A great Beefeater decided to visit the Great Oak as our usual ( Rusty Cutter) has closed. Great menu and was able to use all our coupons. We were served by Harley. Thanks to all the friendly staff. Price is good 👍🏻 if you have a coupon. Dessert 🍨🎂 was lush 🤤. Would recommend. Clean and tidy 😉.

The food was very enjoyable and the service was great. Our lovely servers Beth and Liv were very helpful, funny and made our experience all the more enjoyable. We look forward to visiting again.

Food was disgusting the peas were best part, eggs slimy steak unedibile, chips tasted as if they had been cooked and cooked many times have been before and had lovely meals we could see they were short staffed but waiting 40.ins after we had eaten starter was a long time had to ask if we had been forgotten probably would have been better if we had.

It was our 63rd wedding anniversary and we decided to go out with our daughter and son-in-law for Sunday lunch at the Great Oak. Our waitress was Darcy who was perfect in every aspect, service, information and looking after us. Food was very good and served within a very reasonable time. We were also treated to a card and box of chocolates. Thanks to all the team at the Great Oak.

We had breakfast at the Great Oak after staying in the Premier Inn. The food was cooked fresh, came out hot and most importantly was delicious! We were served by Beth who was very friendly and extremely helpful! Beth is a credit to the Great Oak. We will be back for sure if we come this way again.

Well what can i say. What a place to know. The food was to just die for. Staff??? Just wow yet again. Megan bless her served our every need with no hesitation. Great all round staff. Great food food. Beefeaters don't have the individuality of smaller independent restaurants of course, but they are great for a larger family gathering. The Great Oak is one of the best I've used - we visited early evening in a family group of six, from age six to seventy-something. The food was good and the table service was excellent, thanks to the attentive service of Darcy.

My waitress Darcy was excellent throughout Good prompt polite and efficient. Even got some free fries would recommend.

Came here for a Sunday roast with my family. We had Emilia as our server and she was very welcoming and made us feel at ease. Will be coming here again.

We had a lovely food, fillet was very slightly chewy, but the rest was excellent. Olivia our waiter and George (barman) was excellent at their jobs. So polite, helpful and quick on response. Also had a lovely stay in the premier inn.

Food very good, had fish and chips. Our waitress was first class, friendly fast. The host at desk needs education in friendliness. Virtually empty restaurant, yet big song and dance about booking and availability. No eye contact, sullen, then sat us away in a corner in a pokey table with hard chairs. Management needs to have a word. Maybe recommend he irons his shirt

Met the manager “Mike Forster” working with his team he was jovial, professional, friendly and was able to recommend dishes and drinks with an in depth knowledge of each dish. Although clearly busy he and his team made me and my family feel welcome and would highly recommend.

Don't go there for a roast on Sunday at 4pm. We did, only to find they had "run out" of all their roast dinners!

I can not understand how busy this place is, with such poor service and poor quality of food.

It would have been more enjoyable if the waitresses had friendly smiles on their faces and the service was quicker.

We booked last minute to have a roast, when we got there, no roast. We chose steak, mine was nice, my husbands was very fatty. There was quite alot of dishes from the menu they run out of. The restaurant is very nice and staff were polite. Shame the food wasn't so great.

Food was ok, but the service was terrible. We were seated and our orders taken relatively fast, but once the food arrived I think they just forgot we were there. No one came to check up on us, I ordered a three course kids meal and my son never ended up getting his dessert as no one took our order for it despite us mentioning we needed to get the dessert. We were going to order dessert for ourselves also but after waiting more than 30 mins we decided to just leave. Id like to think it was because they were busy that night but when one staff member is stood drinking a can of energy drink and another is leaving the kitchen sipping from a bottle of Budweiser, I think maybe they were just uninterested in doing their jobs. They even gave us the wrong person's receipt once we paid, and didn't offer an apology for the missing items from our meal order.

Had a lovely roast dinner on Sunday 8th Sept, was served by darcy who was very friendly and helpful, will definitely be going back again soon.

