Tower Hill Tea Gardens in Canterbury

I think this is the dirtiest restaurant that I have stepped into. The dining area carpets are soiled and very gross, I sat here for 3 hours and there has been 0 effort to clean the area, the utensils that were given to me did not look well washed, honestly looking back in the kitchen area compels you from eating here.

Idk it was dirty and low key the food tasted off which is hard to do considering everything is frozen and reheated

Was greeted by a arrogant inpatient blonde with fake eyelashes. She spoke very soft and I asked her to repeat a couple times what she said. She would almost let out a sigh of disgust, and then repeat what she said to me. Ordered two Cobb salads and asked for no bacon on one, broccoli cheddar soup and Diet Pepsi. $34 dollars proceeded with eating salad which had a lot of brown and fruit flies. The gentleman who served us was nice. Spoke to manager she said she would pull up order but was unnecessary but right as that was said the young blond piped in and says you didn’t order the Cobb you ordered the ranch! One thing about me…..the only ranch I eat is on carrots and Doritos. Terrible establishment. Do better!

Food was good. Cook was a little heavy-handed on the ranch dressing on the southwest chicken ranch salad.

The worst customer service you can find, bad smell whenever you stop by , the staff are mean you have to wait forever they don’t let you know how long for your order I had bad experience I would never back again

One of my favorite places to hang out and chill in Wakefield.... unlimited coffee is very good. The bagels cream cheese yum, and opened late at can read, research and study. A very calm, clean and quiet atmosphere. The employees are top bar, Thank You AAA+++ :)

The food here is great and if you join the Sip Club, there is amazing deals to get the food at a great discount and free drinks. I love going here for breakfast, I always get the breakfast sandwiches and baguette as a side. The only downside is that it is cold in some areas of the restaurant, otherwise, Great restaurant

Love Panera, best place for healthy fast food option, as long as you don't eat the pastries and cookies, of course. The new menu is great and the breakfast sandwiches are now much better than Starbucks.

Ordered dinner. 2 sandwiches were missing. One of the sandwiches I did receive was not wrapped and as a result spilled out. Employee at counter failed to tell me a sandwich was sold out and only after I came back in was I told. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve been served something this lackluster and wrong from this establishment

Worst Paneras in Rhode Island. Grilled cheese sandwich is all bread with 1 slice if cheese. Slow service. Not clean.

Food was awful. Order was entirely wrong. From the drink not being remotely close to what I had ordered, wrong muffin to a very lackluster sandwich. Employees have a tendency to not have a clean dining room, are often on their phones ignoring customers and I can sometimes see an insane overflow of garbage. Disgusting

Finally I ended up having the breakfast here . which was actually good I had bagel sausage egg and cheese and a seasonal fruit cup with a hot cup of coffee. This is where the fun part starts ....! As I was ordering I wanted a onion bagel oh your lovely Stephen had the worst customer service , he told me the only onion on a bagel is the everything in a very sarcastic attitude. I told him I'll take the seasonal fruit cup , he told me it's just called a fruit cup theres nothing seasonal about it . He cashed me out and forgot my coffee so I had to pay twice. He didnt tell me how many point or if i had anything free on my card. So as I was waiting for my food which didnt take long , it was a bit chilly in there place was clean nothing out the ordinary. They called my name and I got my food , I sat down and what happens . That super cocky register kid Stephen was talking bout me to his co-workers saying oh this OLD lady came in looking for a onion bagel I had to tell her more then once we dont have onion bagels like she deaf. First off I'm not Old second off I'm sitting in a booth while your running your mouth bout me . It took me everything in my power not to say something. awful him and his co workers swearing and laughing making fun of customers like me . I dont come here very often it's a treat to take myself out for breakfast to have ME time. If you dont like your job find something else and he wouldnt have that job if working people like me dont spend there money at Panera's. I liked the older women who used to do the register sweet, kind , and patient. I gave this place a 3 stars because the food is great and it's nice relax when you dont hear every ar word in the book at 8am from a group of childish workers. seriously need New Staff or get the older crew back.

Cashier mouthed off at me when they did not have something on the menu, and I grumbled about it. I said "be careful." The crew got a good laugh about it, at my expense. Next call will be to corporate if the response here is inadequate.

The location is dirty. Floors are dirty and smell. All the tables were not clean. Tons of dirty dishes. Trash under every table.

Panera Bread has always been a favorite of mine. During our most recent visit, you could notice no one checked to see how everything was, no tables were clean, as with the shortage of help most everywhere, I hope this is the reason that no one was concerned about a customer being pleased with their food. It's a much different Panera than I used to love!

I'm grateful this Panera has lasted in this location, especially post pandemic. Like most food service providers it's biggest issue is staffing, but I always receive great service especially in the morning. The store manager, Denise, is amazing with customers and she's always out there in the thick of it with her crew leading by example. I work with special needs adults and I love bringing them here because of the warm friendly atmosphere.

The restaurant was dirty; tables covered in crumbs and the rest room was filthy. The staff were kind, but the service was extremely slow; many people were waiting for their meals to be prepared. The restaurant was completely out of decaf coffee and didn't realize it.

The only Panera Bread that doesn't have bread. I truly don't understand how you have bread for sandwiches but not for sides? Don't waste your time, the staff does know either....

Visited last Thursday and Diet Pepsi was out, so I reported that to the counter staff, but did not have time to wait for possible replacement. Three days later when visiting again for lunch, the Diet Pepsi was still out, as now noted by a sticker on the machine. After requesting to switch my soda order for a coffee, staff let me know that they do not expect to have the product restocked until Wednesday. Restocking does not take as long in other areas of the country. Food ordered by my group were good, but added items were mismatched from our orders.

Love this place but I’ve noticed a lot of the customers bully the staff which is unacceptable. Next time I witness this I’m exposing them on social media.

