Fabulous dinner - excellent service, delicious food and lovely relaxed ambiance, with music playing in the background. Really enjoyed our evening.

What a great find just on the way out of main Whitstable at the tankerton roundabout. Food was cooked fresh by the owner and served up by his daughter, great combo. Took advantage of the Thursday night 5 tapas style plates and a bottle of wine £45 for two people!

Poor service, absolutely shocking. Food was very slow in coming, over an hour in getting our mains, but to be fair was delicious and fresh on arrival. It seemed that preferential customers were served first. There was the chef cooking and serving, only one waitress. The owner, he was the chef, was engaging and made us feel welcome. Having to pay cash in this modern world us not welcoming though. Not to t return this restaurant in a hurry. .

A proper Italian restaurant. A great find. Lunch today, 3 of us. Impeccable service, every detail in the dishes absolutely perfect. Lots of choice in the menu (no pizza, I'm very glad to say), so plenty to go back for. Not cheap but expertly crafted and delivered food. Decor a bit dated and cash only, which is unexpected in this day and age.

Absolutely shocking experience - very disappointing - won’t be going back. Very poor value for money. Staff were very rude Shame as went in 2022 and was good. Now very poor and the restaurant looks shabby. Also they only take cash.

Stunning restaurant. It felt like we were almost abroad. We had the risotto and it was beautiful. Friendly and lovely atmosphere.

We ended up here while visiting Whitstable for the weekend and had a lovely meal! The lamb was so good, meatballs tasty and the best cheesy garlic bread ever. The staff were all so lovely. Oh and the apple tiramisu was so good - especially as I've never had tiramisu since it always has coffee in it. Really recommend coming here for the lovely old school feel. Thank you for a great welcome in Whitstable 😍

Food was terrible and the service not the best one.

Worst m so I have ever had. We booked large group. The food was bland, wine was over priced and horrible.

Only accepts cash which is quite inconvenient in this day and age.

Unfortunately the owner fell and broke her leg before we had arrived so the restaurant had to close , the staff were very apologetic though. Will hopefully try later in the year.

What a gorgeous experience. We were greeted at the door but a happy lovely attentive young man who took us to our seats. We are a pain and wanted to change some bits on the dishes, which was no problem to them at all. The bruschetta was out of this world and my king prawn linguine was cooked perfection with loads of flavour. I loved being able to see the chef who is also the owner cook the meals and he came and personally wanted to see how our food was. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to try the tapas menu!

Staff were lovely. Starters were good but the main really let it down- was very underwhelming!

My recent visit to Mucini left me thoroughly disappointed. The service was slow, with disinterested staff and inattentiveness (didn't remember to come back with the offered salt and pepper and parmesan). The food was mediocre, lacking flavour and the carbonara was drowning in oil. Overall, I would recommend exploring other dining options in the area.

Oily food. The bolognese was reheated as pasta was all mushed in with the sauce and well over cooked.

Really underwhelming food. I thought it was a bit odd that the restaurant was so quiet for a saturday night, but now I see why. The food was lacking flavour and really disappointing, such a shame. The owner is also very rude when questioned about anything even though he asked for feedback! shocking

Did not enjoy our visit at all. No ambience, waitress seemed like she really wasn’t bothered. Ordered drinks (what seemed like watered down Coke) and mains.. 3 dishes ok , but the veal dish came with a serrated knife and boy, did I need it. Awfully tough. Amazed when we were told, after our meal, that it was cash only, which we didn’t have enough to cover the bill and so were pointed in the direction of the cash point! Unbelievable. On the whole a miserable experience

Worst "Italian restaurant" I've been to. They microwave their food, staff are rude when you tell them their food ain't great. Pasta was rock solid and they tried justifying leaving bay leaves in their meals. Risotto tased like porridge... Just dreadful, any reviews higher than one star are false paid for reviews.

Food was delicious and they are generous with portion sizes, however not many vegetarian options.

Food was very disappointing, a sloppily served risotto, just boiled rice with vegetables lacking any depth of flavour. The aubergine starter was also bland with only a hint of parmesan. Perhaps unfortunate menu choices but won't be returning.

