Great food and much cheaper and better food than ordering

The worst Chinese I’ve ever tasted. Chicken was slimy, rice undercooked, chips hard, prawn crackers stale, sweet and sour sauce like water. Called to let them know and was told to bring it back, I live 7 miles away. I’m not bothered about a refund…..this was just vile. Had a few mouthfuls and was heaving….gross 🤮🤢. That’s me put on Chinese for ever! 🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮

Local to me and the food is ALWAYS delicious. Always met with a smile and a friendly chat. Also way cheaper than most others. There is no delivery but I can't recommend highly enough. There is also the pub opposite if there is a bit of a wait for your food. Call it through and collect. You won't be disappointed. 10/10

Tonight was unfortunately the last time we eat from Eastern Kitchen. Crispy Beef was not crispy and tasted terrible. The beef chow mein, tasted like garden soil with tough bits of what I hope was beef, that had no flavour. The egg fried rice was dry and I couldn’t taste or see any egg. The giant spring roll was greasy, had no flavour. I was asked to be there at 18:45 and I got my food at 19:15 which would have not been a problem at all if they hit even 3/4 of the standard you would expect from a trusted Chinese take away. Extremely disappointed, with the price of eating out these days you expect a lot more….

Food is great but their opening hours are random and unreliable, don't trust what Google tells you. Gets annoying when you ring up to order and they're closed on a Friday night.

Probably the worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. Wish I had read the recent reviews. Sweet & sour chicken…over cooked & dry. Cashew chicken tasted like it had Ben cooked in watered down gravy. Special fried rice had a horrible fishy/oily taste. Pork ribs didn’t taste like bbq at all.

I’ve been really sceptical about Chinese food in UK, but from now on I know where I am going to enjoy it. Really nice staff and delicious food. Definitely going back there for more 😊 I’ll do photos next time.

Just checked their food hygiene rating it’s 1out of 5 with major improvements to food handling & hygiene recommended. Food is not a patch on the New Dancing Dragon in Summertown which is where I’ll be heading next time I want a take away

tasted 5 days old, no flavour, cold, took over an hour, absolutely inedible. wouldn’t order again. told we was getting it fresh yet was cold and horrible

Easily the best Chinese takeaway I've had. Friendly service. Excellent food quality. Reasonable priced and the portion is big. The place is also very clean. Definitely recommend it!

Seaweed too salty Prawn toast overcooked Chicken past it’s best Tasteless sweet and sour sauce

Small portions. Halal chicken. Chicken didn’t taste fresh though very hard and chewy. Service was great. Called and made the order lady was very helpful and catered to our needs. Food taste was below average. Basic, any English person would be happy with this low quality Chinese food. But this isn’t for world travellers who understand cuisines.

Some of the best Chinese I've had in a long time. Lived in Oxfordshire over a year now and tried most of the locals in Kidlington. First time trying here and I'm very impressed! Lemon Chinese was super tasty. Sweet and sour chicken balls were fantastic! Chicken chow mein went down amazingly and the crispy duck Oh my goodness! 10/10!

Waited over an hour for my takeaway (told it would be half hour). Got home to find one of the dishes totally wrong - a tasteless mix odiferous different meats and veg. Will not be using this place again…used to be very good..definitely gone downhill.

So it used to be good but has taken a complete nose dive. Kung Po was like vinegar, chicken with green peppers very odd and almost no peppers. Lemon chicken again, very vinegary and the chicken tough. Last two take aways have been dreadful and they're not cheap so that's it for us, never again. I can do better myself.

Good quality Chinese take away food at reasonable prices, what is not to like at the Star! Phoned our order for collection, the food was ready as promised, masks were worn sanitizer readily available at service table just inside front door.

I went in to order a take away, paid for it and waited for about 15-20 min outside and then I get called back in to be told that they have to cancel my order as they were too busy. So I had to walk away without food after I had paid for it, these independent food take aways have no costumers manars.

Really tasty food,friendly service , I always come to this takeaway and I live in Woodstock.

We have bought takeaways from here ever since we moved to kidlington 9 years ago. It is the best in the area by miles. It is always consistently good. In fact if we get one anywhere else when out of the area it is always a disappointment! Staff very polite and efficient.

Decent menu, usually well cooked and value for money. Shame they don't deliver.

We have always used this takeaway since we moved to kidlington 6 years ago! Never had a bad meal, food is by far the best in the area and always consistent! The only trouble is you do sometimes have quite a wait, but thats only because of how busy they are and how popular they are! If you want decent food you have to expect that sometimes! Reasonably priced and always friendly service.

We enjoyed our take away, a choice that based on good reviews, as not from the area we thought we would give it a try. We were pleaded with the food quality, portion size and welcome smile that greater us. A great experience, well done to the Eastern Kitchen team.

The food was very bad quality and even found a bone in my chicken chow mien. I ended up chucking the whole meal in the bin. Although the prices are cheap, it’s still not worth it and upon collection there was no where to Park! Very Disappointed.

