Probably the best Chinese in Banbury, we have been going there for over 40 years. Tasty food at a decent price and the food is always ready for collection if you order by phone

Never eat at this place again absolutely rubbish pure dirt . Unbelievable how they can trade please stay away . I mean disgusting in every way. Bad attitude and the food is poison . Believe me.

Ordered lamb chops - got a tiny portion of meat that was 50% bone. Literally about 2 teaspoons size of meat for the price. Chef/takeaway you should be ashamed.

Friendly staff and quick service , sadly food let us down with most things covered in a gravy sauce - not stated and not everyone likes gravy! Lemon chicken was mushy and meat wasn’t like meat at all in places . A real shame won’t be using again sadly.

This is the worst chinese food I had in my life. Very disappointing. We will never buy here again

Good food at an increased price.

A bog-standard cheap takeaway. There menu has the standard options of a British Chinese, and doesn't really do anything to alter the standard sauces, so you can certainly get a better meal. But if you want something cheap, fast, and unsurprising (which is a normal thing to want), this place will do.

Nice Chinese Takeaway, friendly and polite, and food is nice. I ordered a Chicken Chow Mein with some curry sauce and crackers, price was a bit on the higher side, but recommended to those who like to indulge in a hearty meal from time to time. 4 stars.

Had my first take away meal from Safeway last night, I'm blown away, By far the best chinese food I have ever tasted so freshly cooked, it was brilliant.

Although we have tried other Chinese takeaways, we have always come back to Saveway as we are always pleased with our meal.

Fantastic food love it best in town

A happy return to see our family after a great visit to San Francisco meant a takeaway from this Chinese and English take away always a must. I rang an order through at 5.20 and was told to collect in 15 minutes. I did and bless them it was ready when I got there. Paid and loved yet again superb hot food that we all enjoyed. Nowhere will we go in future but this excellent establishment.

I came to this supermarket on a number of occasions purchasing numerous goods on many an occasion..my daughter bought an inflated ring within four hours the ring deflated...brought the ring back.., spoke to the owners son who flatly refuse any form of compensation...left the deflated rubbish product with him...no doubt he’ll fix and resell it again for €10...you have been warned, if your money comes easy then definitely go to this place...I’ve attached relevant photographs

Saveway on the Warwick road has been there since early 70’s, this was the first Chinese takeaway I ever went to, the shop always look a bit tired and the staff always miserable, you almost get the feeling you are interrupting them from watching TV, but the food was always good so you can forgive the service, if you ask what would they recommend they just look at you as if you were stupid, so you just order and wait. I have the set meal A, Chicken chop suey, sweet & sour pork, Special fried rice, they have obviously changed the menu the meal I had today was awful, the chicken chop suey had been changed to chicken and mushroom there was very little chicken in it and the sauce was tasteless and watery, the sweet & sour pork had been changed to sweet & sour chicken and the amount of balls had been reduced from 8 to 6, the pancake rolls have reduced in size a lot smaller and the filling was just beansprouts, so portion size reduced, menu prices go up, the chicken chow mein was dry, very little chicken, a bit of onion, mostly noodles, I will not use this takeaway again, it’s a shame as I have been going there for so long, time to go to one of the other Chinese takeaways in Banbury.

I always gave Saveway a pass on their tired decor and grumpy staff because the food was good, however, portion sizes have miniaturised and standards have hit the floor since I last used this takeaway. I have been a Saveway customer on and off for more than 30 years and Saveway used to be very good but not anymore. I live nearer Brackley now and mostly use the superb Jade House on the High Street, but recently found myself hungry and in Banbury. I ordered a number of old favourites including Chinese roast pork and chicken on fried rice, this has always been served in a round foil container, a generous portion of egg fried rice topped with delicious slices of pork and chicken and covered in a Chinese style gravy. As soon as I saw it I thought the foil dish looked much smaller than before. Opening the dish I was met with a half empty container, about an inch of fried rice containing one tiny piece of egg, 6 or 7 small pieces of sliced chicken and fatty pork and a few tablespoons of sauce on top - cost £5.50 - very disappointing. Now we all know rice costs pennies and chicken and pork are inexpensive meats and I would estimate the ingredients in this dish cost no more than 50 pence - that's over 90% markup! The chicken curry was basically a container of tasteless curry sauce with almost raw onions and a few slithers of chicken and astonishingly the pancake roll was approximately 40% of its previous size and tasteless too. The pancake rolls were one of the primary reasons I used this takeaway - no one served pancake rolls like Saveway's. On the positive side they have revamped and printed smart new menus with higher prices, I did take one but it's lining my bin now as I definitely won't be going back EVER. I'm amazed Saveway have a 4 star rating with tripadvisor- although it seems many of them are quite old and the 5 star reviews appear to be repeats from the same reviewer.

I think it all depends what time you go in, as to the food.. it can get very busy.

By far the best Chinese takeaway in Banbury with a long history of serving delicious dishes. We particularly like the curries, Singapore fried rice and Foo Yung.

Good Chinese for and restaurant. But the Best award-winning Taiwanese food is the Thai Orchid Banbury.

Worst Chinese takeaway ever, chow me in flavorless, chicken ball unprovoked properly and tasted like plasticchicken and gooey , rice ok, chips scabby sorry wouldn't go there again

Here we go with yet another review of this superb Chinese takeaway. Sorry to be so repetitive but I challenge anyone to find a takeaway anywhere near as good as this in Banbury. Still as helpful as ever and following our ordering by phone was just a couple of minutes longer than our requested time (30 minutes). It would be so easy just to purchase the same thing we enjoyed previously but our goal is to eventually eat our way through as many of the 103 dishes to choose from as we can. DO TRY THIS GREAT TAKEAWAY WHEN IN BANBURY THEY DELIVER IF YOU WANT.

Great tasty food, reasonably priced, served by friendly staff.

Just in Banbury for one night and fortunately this establishment was the nearest to where we were staying. A calendar, free chopsticks and delicious food means it will not be our last finish TRY THEM YOU WONT BE MAKING A MISTAKE.

We order from this Chinese on a regular basis. The food is one of the best in Banbury. Never had bad food and their delivery service is fantastic. Would recommend to anyone.

I good food poisoning last time I got a takeaway and had to have two days off work... Staff miserable, and uninterested (too busy watching the TV!)... food dreadful... Its terrible that they are SO bad considering they've been in Banbury for Donkey's years

Obviously at a takeaway you can only review the food, though lady behind counter pleasant though a tad brusque. Chicken chow mien and crispy chilli beef as a quick meal before travelling off abroad, totally bland and tasteless though what was disturbing was the old reheated flaky bits of chicken,obviously left overs. What ever was in crispy coating was as chewy as can be if from a cow I hate to guess what part it was,and as to any chilli ness I have had hotter toothpastes. Without doubt the worst Chinese I have ever eaten, I can make baked beans more tasty. Truly appalling why I went there I have no idea especially with paw paw in town.
