The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Tankerton Canterbury South East

Quite Contrary is my favourite local cafe. Scrumptious cakes and scones baked in the cafe . Today I choose the delicious Chocolate and Orange Cake . Kim and Sue are always polite and cheerful.

We went for high tea WOW absolutely amazing so much savouries and cakes thank you for amazing food + service SueThomas photos are for 1 person we even had some to take home yummy 😋

I know it’s just a minute away from the sea front and does not have a sea view, but if you want to get a great cup of tea or coffee in a real tea cup with a saucer, (unlike M&S), and a piece of cake in perfect surroundings then this has to be the place. A clean, modern, niche cafe with inside and outside seating and right next to Tankertons lovely selection of independent shops.

My girlfriend reported that her ice cream was excellent, and she knows her ice creams!

Wonderful little cafe! Delicious lemon cake, latte perfectly made by the lovely young lady. Highly recommended if visiting Tankerton.

Visited for a quick lunch as all was hungry.we ordered sandwiches and coffees which where average The view makes the place but I thought the prices where ridiculous £39 for 3 beware as soon as you sit down there is a 12%service charge added to what ever you order We won’t be visiting again we could of had a meal for that sort of money

This is located in the mall building with both outside and mall access. I didn't try food but coffee and customer service was good.

Visited Hotel Continental for a Sunday lunch. Very tasty roast beef and pork Sunday lunches. Dishes were well presented. Mains at £24 ( Jan 2025) for roasts were more expensive than a pub Sunday lunch. However we always enjoy the interesting and welcoming spacious restaurant and bar with sea views. The waitresses are both attentive and a credit to the restaurant. A pianist was providing pleasant entertainment in the bar area. The venue appears to be spotlessly decorated. Despite the stormy weather the restaurant was well heated.

My advice to anyone thinking of going to this tearoom is Do Not! I have been going to this restaurant regularly for a long time. The staff were always polite and a credit to their employer. I visited about 3 weeks ago but will definitely not be going back again. The lady who served me was extremely rude. The tables in the Orangery (where everyone likes to sit) were laid out for afternoon tea. This was 10.30 in the morning! The previous staff would put a time on the tables from when these were reserved, meaning that if you left prior to this you were able to sit there. When we arrived there were only 3 tables that you could sit at and needless to say no-one arrived to sit at the reserved ones. I am also aware that it was the same for the afternoon. e.g Tables were still laid out but not occupied! It is such a shame when something goes down hill to this degree as this is a beautiful setting.

The service is sweet but but the ice cream scoops are really mean. There is a choice of ice cream shops in the area so management needs to decide if they want repeat business or not.