The risotto was undercooked and the older lady who serves here is the most unfriendliest person. The atmosphere felt inadequate, and its cash only or bank transfer!!!!

I was going to come and eat in your restaurant but after seeing veal on the menu, I will avoid!

We had a lovely time at Mucini for my dads birthday. The food was lovely and the service was exceptional. Watching the chef cook with so much care and passion was fantastic!

We were here with friends from Whitstable. We sat nicely, the staff was quick and very friendly, and the food was just terrific! We also enjoyed some good Italian beer and wine, sitting together for hours and finished with very good desserts. Surely will visit again when we're on holidays in Kent.

Beautiful lunch at Mucini today, had scallops for starters which was divine with fresh bread, pasta and lamb for mains plus just about room for dessert to share. Fresh ingredients and big portions. Perfect from start to finish, will be back soon for more, thank you so much!

Truly wonderful food in a restaurant staffed by lovely people. I don’t think there’s anything else to add to that. Have been a customer for many years and will continue to be for many more, never fails to delight. Pro tip - It is cash only.

We had calamari, sea bass with zucchini, dessert and a bottle of Gavi. All excellent and better than Sardinia where we were the week before. Highly recommended.

Attended a private party on Saturday evening. Mucini put together a really impressive buffet, with the biggest cheese board I have ever seen, fabulous salads, and an array of hot food dishes from their main menu, everything I tasted was superb. The staff were very attentive, smiley and you could see they were very hands on to ensure everybody had a great time. Mucini were very helpful with regards to ensuring my daughter's tree nut allergy was catered for. Well done Mucini really looking to coming back for another meal. A gem of a restaurant.

Nice location , friendly staff, food was ok but the main course lacked seasonal vegetables as advertised. We werent in a rush but nearly 3 hours from start to finish was a little too long to wait, although I suspect that only having one person in the kitchen didn't help. Being a CASH ONLY restaurant , only serving small bottles of beers , no draught beers or lagers probably gives the impression that trips to the French hypermarkets were a regular occurence and profits being managed to the benefit of the owner. 🙄

Friendly staff, tasty food, home made desserts. Not a lot of choice for vegetarians but it is a small menu. My friend loved the aubergine parcels

This is honestly mine, my partners and daughters favourite restaurant. Been here quite a few times now, service has been consistently amazing ( different servers each time) They are always brilliant with my daughter ( still young so can be loud etc) but they are always so accomodating and they interact with her too. The food is unbelievably tasty and great value for money. The chef ( and I'm guessing owner always makes an effort to greet us and say goodbye, even when in at busier periods.

We have eaten here several times over the years and during lockdown had the best meal and service is excellent!.

Went last night for a friend's 70th birthday. Amazing food, lovely ambiance and superb staff. Service was slick and with a smile. One of the young waitresses not only played the piano beautifully she then offered to give 3 of us a lift home when we struggled to get a cab. Well beyond the call of duty ... cab company managed to get us home. But thank you Mucini's

Never disappointed when I visit this friendly restaurant next to Tankerton seafront. This time tried the shellfish linguini with hot 🔥 chilli. Superb quality 👌

It was a great experience. From walking in to a lovely welcome and a feeling of a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. The staff were really helpful and friendly. And the food was delicious. Probably the best carbonara that I have had and then having their special tiramisu and ice cream was such a delight. Both the tiramisu and ice cream were absolutely delicious.

Enjoyed a quiet midweek lunch here, friendly and helpful server ( and chef!), good choice of well prepared and tasty food. We'll be back

Unfortunately a disappointing meal. My boyfriend and I went for lunch after reading great reviews- quite a dull atmosphere, no ambience or authenticity (apart from some Italian music). His cutlery was dirty. The prawns tasted like they were in a ready made chilli sauce, my boyfriend asked for his lamb pink (having been asked how he’d like it) and it was completely overcooked- served with a baked potato (!?) and some overcooked plain broccoli. My carbonara was really oily and plain. Having said this, we would like to thank our server who was friendly and helpful.

