My Chinese of choice. Love the food and always quick to deliver

Delivery is very slow, I've used this place for years but no longer. The amount of vegetables is ridiculous a slice of carrot is cheaper than beef not the cheapest takeaway in Banbury and not the only one

We order from Mr. Rice often, maybe 2-3 per month. The food is always good, delivered quickly and reasonably priced. Tonight the food was definitely the best we've tasted. The salt ad pepper tofu was the best we've had! Absolutely perfect. And my son said the crispy chilli beef was perfectly crispy on the outside and meaty in the middle. Would definitely recommend. Thanks Mr. Rice.

I recommend everyone to try Singapore fried rice.

Ordered twice and has been great service and food each time. We had the chicken & sweetcorn soup, veg chow mein, crispy duck and chicken in black bean sauce.

Worst customer service ever. They messed up my food and when I called to get it changed the woman started shouting at me and saying I’m in the wrong - i asked for no chillies and what do I get FULL OF CHILLIES. . How are you shouting at your own customer??!!!

The meals are usually good and the portions are good as well. But the whole service is completely let down by the delivery drivers. They tend to knock very aggressively/loudly and look very angry, which makes the whole experience scary if you are ordering at night. Might be best to look elsewhere.

A wrong order was delivered. I ordered beef in Thai chilli sauce but received crispy beef in chilli sauce. I am highly disappointed

Just ordered from here 10 minutes before closing. Delivered 20 minutes later and it's perfect. Amazing light special rice, sweet and sour Cantonese style with lovely bits of chicken. Will definitely be reordering, much improved!

Used this takeaway since moving to Banbury on a regular basis the food is good. As usual we called at 4.35pm for a 6.15pm delivery. Order taken. No arrival by 6.30pm so phoned. Driver is on his way I’m told. I politely asked if he was lost or can’t find us (we are on Google earth) to get him to phone me. They will pass message on. +30 mins food arrives driver tells me he could not find me as his sat-nave took him elsewhere. Food not too warm.

I’ve always enjoyed food from Mr rice however tonight very disappointing. My son enjoyed his food hence the star rating but I order myself duck and it was fatty , full of gristle , not hot and tasted really bland basically inedible.

I orderd Chinese noodles nd salt nd paper chips . Their food was really nice .

I have ordered Singapore fried rice . The taste was very good . Would recommend to all

We came across Mr. Rice one evening while looking for a different business in the area of their location. The worker at the counter was welcoming and the take away service experience was very good. Since then we order delivery service using their takeaway menu flier. Always receive excellent customer service and the food is definitely one of the best places for Chinese cuisine. Delivery is on time and the delivery driver is consistently friendly and courteous. Thank you.

Ordered Salt and Pepper Squid, the chef mustve thought i was allergic to Squid as the dish may aswell have been salt and pepper batter. Theres more squid in banbury canal then your dish. The tiny slithers of squid in each piece was an insult, congratulations on your theft tonight, and congratulations on losing a customer, i will definitely spread the news to as many ppl as possible and hopefully you will lose custom for this insult. Disgusting business practice. Dont rip ppl off.

Had a takeaway delivered, Thai red chicken curry. Chicken was undercooked and all fatty parts. Won't be ordering again

I hardly review places online but I've just realised how we must have ordered from Mr Rice a dozen times in the last year and we never go anywhere else anymore although we have tested some others out. Our families delivery choice is now always without fail an order from Mr Rice. The best places to go in Banbury have changed throughout the years so having grown up in this town, I know all about the others who have been good in the past but have now changed hands or changed chefs or whatever, and I don't know why but for whatever reason, they're just not as good as they were. I won't name and slander them but as far as we're concerned, if its in Banbury and it ain't Mr Rice then it ain't a good Chinese! We always call and the lady is always very nice and polite and never makes mistakes and ALWAYS repeats your order back to you to make sure nothing goes wrong. What's more, it's always on time, sometimes even early, everything arrives as it was ordered, it's always hot, and the hey, wait for it.... They never forget the coca cola!!! (Yes I know, how is this humanly possible?!) Well, I'll tell you now, either Mr Rice have some sort of hybrid superhero working for them or they have broken some sort of Guinness World Record for never failing to put the Coca Cola in the box. We always get the meal for 3, and we always get the beef satay, the honk Kong style pork and the king prawn with cashew nuts. Sometimes we'll have a cheeky flutter elsewhere on the menu but generally these are our favourite dishes. Absolutely bangalanging without fail. So I think it's safe to say that we love this place and we highly recommend it. 5 stars! :)

Ordered for the first time last night and was very very happy. I live in rural location 5 miles outside Banbury and they delivered on the dot at the requested time of 6.30pm . The food was very very excellent so i will definitely be ordering again soon. They also made my favourite dish of beef in black bean- without garlic for me.

