Really lovely. Never been before but selected as midway for family to meet for a 60th birthday. Lovely pub and the food was great. Service was fab and even though half our party was an hour late, due to traffic, there was no issue with keeping the table and waiting etc. Will absolutely come again.

I can’t comment on the Sunday Roast food because I didn’t have any. I phoned to book and spoke to the Girl and we agreed I would arrive in late lunch time in 45 minutes. Also I very surly wanted to check something with her, ‘so I asked the girl, if all the different meat verity’s beef pork turkey is available still. She assertively said yes. Upon my arrival the girl upon greeting me then said all the Sunday roast meat had run out it was now all gone. Clearly that was bad news and sloppy to say the least bearing in mind I made my self expressly clear when calling and they even call themselves Beef…..

We had a fabulous stay at The Cricketers this weekend just gone. .... perfect location for our family get together. Really welcoming upon arrival as we were met by Sophie who was a real gem the whole weekend ... she is an utter asset to the place ✨️ (thank you Sophie) had a lovely cosy sleep in a comfortable room. On Sunday morning for breakfast we stepped into the pub and all the fires were lit which made it SO cosy - we could of stayed all day!! Breakfast was continental included in room price - which was fresh & plentiful - we also opted for hot breakfast & it was cooked exactly how we'd asked - it was de-lish !! Overall LOVE The Cricketers!! ❤️ 🏏 & love that they are so relaxed about dogs, Linguine loved her stay & the dog treats at the bar!!! Really gorgeous weekend ✨️ We will definitely be back! Disappointing. We usually come here in preference to other similar places in the area as the service is usually good. Today was just not acceptable. Waited patiently while two staff members were at the till chatting with an elderly lady customer who it seemed they either knew or may be a regular. No problem with that Next in the queue was a staff member. Again no problem with that, but the two staff members behind the till then had a good laugh, joke and sing song with the third member. What I did have a problem with was waiting for 5 minutes in a place which wasn't particularly busy, without an acknowledgement or any sense of urgency that we were waiting in the queue. Leaving aside the fact that it should only take one person to work the till, I just won't tolerate such poor customer service. We simply left and went elsewhere.

This pug has a comfortable ambience, great staff and a good selection of food on the menu. As a four we come about 4/5 times a year to catch up and the Seven Stars provides a wonderful option where we are well looked after and not rushed. The menu is extensive and after coming here for a number of years we have yet to find an option which is less than really good. The drink selection is, as you would expect from a country pub, wide-ranging including a few local brewery options and low and no alcohol options. The restaurant foot print is big but when booking for special events, like valentines, and in the evening, is advisable. The car park is big and well laid out and if you are coming from the east and miss the entrance(I often do) there is a second entrance just abut 100 metres further on. Enjoy!
