I’ve never had a problem with this takeaway in about 20 visits over the years. Premises are basic, food is tasty. I’ve always phoned the order though then collected 20 mins later, never had to wait for long.

What can I really say !! Been here many times (hit and miss) so tonight to be told delivery 45 minutes and then 1 hr and 24 minutes later after calling about 13 times and not getting through ( caller busy ) then getting through at the same time as the lovely lady came to be told she was new and she was not as I had them on speaker!!! I asked for a discount and she (the owner) said £5.00 ?’ I said you are having a laugh our order was over £70.00 and she said that was it !? So don’t go there all I can say is the delivery driver was lovely I have her £60.00 and told her to get the manager to call me So I’m assuming I am now black listed What a shame

Honestly the service was good and came in 30 mins but our chips arrived with little black hairs all over the chips… (pubes?) me and all my friends are so disappointed. Sadly the friend that got the pubey chips was autistic and this really triggered her. I’ll be surprised if she eats chips again!! so therefore Don’t eat here unless you’re into that?. Besides that the other food is nice so i’ll give them that.

What to say about this Chinese? TERRIBLE!! Never been treated with such low level respect in my life. They told us once we had placed an order for collection the wait would be 15 minutes. We arrived and it was an additional 45 MINUET wait in the shop. They were to concerned about taking order rather then giving people there food. The phone was continuously ringing and they proceeded to tell people 15 minutes which was a lie. I’ve never been so disappointed in my life

Ordered food to be delivered arrived within 40mins. Food all lovely and hot. All food was flavoursome. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

When your told half an hour 45 minutes you don’t expect to phone up after an hour and a half to be told it is just being cooked. The order was placed when the business opened,at least call the customer to make them aware of the delay. I’ve had plenty of deliveries from you and will be looking elsewhere as I don’t appreciate how badly the business is now being run

How you can possibly run a business with this type of incompetence answering the phone is incredible We were told that this place is the best in the area Well if the quality of the food is anything like the dreadful customer service then the owners need to find someone who can not only enjoy their job but provide a level of service that can promote their business

The best spare ribs I’ve had I originally went in October but wrote this review after trying a second time, my wife loved her special fried rice and sweet and sour balls. Will definitely be back

My husband and I enjoyed a meal on Saturday night. We couldn’t get over the amount of prawns in the dishes. Everything was lovely will definitely be using them again. Puts Mayflower to shame

They forgot some of our order so we called and they dropped it off but wouldn't hand over the rest of the order at the door until we gave them back a single spring roll they had accidently given us which we assumed was complimentary. We had given the driver a large tip and requested this back due to terrible service which was refused. We also had a vegetarian meal which came with 2 slices of pork inside which is less the ideal. Really really terrible service and food quality.

We ordered for 4 people last night for delivery to the campsite we are staying on, well all 4 said meal was great and tasty, the service was excellent and cheap we thought, once again great in every aspect

We went Ordered in to order some food when we went to pay she complain that we had given her 30p too much. Once we had paid we stood outside waiting and she had come out and started yelling at us, whilst there was a car park full of people, we are literally two young girls just trying to get some food and she made us feel really embarrassed and uncomfortable. Then when the food is ready she gave it to us hold it by one handle and then chat to us and said bye I’ll we said thank you I will not be going there again terrible customer service.

Absolutely disgusting, this is what was delivered to me. Wouldn’t even feed this to my dog. rang up and was given abuse down the phone saying it was correct. Also a dish missing but she also said we had received thatThe woman was so rude on the phone I could not even keep arguing with her, all the reviews are about how rude she is but also the food they are putting out is awful Please avoid at all cost

NEW STAR CHINESE KIDLINGTON !!! WOWWhat can I say. Wouldn’t even feed this to a god dam dog. Absolutely shocked to hell to receive what I would have called my dinner. But ended up in the bin. Rang them up to tell them what they have given me for £20 of my money. To be told to f**k off, and I’m not aloud to have my money back for what is in front of me. This has well an truly ruined my evening.

Ordered from here for delivery on a Thursday night at 5.30pm. food turned up 2 hours later, cold and one dish looked like the driver had sat on it. Phoned them various times to ask where our food was, wasn't offered an apology or anything, just told the first time (after over an hour) "your food will be next out when our driver returns... Then after another 50 minutes "he's already left..." ... No apology and they still charges us for the delivery charge. I'd say the least they could have done is apologise and take off the delivery fee. Absolutely disgusting service and the food was cold and rubbishAttached are two photos. One of how one dish was delivered, half open and smashed. Inside were the "salt and pepper squid" squashed and cold. Never again.

