The best restaurants in Tankerton Canterbury South East

Quite Contrary is my favourite local cafe. Scrumptious cakes and scones baked in the cafe . Today I choose the delicious Chocolate and Orange Cake . Kim and Sue are always polite and cheerful.

Brilliant fresh and tasty bread. Get there early though as they sell out quickly. They also do bacon or sausage baps now for the commute! Epic.

Great place staff are really friendly . The food is fantastic . Perhaps a tad on the expensive side . But on the whole a good experience.

Excellent food! Was skeptical at first since it was a little out of the main town and the spot seemed quiet (but then again we were visiting on a particularly gloomy day when trains weren’t working as normal) BUT it was so so so worth it. Everything was delicious. I’d 100% visit again.

Excellent Italian food in a charming restaurant with lovely ambiance. Attentive service, delicious dishes, good portions and good value. Easy parking. Perfect!

Never ever disappointed here. Dog friendly. Comfortable tables. Great home made breakfast. Excellent coffee. Friendly professional staff. Will be back.

I know it’s just a minute away from the sea front and does not have a sea view, but if you want to get a great cup of tea or coffee in a real tea cup with a saucer, (unlike M&S), and a piece of cake in perfect surroundings then this has to be the place. A clean, modern, niche cafe with inside and outside seating and right next to Tankertons lovely selection of independent shops.

This was a takeaway. We telephoned our order and was told delivery in half an hour. 1 hour and 10 minutes later they were not answering the phone, ( probably recognised our phone number ). We have had several different problems with this Chinese before, but were willing to give it one more go. We made sure the problems we had before we’re not going to be repeated by speaking to the lady on the phone. After an hour and 20 minutes, it turned up. My husband asked her if she’d been driving about as she was so late, and she said no, she had come straight from the shop. He paid her and when he bought it in, and we opened it in the kitchen most of it was warm. We had to heat everything up again in the microwave thus making it pointless having a takeaway. They will not be getting our custom again.

My girlfriend reported that her ice cream was excellent, and she knows her ice creams!

Lunch was fabulous. Sorry he's leaving for Spain.

The tomatoes were obviously stored in aluminium so were very watery, my entire breakfast was soaked and inedible, tomatoes were smashed and liquid tomato/water was pooled all over the base of the box, i’m surprised the box survived. Please find a better way to transport tomatoes or avoid heavy metal/micro plastic contaminated vegetables in our food please.

Wonderful little cafe! Delicious lemon cake, latte perfectly made by the lovely young lady. Highly recommended if visiting Tankerton.