After nearly not bothering to go to The Great Oak for my husbands birthday, because we couldn’t book a table online or by phone as they both said ’no availability’ we just thought we would just go, only to find the place quite quiet! The food was very good, there were 5 of us and my daughter-in-law is dairy free, we were served by Michelle. We all had an enjoyable meal.

Popped in for lunch and was served our main quite quickly. However, we wanted a dessert and were sitting waiting ages to order as there seemed to only be only one waitress serving. In the end, we gave up, and I had to go and find someone to get the bill! We could probably have just left without paying, and nobody would of noticed..

Seated quite quickly. Server came over 10 mins later and took our order and this is where things went down hill. Rum and cokes came, and unfortunately the coke was flat. Starters came, halloumi fries were pretty good but the flatbread not so much. Had ordered the garlic flat bread with cheese. No cheese could be found. And it was limp, like it had been microwaved.....tiny portion, limp, colourless flatbread. OK, so hasnt started well. Mains were the surf and terf and ribs..... surf and turn consisted of steak and 2 prawns.....more turf than surf. No sauces and other condiments were offered either. So all in all quite disappointed. Oh and the chicken and ribs was alright.

Lovely atmosphere. Phoebe was our waitress tonight and she couldn't have been more helpful.

Went here on a spur of the moment (Belly rumbling) feeling with my daughter. Great staff, really friendly. Pancakes and bacon was a hit with my lil one. 5*

we had family meet up Michelle could not do enough for us some party running late she gave us time for the rest to join then gave us time to ordered nothing was to much hassle great relaxed place and brilliant roast dinner

Standard beefeater franchise restaurant but there seemed like more prawns in the prawn cocktail and service was very quick & attentive

We use the Great Oak regularly and always find Jackie and all the staff helpful and cheerful . We normally are with my 93 year old mother in law they always take good care of her.The food is always good value and tasty

Myself and a family member enjoyed a lovely breakfast here. There was a fantastic choice and great quality. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. A lady called Jackie served us and she gave excellent customer service. We will definitely be going back.

Not only are the premier in. Staff very professional and helpful, Dawn , Betty , Jay , Debs but the Beefeater staff are amazing, , Kimbo , Mike , Max , Megan , George , Harley . I have been coming here for several years and am always made to feel at home and I know that the crew thoroughly enjoy their work and it shows . Keep it up guys

Booked a table for Father’s Day. Arrived on time for our booking and we were told it would be an hour wait before we could order our food??? When we asked why, we had booked a table they said it was Father’s Day? Completely ridiculous and poorly run.

I ordered the Rib Eye Steak. I was asked how I’d like it cooked. I asked for Medium Rare. The steak came out medium to well done. I was so hungry I didn’t send it back but steak chefs should at the least be able to judge the cooking of their steaks. This is what this restaurant specialises in. :)) Maxine served me. She’s was very friendly and professional.

Robyn was lovely, quick service and no pressure. Very honest and kind.

Food was great but had to endure the slow service from staff who were walking about like zombies and not paying any attention to who needed serving. Luckily a change of staff happened whilst I was waiting or else I could have been there a while.

The food was great and the service was great. The toilets led into the hotel which was surprising. I feel that each table should have a plug socket or USB charging as we ran out of power on my phone and almost got lost on the way back home.

Had a brilliant evening. The service was excellent our waitress Robyn coped perfectly. Had our golden wedding anniversary celebration and the atmosphere was amazing. We were given a bottle of wine a box of chocolates and a card from the staff.

Breakfast service was a bit slow and the scrambled eggs watery. Sausages and pastry were nice though. Coffee machine didn't make great coffee.

Had lunch today with my mum and was served by Megan. She was rushed off her feet as she was the only waitress working and still didn't fail to give great service to us. She was waiting on at least another 6 or 7 tables, clearing tables and relaying. Just wanted to say what a credit she is to the Great Oak, can't fault her. Will definitely be returning. 👌

Unpleasant visit. Food wasn't bad, service poor, found a fly in my sons desert. Told one of the servers about this, no apology. She replaced the desert and walked off. However, others were being greeted and served with a smile. Not in our case. Would have thought something would have been deducted from the bill as a result of this. Nope! Won't be visiting again. Very unfriendly and unwelcoming atmosphere. Do better Beef Easter (Petersfield).

