Booked this venue last minute for a group of 14. Have visited many times previous, and have always had a great experience. Lovely venue, friendly staff and nice food.

We popped in today and we're very pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing. The best veggie 'salt beef' sandwich I've ever had. The service was fast and the staff friendly. I can't wait to go back, and I can't recommend this place enough.

The pub was fully booked but it was still disappointing to have to wait an hour before receiving our food. We visit quite often and it’s never been this long. Food was good when it arrived though. Atmosphere and staff are lovely.

We were a table of 11 squashed in a very tight space, despite the restaurant not being full. We were placed inches from an extremely hot radiator, we could not have put the children next to it for fear of burning. The poor dogs were panting as so hot, we were all very uncomfortable. When our drinks arrived items were missing, despite us asking the waitress to repeat the order back to us (as we had waited so long for anyone to come and take our order we wanted to make sure it was correct) but then turned up with missing items. When our food order was taken an hour after sitting we were informed there were no roasts, no nut bake, no chicken. We were informed we should have been told when we were seated, which we were not. After quite some after our order was take, the waitress came back and told us there was no fish (which one of the group had ordered). When the food came out a child's soup was missing, we were told they had run out of soup. Service took soo long, that from sitting down at 5pm we still had not had dessert by 7.15 and it was children's bed time, so we had to leave and they ate their ice cream in the car on the way home. This was the first time any of us had been to The Seven stars and it was not a great experience.

The worst roast dinner I have been served in a restaurant ever, they had been sat for so long they were cold and the gravy had congealed, absolutely shocking. They should be embarrassed to actually serve to customers.

Always feel welcome here - two really lovely gents served us and were very friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious too. I would like to see a bit more variety on the menu such as pasta & chicken.

I cannot understand the poor reviews for this venue but reading them it seems they maybe struggle with larger groups on busy weekends, but me and my partner had the most fantastic 3 course dinner and service last night (mid week) and would go back again in a heartbeat. I also don’t get why someone on here has complained they where asked what they wanted to drink before being seated, there’s nothing worse then being seated and then being left to either twiddle your thumbs til waiting staff arrive or having to get up and go to the bar. Service was attentive and excellent throughout, we were offered a choice of tables, drinks arrived as we were seated, we both had the crab ravioli starter which was was just beautiful, followed by mains of shepherds pie and veal bourguignon which were both excellent and good sized portions, puddings were fairly standard pub staples of brownie and ice cream and a sticky ginger pudding with custard but both good. On top of all this they had an offer of a free bottle of house wine with two mains, we were given a bottle of a surprisingly good Spanish ganache/tempranillo and they leave you with the lid/cork so you can take it with you when your done, the only disappointment all evening was I forgot to take the wine when I left! Will definitely be back for a quiet midweek dinner for two, will keep an eye on the reviews for a Sunday lunch with a larger group as the jury still seems to be out but can highly recommended for a mid week evening, the beer was excellent too!

Very disappointed my expectations were not great going on a Tuesday and with the effects of Covid and inflation still affecting staffing and costs. We were greeted by the fact that the Sirloin, Salmon and Chicken were not on the menu for the day! The remaining choices although passable were expensive for what they were, paying nearly £18 for a small meat pie without the normal fresh vegetables which were an extra £3 something. Those vegetables were overcooked, very limited and consisted of mainly soft carrots with a v.small soft straggly brocoli pieces and a very small piece of leek in each bowl. With a drink each and a couple of small deserts (one sorbet and one mini pudding (4 of us) the bill was a steep £145 just acceptable if the quality was good. We shan't be going there again.

If you’re not part of the local yummy mummy brigade and have at least 2 kids at private school don’t bother going. It’s a shame as the menu looks good and the establishment also but having kids running round and babies crawling on the floor isn’t my idea of a relaxing way to spend my hard earned cash !

Booked a table for 11 people Sunday lunch, Pre-ordered our meals, we arrives and was taken to our table, which was set for 9, we managed to squeeze a small table on the end. We waited 35mins before asking the waitress if our meals would be coming shorty, told it would be 5 mins. We waited an hour for our meals to arrive The food was cold and the beef was tuff. Definitely would not return. Overall 0 out of 10

AWFUL!! We arrived having pre booked for 11 people but table only set for 9?? We had pre ordered all our food and arrived for our 12pm booking 50 minutes later no sign of our food and nobody came to the table to ask if we wanted drinks!! We went up several times and were eventually told 5 minutes the food would come out, 15 minutes later it came and was COLD!! The beef two of us had was so tough we couldn't cut it let alone chew it!!! To sum up AVOID AT ALL COST!! Mc Donald's would be better!!

Dropped in on a Thursday at 6pm and given a choice of tables by Charlotte G - offered drinks immediately and advised about the specials available in addition to the menu - although we had to order at the bar which is understandable given the day - we enjoyed a superb sea bass each and reasonably priced house wine - Charlotte and the two lads were very pleasant and keen - When paying the bill I’m personally not a fan of service charges but was told it could be removed - on seeing the receipt it does inform you that it is shared within the staff - which we didn’t mind given the service we received - certainly worth a visit !
