovely Cinnamon latte too. If & when I’m in the area again, I’ll be back for sure. Well worth visiting

Visiting the IoW with family, Sugar Loaf was local to our accommodation in Totland so popped in for breakfast. Staff very friendly, food was very good. Nice choice of breakfast including different breakfast bagels. The decor is tasteful. My only complaint was the smell of stale/lingering oil, the kind that stays with you on your clothes.

We live locally ,decided to go here for lunch today and I'm pleased we did . The brie and bacon panini was £6 ,was packed with filling and was served with some crisps, side salad and a ramekin of French dressing ,it was lovely . Nice coffee and mint tea too . Recommend this place and will be back.

Wow. The cakes were lovely and my kids adored their hot chocolates - now we are home they always compare everyone else’s to yours!

We visited this lovely little cafe for breakfast for four of us. The lady running the cafe was really welcoming, rearranging the tables so that we could all sit together and keep a baby in her pram. We all had an English breakfast which was cooked beautifully with really tasty ingredients that seemed high quality and the mugs of tea were proper man sized cups…in my opinion always a hallmark of a decent breakfast restaurant 1 medium and 1 small breakfast plus a cup of tea and a coffee came to just over £18 so not the cheapest but I’d still say good value considering the quality and portion sizes. Definitely recommended.

Welcome is so friendly. There are so many great things, breakfast, dinner, but the pancakes are totally off the charts.

The Sugar Loaf is a great place to visit! The Big Brealfast was brilliant. It was £7.95 and plenty big enough to set you up for the day! It was very nice food, well cooked and presented. The quality of the food was good and for the price, the portion was great. The staff were very friendly and brought our dog water and dog biscuits and asked it she could have the biscuit before giving it to her. We also had a milkshake and this was amazing. It had so much flavour (Vanilla) and didn't just taste like milk. We are not locals but the staff knew all the locals by name and seemed to be very popular within the local area. We would definitely recommend a visit here for breakfast or lunch.

Just had the most delicious bacon Brie snd cranberry panni generous helping of bacon and Brie with a lovely side salad with dressing and tortilla chips included as a surprise bonus all for a very reasonable price

Can't understand how I've overlooked this little gem in my many visits to West Wight. It's small and basic but none the worse for that, very friendly staff and good food. We had the bigger breakfast which will keep you going all day, much better food than some of the more poncy establishments nearby. All in all a first class breakfast and excellent value, highly recommended.

My first time in this little cafe, but I was not disappointed. A nice sized brunch so sadly I was too stuffed to try a slice of there wide variety of cakes. My daughter also enjoyed the food, so we will be back.

Popped in here for a quick lunch whilst in the area and was pleasantly surprised. Very helpful staff, a simple but we'll thought out out menu with lots of everybody's favourites. Quality of food was excellent and prices very reasonable. I wish I'd ordered their breakfast which was served to a neighbouring table after I'd already ordered. It looked fantastic so I'll be heading back to give it a go. A great little cafe.

Found this place while looking for breakfast after getting off the Wightlink ferry. Parked in the car park down the road and walked back up. Great full English breakfast with generous portions. Fantastic looking range of cakes on offer just too full after breakfast to try one.

I go for breakfast in many places and these guys are superb, very friendly, quick service and great quality food. I've been quite the few times before and they never disappoint 🙏

We stay ay Heathfield Farm Camping regularly and often visit Sugar Loaf for breakfast. Very good food and service...we could even reserve a table on the morning we were leaving. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful home made cakes, a really good breakfast menu and great coffee. Well that’s me satisfied, I can only praise this nice friendly little cafe, please try it and prove me right!

Staff are friendly, owner is one of the nicest blokes you could ever meet. The homemade cakes are to die for! We travelled from Greater Manchester and couldn’t wait to go back for the cakes. We even brought some home with us for my parents.

My daughter was home for a few days frim uni, and as for the first time, we could could go out to treat ourselves to coffee and cake. So, we took a drive out from Ryde. First thing we noticed was someone repairing/assembling what looked like a chair in part of the seating area, which somewhat restricted our choice of seating. After ordering, I used the toilet, OMG.... The ultility area that the toilet as just off was less than parkling clean. The hand washing area was dreadful, old tacky tap, nott o clean sink, 2 open water stained (just tained)"rustic" style wood boxes under sink with what I assume was cleaning product in it (COSHH regs state that they should always be locked away). The toilet was even worse, toilet seat should have been replaced long ago, floor was filthy, water meter on full show on the wall. No hot water when I went to wash my hands. I dropped my mask on the floor, an, when I bent down to retreve it, I wa horrified at the amount of dirt, dust, crumbs and who knows what on the floor. It got no better when we came to eat our cakes. They were totally inedible, the coffe was if not exactly grim, was really basic, and left a horrible taste in our mouths. The cakes were inedible, stale, dry and tastless. I told the server that we could not eat it, we got sour looks, ans were to be fair offered a different choice, but they did not appeal, especially considering the general lack of cleanliness. We were refunded the money for the cakes, but as my daughter pointed out when we were out the cafe, where she works, part-time, when a customer makes a valid claim at the unacceptabe quality of the food, the whole cost is refunded. Even at pre-pandemic times, I expecedt food outlets to be 100% clean, and food to be fresh.

i wasnt sure after a recent low hygiene rating but the food is quite nice! is more of a large dining room than a cafe. it gets quite smokey at times! the staff are lovely also. just maybe a bit more organisation required!

Family place, good service,good food

I come here fairly regularly and have the Italian Breakfast Bagel and tea...just the job for lunch! A friendly venue and I recommend it.
