We stopped over in the car park with two other motorhomes. Peter and his partner were very accommodating. Lovely choice of food which was Thai based with an English option.

A quick Britstop on the way home. We had a parking space in the overflow car park across the road, which was on a slight slope and subject to minor road noise. The pub was quiet so service was prompt and very friendly. The live music added to the ambiance for a chilled Sunday afternoon. The Thai food was very good, tasty and portion sizes reasonable. Service was a little slow but no particular bother for us. We would happily return there if in the area.

I’m always honest about the experience. Great starters but clearly bought in not home made after being told it’s all made fresh to order 🤔literally just thrown through the fryer. The hot drinks were horrendous not a authentic cappuccino, I don’t know what it was suppose to be 🤔it had vanilla added to it for some reason very very sweet! The mains were sent out incorrect not once but twice and cold. The fish and chips were served with stone cold peas and hard chips. The fish was nice tho. All other dishes were a mess the chicken wings embarrassing actually shocking. The Satay chicken was an insult so so so small embarrassing small! We left more of the mains than we actually ate. I’d say at just under £100 it was shocking a 4/10 at best. The pub used to be a lovely place that’s going back a couple of years ago. Honestly I found the experience cringeworthy at times. Obviously we will not be returning as there was nothing authentic about the experience. I checked the reviews out after other than before which was a big mistake.£97 worth definitely NOT! The drinks weren’t just bad absolutely SHOCKING BAD!

We visited this pub today with friends. This pub could be a little goldmine but sadly the owners are disinterested at best. The meals we had were honestly the worst we have ever had. All the food was cold. One of our part had their chicken reheated in the microwave. Had the food been hot it would have still been inevitable. The owner told us he had a wide range of gins which was true if one is looking for every flavour of Gordon's gin. He couldn't even prepare and serve a drink. My husband's coke came with an old squashed straw.in the glass and the owner was barely apologetic. Such a shame as this pub is only a couple of minutes walk from our friends' home. Sadly we will never be visiting this pub again and will in future have to go further afield. Our advice- don't bother even if you are desperate for food and drinks

Booked a table for our wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were told to sit anywhere, they hadn’t even bothered to reserve a table for us. We ordered a pint for my husband and a G&T for me, pint arrived quickly and we then watched the guy behind the bar serve several other people that came in. After waiting 25 minutes for the G&T we decided enough was enough. Working in the pub trade myself, I like to support local business but definitely will not be back to this one.

We came of the A3 at Selborne looking for somewhere to stop and eat. Glad we did. Turned into Greatham Village just a few minutes away. Then found the Greatham Inn. Advertising Tai food. Deceptively spacious pub with a garden. Limited parking but village has plenty of on road spaces. Friendly welcome, nice cold beer and loads choice where to eat. Looks like it has recently been taken over so undergoing change. Sat in garden area, waited for our family and then ordered from the menu. Didn't wait too long and were very happy when it turned up. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend. Fabulous green lipped mussels, delicious chicken stir fry, crispy duck salad and a beef salad.

Don't like to write bad reviews. However... Visited Greatham Inn on the way back from business meeting and boy, what a place! The pub itself is decent but as I enjoyed a drink the (I presume) locals wandered in and out for a pint and chat. People in pub nice as pie to their faces but as soon as they left would slag them all (!) off as being weird. Literally every single person! Fascinating to observe but seems an odd way to run a pub even if I'm no expert. Think I'll stick to the city as much as possible and avoid places like this Inn. Give it 2 stars though as building is stylish.

We came as a big group on a Saturday night. There were around 30 of us. We had pre-ordered the food from a set menu and was looking forward to a 3 course dinner.Let’s start with the pro’s;1) lovely staff2) quick service3) clean toilets 4) cosy feelThe main con was the quality of food provided. The soup tasted like it was straight from a tin, the salmon was bone dry and the raw new potatoes made it almost inedible. Sadly, the other meal choices didn’t fare much different and many of us left hungry and disappointed.I am hesitant writing this review as I understand local businesses should be celebrated and I do not want to put any future customers off. This pub has a lot of great potential but the quality of the food must be improved. Every dish tasted heated up and like it wasn’t prepared with an ounce of love or care.If the food can be improved, I would recommend the pub to others. I really hope this issue can be addressed as the other aspects of the experience were great. Please take this review as constructive criticism and not a character assassination.

I hosted two eccentric elderly ladies for an evening meal. They extolled the virtues of their local pub since they knew the place for the past 60 years.... but added that the lease was not going to be renewed? Probably a good thing. The pub has seen better days but has a chef who travels in from portsmouth and wasn't there on our visit. Our waitress might have been more cheery or else she had left her hearing aid at home? Food was okay for pub food.... but definitely not 'cheffed'. The barmaid didn't know what the best local on tap brew was..... ooooh boy..... one must be polite in the company of elderly matrons on a pub crawl. If the owners were there we didn't see them ... or even get a 'Is everything okay' visit. Local restaurant pubs have a lot to do if they want to stay in business..... take care of your precious customers if you want to stay in business!!