Having now lived in the are for a few years, I have tried most of the Chinese takeaways in the village. Eastern Kitchen is by far my favourite. The prices are very reasonable, the portion sizes are very reasonable and all of the items I've had on the menu have been great.

Never been disappointed with food from here. Always first choice in terms of Chinese takeaways. Would recommend.

This is normally my favourite Chinese takeaway in Kidlington... however, not sure if they were having a bad night or they have gone downhill since last time I visited,but my meal was pretty poor! Ordered egg fried rice (which was nice but can’t exactly get rice wrong!), sweet and sour chicken balls (the balls were very dark brown, over cooked) and chicken satay OFF the skewers with cashew nuts. When home they had put chicken satay on skewers (4) in and they were incredibly dry and barely tasted of anything. Hardly any sauce in with them either! Such a shame as normally it’s delicious!

Love the food and use the Eastern kitchen whenever we want Chinese takeaway.

The food was good. Pork ribs were good. Sweet n sour chicken wasn't great and it was do it your self the chicken was actually like chicken nuggets and then a container of sauce was good, but coming from the USA sweet n sour chicken is a proper dish with chicken chunks mixed with veg and cooked with the sauce as a dish. The rest was good and hot would definitely recommend you go that was my first visit may go again tonight.

Been coming here for takeaways for 6 months, driving over 4 miles each way. It’s consistently better quality than our local Chinese takeaway. Tonight had superb ribs and sate sticks, plus excellent chow mein, chop suey, and more. Will keep returning.

Never been let down with our food, If you want some thing different they will make a meal up for you.

I moved to this side of oxford a year ago and looked up reviews of local takeaways. The reviews of this place are on point. The food is fresh, not greasy and reasonably priced. It has become an almost weekly tradition in my house.

Delicious Chinese food that is presented well. Always tasty whenever I turn up. I love the fact they have a restaurant​ so a takeaway can easily turn into a sit down meal.

We have been using this takeaway restaurant for years and it remains the best takeaway Chinese Restaurant in Kidlingon. Good range of the usuals and I particularly like their Chow Mein and CHicken in Black Bean Sauce.

Our usual once a month. The food is always lovely and hot. Easy to purchase online and delivered within am hour. Well recommended.

Went camping for the first time in years and had a lovely BQ Saturday but decided to have Chinese on Sunday , best Chinese we have had for a long time, ribs lovely , chicken balls very nice chow mien nice flavour , sweat and sour sauce very tasty, very good.

i have lived in the village all my life and always used the easten kitchen ive tryed others but this is the best nice hot food and lovley staff think the fact that they dont deliver lets them down will continue my custom to them

Bastante bueno llevar gente. Nos son nuevos a la zona y fue recomendado por un colega chino decente para una comida para llevar. los resultados ... Sí bastante bueno, más barato que anterior representante de condado y menos grasa. El servicio es bueno. No pudimos encontrar ningún defecto. Se lo recomendaría a otros.

Nacido y criado en derecha hacia Kidlington nunca ha habido una escasez de restaurantes y comida para llevar. La cocina oriental fue un evento quincenal y a este día, que nunca han perdido una mejor. El propietario de "John" utilizada para me reciben con una sonrisa y tenía mi pedido presentado a la cocina como entré al cruzar el umbral". He cambiado a Canadá donde he estado por más de 30 años. TEK es una de mis primeras paradas cuando vuelva el Reino Unido. su sobrina de John tiene tomada y no ha perdido nada. Las mejores "manos chinas de comida. Siempre fresco, rápida y precisa y consistentemente estupendo. Maravillosa relación calidad-precio - todo lo mejor para ellos. Nos vemos el año próximo.

Eastern Kitchen in the best Chinese takeaway EVER. My family always ordered from here and when I visited Kidlington recently, I could not resist popping in and ordering my old favourite. Was just as good as I remember. On my next visit I will definitely be popping in again

Having read other reviews (although not that many) we decided to try it out. Unfortunately some of the dishes we ordered were quite bland/watery. Not the best Chinese I've ever eaten.Would be more picky next time I visit the area.

The crispy chilli and garlic beef strips.... amazing. As a family we have been using this chinese ever since we moved to the area(many many years ago) and no other chinese in the area lives up to it. definitely recommend, and the staff are lovely!

We have been going here all that time & have never been let down, its that good now we live in Devon when I go to oxford for football I pick a meal up & take it back with me & heat it back up when I return home & yes it's still excellent. Lovely fresh cooked food & if the football lets me down at least the food won't. Well done Eastern Kitchen here's to another 30 years

Well by the amount of people who visit here this takaway must be popular. It's always packed whenever I visit or drive past. Try as you might phone your order in your lucky to get through. There so busy. I have queued for an hour twice. So this shows how popular it is. Get in early or your in for a long wait. Yes the food is good too!
