Wonderful pub , just how a pub should be . Lovely simple food , so cosy . Clare is great and makes sure that everyone is made to feel welcome .

Unassuming building but once inside, the service and kitchen was brilliant. Delicious lunchtime sandwich, really fresh and dinner was superb. Bed was large and super comfortable with lovely linen. Nice hot bath, all spotless. Really enjoyed this little place

I came for an evening meal on a Tuesday evening , nice atmosphere and good food , this place has rooms but didn't stay, so can't comment

Disappointing. We usually come here in preference to other similar places in the area as the service is usually good. Today was just not acceptable. Waited patiently while two staff members were at the till chatting with an elderly lady customer who it seemed they either knew or may be a regular. No problem with that Next in the queue was a staff member. Again no problem with that, but the two staff members behind the till then had a good laugh, joke and sing song with the third member. What I did have a problem with was waiting for 5 minutes in a place which wasn't particularly busy, without an acknowledgement or any sense of urgency that we were waiting in the queue. Leaving aside the fact that it should only take one person to work the till, I just won't tolerate such poor customer service. We simply left and went elsewhere.

Really nice setting and resturaunt, unfortunately the service was really slow for us and the roast dinners were average (roast potatoes were hard and seemed not very fresh).