Bit of a wait to be seated, but then everything was great, food and drinks were very good , just a shame there were some extremely noisy people.

We arrived back in Petersfield yesterday evening after an overnight stay in Croydon to attend a funeral. We were very impressed with the meal, the atmosphere and the service. Our waitress, Beth, was wonderful, so helpful and attentive. We would certainly recommend the Great Oak to others.

Beth made our visit. She was so kind to our daughter and I've never had experience like this before at a beefeater. Genuinely great food, fast service, polite people and so glad we didn't stop at a McDonald's or anything like that. Worth the stop there!

Food was dry, service was slow, waited 17 minutes from receiving the bill to actually paying, unacceptable service for a Friday lunch.

Darcy was great! Quick and polite service. Food was also fast and delicious. Prices were also fair.

Great front of house staff are let down by a lacklustre menu and a kitchen that needs direction. Garlic bread had barely any taste and was soggy and limp. The breaded mushrooms were bland. The main courses were disappointing and only the deserts saved the food from being a complete disaster. Won't be returning but again... the front of house staff were brilliant.

Had a lovely family meal last night and Robyn our waitress was very helpful and friendly. Food and drink brilliant, highly recommend the Gt Oak and all staff.

Had a lovely evening at the Great Oak, with a good choice on the menu that caters to all dietary requirements. The food was prepared very quickly, was well presented, and tasted lovely. The service was the outstanding that we received from a lovely young lady[Maxine], who was knowledgeable and very friendly and went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed. Well done to all the staff and we shall definitely be returning...😃

Very friendly staff and good service. Nice atmosphere and music playing. Food was quite good however my steak was a bit pink. Apart from that very good and will come back!

Closed at 10 pm without any real explanation why, very disappointing. Portions incredibly stingy, didn't realise potatoes were a luxury food item.

Usually good service and food here but today the wait to be served for main meal, and desert was inordinately long. Very short staffed and the restaurant was not really busy. Other customers getting similarly irrated. Main course lacking one component and the food was only just acceptably hot.

Wish I had don't gone there. Food was that bad none of the 3 of us could eat it

We had a table booked for 7 people, the food was good as always, the prices were great & our waitress, Maxine was very friendly, helpful & done her job with a big smile. We will be going back.

Food wasn't great. Steak was the fattiest thing I've seen for a while. It was the hottest and the 2 tables either side of us actually sent their meals back to the kitchen as they were cold. The server (Robyn) was a positive during the visit. She couldn't help enough.

Arrived shown to table quickly. Orders taken. Got them wrong. Asked service staff (young gentleman) to find out where the gluten which was ordered had got to(ten minutes ago) and to to get one out party's order for extra breakfast. He ignored it. I then asked him again 10 minutes later. He ignored that. Fed up of waiting and watching him clear tables we left. If I hadn't prepaid I would have paid less

We arrived and were served with a smile by a very efficient young man. We ordered and our food came out with good time. The food was hot . My food was sufficient, my wife ordered a steak n ale pie, of which was well under par . We quietly complained, the young server , was on the ball , all was sorted without any problems. The breakfast was superb, good quality ingredients. The waitress, had a great sence of humour, with a good local knowledge. All in all I can recommend this pub/restaurant. Adjacent to the Premier Inn, of which was clean well sticked and lovely beds n pillows. 😀

Decided to try it one moor time and yes you guessed it. Food was unedible once again Will never have food there again

I don't think the chefs care I don't think the waitresses wanted us there from the start The scrambled egg wasn't mixed throughly and over cooked I don't know how the poached eggs get cooked I think they must be steamed in the convention oven they were like hard boiled eggs the sausage over cooked the hash brown had been cooked for a few hours they were over cooked hard and dry I'm sure it's not easy lots to do but I just want a good breakfast, the toast coffee and juice was nice but the main event was poor ,