Ordered food via telephone at 6.10pm was told 40min to collect went to collect got there at 6.50pm food was not ready loads people waiting inside also (no social distance was in place) at 7.40 asked how long would be food was still another 10mins could clearly see into kitchen young male kitchen staff member clearly don't understand that a facial mask needs to cover nose also clearly see he was not wearing it in guidelines set Got food home so disappointed ordered king prawns in black bean sauce was cold as well as over salted had to be bined. Special fried rice that contained small amount of chicken and pork nothing else bland and disappointed will look else where for Chinese food now on

I've ordered from Mr Rice quite a few times in the last year. Every meal has been delivered on time and the delivery person has been polite. The food is good (I wouldn't have returned for more if it wasn't) according to family members from 18 to 72. Thank you. And randomly I told them it was my birthday when I ordered the most recent takeaway and not only did they add some fortune cookies but the driver/deliveryman wished me a happy birthday. Would definitely recommend. The reason for 4 and not 5 stars? Honestly I'm not sure what 5 stars represents, possibly someone arrives, dishes out the food and then gives a talk about the origins of the restaurant, the provenance of the ingredients and then disappears in a cloud of smoke. Nice work Mr Rice, much appreciated.

We have used Mr Rice for along time, But over the last few weeks the food hasn`t be very good, To top it all this week 9/10/20 we orderd our food as usual to be delivered when it came was nearly cold and once again poor quality

My food came up to £25.90 and ordered 3 boxes of chips with rice and curry one of the boxes Had only 8 chips in it and tiny portion of rice. I rang the store and the lady was being rude and ended the ohone like they don’t care Worse place to eat from won’t recommend it

We decided to have a takeaway for a special occasion (husbands 70th) ordered by telephone the meal was delivered at the time specified was hot and delicious. The first time we had used Mr Rice and we will definately use them again. Thank you.

It was my step dads 70th Birthday we decided to have a Chinese take away delivered to our door. This was the first time in ordering food with Mr Rice and will not be the last. Absolutely amazing service and delivery and the food was very hot and delicious 5 star to all involved In our order. Thank you very much for making a birthday very special.

Had a takeaway from Mr rice as our usual Chinese was closed. The waiting time was fine and food was hot but it was tasteless and stodgy. We were not impressed with the food at all and wouldn’t come again unfortunately.

I have to say that it was very good. Food arrived in around 25 minutes was piping hot and really tasty ，I have to say was the best takeaway I have had ，Would definitely recommend.

Recently had occasion to order meals from Mr Rice, big mistake, food tasteless, rice over cooked so it was like stodge. Have since learnt that the hygiene standards hvae sunk to a score of zero, why were they not closed down ?.

Mr rice has gone down hill lately, last few times I've ordered from here my food hasn't been to its usual quality of standards. Will be using the good chef from now on until improvements are made. A complete waste of money as food isn't edible the whole thing tastes reheated!

Rice not included with curry. Bit ironic considering the name of the restaurant. Food wasn't even cooked fresh. It was reheated. Delivery driver was very rude. Told me to order earlier in the night because he can't be bothered to make deliveries after 11 o'clock. I ordered at 10.45 and it says they shut at 11. He was basically saying that he can't be bothered to do his job. His overall demeanour was hostile and rude. Absolutely disgraceful. No way to speak to a paying customer. We won't be ordering from them again.

Yesterday I ordered a chicken noodle soup, chef special Mongolian chicken and plain rice that was delievered to my home. The whole meal was delicious. The only thing I would mention is that for delivery we must spend over £10 but then to actually have the meal delivered it costs an extra couple of pounds on top of that. I had to buy curry sauce that I didn't want and I threw in the bin for £1.50 as my meal initially came to £9.80 and I needed 20 pence more to make £10 but the cheapest item was the curry sauce. They did send me chopsticks as requested though. 4/5 stars - because of the sting on delivery payment. I will eat from here again but maybe il pick it up next time.