Our U3A walking group stopped off here for our lunch after the walk one cold January day. My wife and I had driven past on many occasions and were not too taken with the exterior appearance. Imagine our surprise when we entered, to find a roaring open fire and all beams and sparkling bright work of a lovely country pub. The food was excellent and was cooked to perfection by the Landlady's husband. My choice of Liver and bacon with mashed potatoes, onion gravy and seasonal vegetables was superb and would satisfy the heartiest of appetites. The Oyster mushroom and champagne risotto served for my wife was, so she said, just the right amount and amazing. Others on our table had Braised pork belly, Beer battered cod and Welsh rarebit and all enthused over the quality. Service was quick, efficient and very friendly. We certainly will return.

Lovely pub with an open fire. We ordered drinks and i ordered a bottle of orange juice and a bottle of pineapple juice in a glass topped up with lemonade and ice but when it arrived did not have orange juice, not a great start. We decided on garlic mushrooms as a starter each at £6.50 a portion and when it arrived to the table they were presented very nicely and tasted superb. Next the main of Gammon egg and chips for myself and a nut roast for my partner. The nut roast superb in flavour and the same looked great. The Gammon when i ordered i asked was it a thin gammon or a nice thick gammon and the lady serving us said it was a nice thick one so i decided on Gammon. When the meal arrived to the table i could see that the fat on the Gammon was uncooked and the Gammon itself curled up in the air both sides where it was so thin. The gammon was full of gristle and the chips undercooked and hard in places. I took the Gammon of the plate and the egg and sent the chips back as they were clearly not fried enough. I took a picture of the Gammon but have chosen not to upload it as i spoke with who i believe to be the landlady and she seemed like she cared and wanted to rectify the problem and ended up not charged for the main meal. The chips were perfect when they came back to the table. We decided on a dessert to share and the same as the starter SUPERB. The dessert delivered to the table by the Chef and obviously he was proud of his desserts presentation and yes it did taste and look very nice i have uploaded this picture. So to sum up the experience it was OK. I was going to leave a poor but decided on an average on the food side but this was down to two things, the land lady's attitude in rectifying the problem and the fact the starters were nice and the dessert superb. Would we return to the Greatham Inn yes more than likely but Gammon will not be my choice next time round. We eat out nearly every night so over the past few years have eaten in hundreds of eateries. I love my food and i am a Chef by trade myself ,so its nice to have others cook for me. I noted on the bill that you charged us for two bottles of juice but like i said earlier there was no bottle of orange juice added!!!!

Things have definitely changed and not for the best. The lunchtime menu used to be great. Great choice at a fair price. However that is clearly in the past. The staff look like they want to be anywhere else and this is reflected in their lack of of interest in the the customers and their token effort (if any) in assuring the customers are enjoying their experience in the pub. To use the term "Chef" is stretching a point. The "Cook" is wearing Chefs whites, something that has to be earned. I am shocking in the kitchen but I would beat this guy hands down. Too little. Took far too long to serve. Over priced. Over cooked and it tastes as if it was bought from Iceland. The bread was at least 24 hours old. However it's not all bad. There is a burger van on the the nearby bypass that does a better job. Appalling........

This pub has recently changed management but have never used it before so have no comparison to make. What I can say was that my wife and I received a very warm welcome and it was great to actually go into a pub where the people running it are so pleased to see you. There weren't too many people in as it was a wet, cold and windy September evening which is a shame as the food and service were excellent. The surroundings are comfortable and clean and there were four great real ales (Bowman's Swift One, Sharps' Doom Bar and Atlantic, and St. Austell Proper Job) all of which I tried and all were excellent. It was Tony's Pie Night so had a steak and ale pie - great to see a good-sized individual short crust pie arrive rather that the miserly slices or bowls of stew with a bit of puff pastry slammed on top that you get so often. And the chips were hand-cut, too - only know of one other pub (in Northumberland) that does this. Fantastic. Am rounding up a load of friends to go over there to try it for themselves, it was so good! Looking forward to returning soon, just a shame it's a bit of a trek from home!

We visited the Greatham Inn on business, having heard the the pub had newly reopened with new owners Tony (Chef) and Denise (front of house). They have only been open for a few weeks and are still decorating some areas and adding their touches to the place. The restaurant area (20 odd covers) is clean and attractive and the menu choices wide ranging - we had a fish and chips dish, the fish was well cooked and the chips excellent. Certainly worth another visit as Tony and Denise get themselves settled.

The Manager needs to learn how to speak to customers, very rude and unprofessional. Sadly gone downhill. It use to be so much better.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Special mention to Beth, who seems to work all day everyday! She remembers us everytime we visit. Comfortable room with everything you need.