Chicken chow mein I ordered was nothing like I expected. The chicken was very rubbery and the whole dish was watery. I ordered a soda and lime which came with too much lime in, sent it back for a replacement which tasted awful so ended up ordering water. When I went to pay noticed they had charged me for both drinks I had sent back and then the lady in charge told me I should have checked my bill before I had paid. No customer service what so ever.

Was told an hour for delivery. Waited two. Then a key ingredient of the lemon chicken was missing (the actual lemon sauce). Plus the soft drinks we had ordered. When I rang back I was told they would deliver in ten minutes my missing order. An hour later nothing turned up. No apologies. No refund. They simply didn't care. The food was cold. The service even colder.

I wanted to try the New Star Chinese as I’d had a bad experience with the Eastern Kitchen a couple of weeks ago and I find the Mayflower hit and miss!I had egg fried rice, S&S chicken balls, beef chow mein and chicken satay with vegetables. The portions were big and the quality was great! Really tasty, not oily at all like some dishes can be and I’m really glad I tried the New Star as will be going back again in the future!

Absolute appalled! Twice they have messed up my order and this time they told me if I have the prpain been again “tough” WILL NOT be going there again!

Very good food plenty of it. Service fast n good.nevet had any probs use them often...plenty of choice. Always hot n fresh.

El servicio de esta llevar es una basura. Pierda parte del pedido enviar comida equivocada y no parece importarle. Personas en el área hacia Kidlington sería mejor dar de ella. Prueba el Mayflower mejor servicio mejor comida y personal más feliz. Las estrellas ávidos si quieres una buena comida!

Hemos estado pidiendo desde aquí durante años y siempre disfrutamos de la comida y la entrega fue siempre razonablemente rápido, pero recientemente ha sido horrible! !El último par de veces hemos tenido que esperar más de una hora y media, luego cuando les llamamos para preguntar dónde estaba la señora dijo "estar con usted en 10 minutos" y luego 20 minutos más tarde me llamó otra vez y ella dijo que tenía 5 controladores y no teníamos ni idea de donde ninguno de ellos eran! Por este tiempo fue 11:00 (habíamos pedido en 9:00 pm!Porque estoy revienta siempre he dieron comida de allí y me encantó, pero ahora yo no toque! !

Tenemos regularmente ordenados de la Estrella, o New Star, ya que ahora se llama! Y siempre ha sido simplemente correcto.

A fabulous family run takeaway with great choice... the deep fried shredded chilli beef and the Satay chicken are superb and the Kung Po King Prawn are sublime...

Ordered egg fried rice and received a plain boiled rice. When I called them to say there had been a mistake they said the could not change as they were too busy. Very rude on the phone also food was very poor

Parecía ser muy popular, y el personal es muy agradable y la comida era buena comida de pub inglés. Tuve pastel de carne, guisantes y patatas y el pastel era muy sabroso como el resto. Mi marido tenía peces que disfrutó. Nos alojamos una noche, y aunque el desayuno era bueno, no había tostadas o mermelada, etc. Aunque el café era excelente.

Best satay dishes ever....sauce is amazing and they are always friendly...always had consistently good food...bring cash though as no credit card machine ( though there is one just across the road)

Used them lots of times in the past but now it's shocking!

Collected a few times and had a nice meal, this time what a nightmare food was rubbish very bland, communication not good not sure staff know the menu. Never again!

Ordered before was lovely... Ordered again and was horrible stodgy, over cooked, dry and tasteless... I called to tell them all was said 'go to sainsburys' seriously wouldn't go here again disgusting

Had duck and pancakes which was dry and pancakes ripped also had spicy chicken which was dry and tasteless more spice in my nans mop bucket,not even going to go into the social fried rice and the when I called to say about It I got told to go to sainsburies from the very rude women on the phone,NEVER EVER AGAIN ORDERING FROM HERE

Happy chap on the phone made ordering a pleasure. Delivery was prompt for a Friday night. It arrived promptly and was nice and hot. We particularly liked the special fried rice.

Very standard Chinese take away in Kidlington. Chilli and garlic chicken was great but chow mein was disappointment.

Very responsibly priced (in fact cheap!) By far my favourite Chinese and they deliver too and the food is still piping hot when it comes!

The Star has been there a fair while but seemed out of favour. It's now in new hands and so far it seems ok, but time will tell if they can improve on what went before. Menu seems rob standard Chinese fare but at least you know what you're getting. Give it a go, you can't go far wrong.