Had an order delivered from here.last night.cooked exactly to our liking .i have allergies which i told them about meal came .i requested a time it was five mins before which was good.food cooked to perfection and absolutely no issues from my allergies what so ever.so give it a try and you will be impressed if you like chinese food .it is a take away not a restuarant so deliveries only.state a time and food is there.also if any special requirements state them and you will get exactly what you have ask for

absolutely AWFUL service. we were celebrating Mothers day this weekend and part of our gift to our mum was buying her a chinese takeaway. There was a large group of people and we spent a significant amount of money and they wouldn't deliver, which hindered some people from drinking the wine as the food had to be picked up. Also, they forgot a significant amount of food, they forgot two meals, the chicken balls, which were an important part of the meal. We rang up and they said that they would be delivered in 45 minutes. After an hour and a half, they hadn't shown up, so we rang AGAIN. They refused to deliver our food and said that they would send us a cheque through the post to refund us... which is quite inconvenient and probably unlikely. The staff were appallingly rude and food was average. I would avoid this takeaway if i were you.

Have used this Chinese takeaway ever since it opened and have always really enjoyed our meals. However this evening I have had one of the most disgusting meals I think I have ever had. Greasy, burnt, full of fatty meat and so many peas and onions! The taste of the ‘curry’ is nothing like a curry should taste. I will not be ordering from Mr Rice again! Very very disappointed!

Nice food never had a bad experience

Had my first take away from here the other day, firstly the lady was friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, hot and tasty we had chow mains and a chicken meal also the stir fried veg which was really fresh and crunchy. Fried rice just how I like it as well. This will now be my go to Chinese restaurant. On a separate note someone down there says they have a hygiene rating of 1 well I looked and it is actually a 3 which is generally satisfactory.

Rubbish chicken curry was terrible, it was like they through in square pieces of chicken into gravy .chips where soggy and looked dirty and pork chops where not fresh .very disappointing. And to top it of they don't have a card machine, i had to get in my car and go draw money .

Ordered a delivery this evening ( May 30th 2018 ) at 7pm , was told it would be delivered in 30 to 40 mins -- thats fine and acceptable. So at 8-20pm nothing has arrived , so I ring them yet again to ask where the food delivery has got to -- only to be told It will be another 40 mins to 1 hr , I was asked if this is ok and when I said NO IT IS NOT and this has happened 2 or 3 times before ,, no apologies or nothing , so called food has even turned up not even cooked to a friend of mine recently.

Just received our food, the order was wrong so I called them to correct it only to be called a liar even though she read the order back to me and it was was correct at that time. After getting nowhere with them we sat down to eat, food was tasteless, chips soggy and under cooked. Chicken and pineapple, if you could call it that only had 2 small pieces of chicken.Would advise anyone to consider another takeaway. Absolute rubbish food, poor customer service.

I tried Mr Rice for the first time this year and had two takeaways on two separate occasions, the food was excellent but have found out since that they had very poor hygiene ratings, 1 out of 5. I would like to know what measures have been put in place before ordering from here again. It’s a shame as I was very impressed with the food, and they had excellent vegetarian options.

I am starting to give up on Mr Rice Now, chewy chips, food only just warm enough to eat, very bland tasting, may be time for a change. Had a chicken curry with 3 bit of chicken, mostly onion and cold after only just being delivered. If you call they really are not bothered.

So wasn’t 100% after seeing local news of this establishment however couldn’t fault the place. Order consisted of over 15 dishes for a large group of us, food was ready quickly for collection, payment by card and the food was delicious and hot. There was no issues with any of it and everyone was so pleased we went to Mr a Rice rather than another takeaway. Let’s hope they’ve turned things around and they’re on the up again.

We have ordered from here for years, they do a great Chinese. HOWEVER, for the first time ever got delivered stone cold food. Called to ask for replacement as we do not have a microwave to reheat and basically told we were just after a freebee. Have never complained before or ever requested a discount. We were told it wasn’t cold and put it in the microwave. £30 in the bin. You’ve just lost a loyal customer Mr Rice

Decided to have a takeaway and after a family chat decided on Mr rice I had the hot and sour soup and was hot then had the salt and pepper king prawns all very good and piping hot very friendly staff when collecting

The best chinese in banbury even got my partner into ur food he had never order from you before and he loved ur prawn crackers and his bbq sauce and chicken balls and best shredded beef in chilli in banbury too u guys too an amazing job will never go anywhere else

Sells the best Chinese food in town and it's cooked quickly. The salt and pepper starter box is particularly good.

Have ordered from here many times but this time not as good as normal, chips were chewy, as if they had been reheated, main meal wasn't as tasty as normal, not as muxh flavour, below standard for here. May have to try elsewhere.
