The best restaurants in Cherwell South East

Appalling litter in car park no wonder as bin at entrance to coffee house overflowing g with cups all around. Come on Starbucks take some pride

Left waiting ages to be seated in cold drafty corner. Wine was awful one pizza was okay the other, mine, vile soggy, hardly any cheese, staff were okay though, mostly.

Excellent food, amazing service, very reasonably priced. A much needed addition to the area

Against my own advice I returned whilst waiting for my car to be washed to have breakfast. This time it did at least arrive quickly and the staff were more efficient. However, the food was dire- "roasted" tomatoes weren't even warm, let alone cooked, as were the anaemic looking sausages. It was also notably more expensive than other cafes which offer a far better product. Frankly disgraceful. BE WARNED!!!!

This is a lovely coffee shop, food is good, and well priced, its just a shame the staff are unfriendly and miserable.

Absolutely incredible night with the Secret Supper Society for my birthday. Jules has been wonderful to deal with right from my first enquiry. The food was absolutely incredible. Clean plates all round. Amazing flavours with good size portions. Jules and her team were the perfect balance of attentive whilst leaving us alone to enjoy the meal in the beautiful dining room. We'll definitely be back!

Very disgusting, no hygiene at all food was dropped everywhere on the tables near the counter,staff is really rude with no customer serving experience.Placed my order waited for good 20 mins and the outcome was burnt naan and after calling them for this pathetic service,they didn’t bother to say sorry.

Half hour late delivery, amazingly it was burnt and cold. Hardly any toppings, honestly tasted like a value brand frozen pizza. Definitely avoid

Been using this Chinese for the best part of 40 years. When it was known as the Bamboo Garden. It’s a bit hit and miss now. Food use to always be excellent. But the owners have changed. Probably the reason why. I still very much enjoy it. But the family doesn’t. So we don’t use them as much as we once did.

Whilst I have long maintained that the reviewing of motorway service stations sounds like something Alan Partridge would pitch to the BBC, I did say I would review anything I came across that has a presence on TripAdvisor*, and so here goes with my 3rd service station review. Cherwell Valley is a decent enough stop off in Ardley, on the outskirts of Bicester. More importantly it is a great opportunity to get off the monotonous M40 for a little while. There are decent toilets (the most crucial element of a service station in my opinion) that aren't "inclusive" like that rubbish at South Mimms down in Hertfordshire, as well as the usual smattering of fast food outlets including the unjustifiably overpriced Burger King. There is a Greggs just outside the principle building, which is where I opted to eat before rejoining the M40. There is a K-Type Royal Mail postbox on site too, and this is something that delights me. The car park here is pretty badly laid out, and the spaces don't seem particularly designed for larger vehicles, but there are plenty of them, so you should be fine. * so long as they can be bothered to upload a photo at the very least.

Stopped to charge the car. Store was closed due to a card fault so used the drive thru! No issues. Went to the door to see if they would let our daughter use the toilet (it had been a long drive). The rudest old lady was sat in her Modus outside stuffing her face. Stated she was a member of staff. We asked if they could let us in so our daughter could use the toilet - her growl/reply "No - we are not a services love". Then back to stuffing her face!!! 🙄

Lovely service and products, plus a table with a view! Delicious prawn sandwich and flat white, lovely service staff, from start to finish, would definitely recommend.

I’ve never had a problem with this takeaway in about 20 visits over the years. Premises are basic, food is tasty. I’ve always phoned the order though then collected 20 mins later, never had to wait for long.