Visited here on Thursday evening and witnessed the staff being extremely rude to a group of girls near us who had been seated under a speaker playing relatively loud music, the girls had to speak loud to hear each other over the music and then the staff came over and berated them in front of all of the other people in the restaurant about how loud they were speaking. It clearly made the girls feel very uncomfortable as they left shortly after. I felt it was totally unacceptable and would have been mortified if they had done that to me. Truly awful behaviour from the waitress towards paying customers.

This is my first visit to the restaurant. The food was very tasty and OK. Friendly staff who greeted me but were extremely busy. Cash only payments which can be an issue if you do not have cash. The restaurant needs to be careful and not push additional food items which had not been ordered. I had ordered a double gin and had been charged for 2 liquers which is more expensive. Plenty of other restaurants in the area who have very good food.

Had a really lovely meal in here last night. Huge portions, the zucchini fritters were amazing! All the staff were super friendly but special mention to the young lad who served our food - extremely polite and hard working, an absolute asset to the establishment.

Nice venue with attentive staff. The starter & main were decent enough without being spectacular. The profiteroles were disappointing - I found the choux pastry too hard. A cash only restaurant which may frustrate some. There are better restaurant options in Whitstable. An “ok” experience.

Nice food, but need to make sure they don't add any extra ingredients without consulting the consumer. If you have an allergy, make sure you consult them. As someone who is allergic to mushrooms, I ordered the Delicatezza. It was said to have something like aubergine, courgette, peppers and onions. I started eating it and then found it also contained mushrooms(not mentioned on the menu)! Thank fully, I don't think I ate any before noticing them! And they did replace the dish with a mushroom free one, which was really nice. They also offered an excellent range of gluten-free options for my mum, who sometimes struggles with eating out, as there are usually minimal options to eat. The staff we friendly. And in general, we had a good meal out.

Food and live music. We went to Mucini on our last day in Tankerton and we had some very nice food there and the lovely young girl working there started to play the grand piano beautifully very nice.

Wow! This was the very best an Italian restaurant can be. Succulent vegetables, excellent pasta, delicious tapas. And the Desserts were amazing. Can't wait to go again.

Great atmosphere and lovely food. Not taking part in the government scheme as they have their own special deal which is pretty good value. No pizza at all but pasta dishes delicious. Only one complaint - it is cash only! After a 'discussion' we were allowed to pay by card, but we thought this was highly unusual especially in the covid era. Would recommend for the food and atmosphere.

Lovely family-run Italian restaurant with a kids' menu. The pasta was really lovely: I had a seafood linguine and the wife had a clam linguine. The chocolate fondant was excellent too!

Ordered a delivery for my wife’s birthday. I have never ever seen my four children and my wife demolish a delivery so quickly. Certain winner was the Spaghetti Bolognese.

An Excellent place to eat freshly prepared Italian cuisine. Recently moved to a bigger place but still not big enough. The staff were very welcoming, service with a smile, food with flavour and a wonderful place to go. Counting the days when I return. Good job everyone

Sorry but moved to a new premises and we were looking forward to a great evening out. Food was great, staff were friendly but service was very poor. Waited for menu as a member of staff walked past three times to lay a table near us. Ordered beers and got overcharged, which was rectified with an apology. What was so disappointing was that we waited for an age to be offered desert menu which never happened and watched as staff looked at us but did not approach. The table adjoining had a desert menu for an age before their order was taken and then they couldn't have what they ordered. Sorry it sounds petty but we can go to Prezzos, the food ain't as good but the attention to you as a customer is so much better.

Chaotic as very busy but a pleasurable evening. Food excellent whatever went wrong was put right. Would go again.

The best place you can eat in the area. Very friendly staff, awesome owner, best food. I'm not in the area often, but since I've discovered the place a year ago, every time I was around I did my best to come around. Defo recommend for the ones trying to find a different culinary experience in the area!

Fantastic food, great atmosphere

I found the food excellent. The restaurant was too cramped and too narrow for the number of tables and our table was just 3feet from the toilet door and every time someone used it the door was left ajar and you could see inside the toilet which was not at all acceptable. Men and women using the same toilet not good.