Beverage area was dirty, no large cups, my warm bowl was missing ingredients and was cold. I Love Panera but this place was a total disappointment.

The food is good, but I’ve seen better. I’ve never had a problem with Panera and I’ve been in probably every location in Rhode Island and this particular location 3 times messed up my breakfast sandwich. I asked for the over easy egg not the scrambled. The second time I came in I said to the cashier to make sure it is over easy and then it was scrambled, AGAIN

We come here because my kids like the food. The last 5-8 times we’ve been here, they never have bread as a side. They have bread to make sandwiches but no baguettes. I’d understand if it only happens once in a while but it’s so frequent, it’s ridiculous. Pretty sure I’ve never gone to Taco Bell and they’ve been out of tacos.

Food is fine. Would be great if they wiped down the tables. This is not the only dirty table.

Both times I’ve paid for a whole salad and end up with a half salad. It’s a $14 salad. I almost feel like they stole from me in a way

I never leave Panera bread satisfied. The food is great but I'm always hungry afterward.

Be sure to check your bag with to go orders unless you want to wind up driving all the way back. I assumed once the to go order was placed and the ticket was punched- the order would be completed. Nonetheless, we got home and realized we were missing a whole meal. And when relaying it to another customer while he was in line, he said he would have walked out without items too, had he not been warned.

When asking about my order the Manger said either wait or come back.

The elder manager is a sweetheart but she needs to understand that APP drivers are NOT allowed to fill drinks. YOU NEED TO SEAL THE DRINKS WITH A STICKER OVER THE LIP SO THE CUSTOMER HAS TRUST TO ACTUALLY DRINK IT...DELIVERED FROM A STANGER. STOP GETTING ORDERS CANCELLED.

I deliver for Grubhub and Uber. THIS is the ONLY Panera bread around that consistently screws up food app orders. DONT SHOOT THE DELIVERY GUY, BLAME THE FOLKS THAT WORK AT THIS PLACE.

I went there for their macaroni and cheese it was super good.

I come to this panera daily and get my favorite drink. Every day I was greeted with a smile from this wonderful young lady named Ashley D. For the past week or so I have not had the happiness and joy I normally get when I walk in because she has not been there. I am very saddend that she is not there hence the 3 stars. She always greeted me with a large smile and made sure my order was PERFECT. one time the lemonade holders were leaking EVERYWHERE and she JUMPED to resolve the issue. Another time there were no more straws or lids and before I could finish my sentence she already was reaching for more. This world needs more amazing workers like her!

Good but very expensive. Over $30 for my young daughter and I. That was two sandwiches two drinks

I wish notification of my order being ready was triggered by bringing it out, not to the kitchen being finished. There can be a 10 to 15 minute difference in times.

Their bacon and egg breakfast sandwich on Asiago bagel was so good, my husband tried to take the rest of mine after finishing his.

After visiting a local town we drove along to Whitstable . As friends I happened to be with had been to Tower Hill and wanted to show me the gardens and castle. I slowly walked around the gardens and enjoyed how pretty it looked , although could have done with a little of a tidy up . But still beautiful never the less. The outside of the castle looked stunning and well cared for . Hopefully on my next visit I will get to enter the castle. But if you are looking for a bite to eat or a drink , go and visit the orangery. I’m sure there will be something to take your fancy .

Like any Paneras. This one is ok and inside a strip mall and a grocery store. It was clean and the workers were all nice. The inside is pretty big with lots of room. It even has a large dining room table. I also liked how the beverage area had a large selection of drinks on the fountain.

Picked up bagels & croissants for breakfast...they no longer carry " cobblestones", my favorite pastry😭😭😭 Great staff, good service.

We love getting a bowl of chile at Paneras and having a car picnic along the Narragansett wall. Then we enjoy a walk along the wall and on Narragansett Beach. A great day at the beach/wall wouldn't be the same without a stop at Panera Bread first. Their salads, sandwiches, bagels, coffee/lattes and pastries wonderful too.

I used to love Panera, but their soups used to be a lot better. Obviously prices have gone up over the years and I only order when I'm desperate, because I feel like the quality has gone downhill as prices rise. You pay more for less. Although, their frontega chicken sandwich is my favorite. Since they started making it, I only order that when I'm in the mood for a sandwich! It has a little heat and the basil is a nice touch.

The cafe looked so clean! In these times, thats the first thing you loom for. Sad, but true. Staff was friendly and accomodating. I had the turkey avocado sandwich, my guest had the soup half sandwich combo. Very timely, which was important since we had an appointment. Love this cafe!

Very poor experience. The steak and cheese sandwich has 1 small slice of roast beef that does not cover the size of bread. The mac and cheese was still frozen. The strawberry smoothly was strawberry water.

The food is good, but this store has been so disappointing. They never answer the phone, it just rings and rings. Customer service is inaccessible / nonexistent. Placed a large mobile order, which automatically timed our order for an hour later, and the order hadn’t even been started when we arrived at the scheduled time to pick it up. Recently, my curbside order took 30 minutes to be brought out. I tried calling the store, it just rang and rang once again. Had a sleeping infant in my car, so walking in to the store was not an option for me at that time. I understand the entire world is short staffed right now, but jeeze…. Time to go support some local sandwich shops.

Just a long long wait nobody asks if you’re waiting for an order, just standing around for 20 minutes been here a few times last time there was like an hour wait and customers were getting refunds and walking out kind of crazy

Never had any issues here. But as of recent, my online orders are never ready at their promised time.

I was so excited to go get the most amazing strawberry poppy salad. I tried it last year and they brought it back again this year. Garden salad with strawberries, blueberries, mandarin orange slices, pineapple, Pecans, romain lettuce, comes with a poppy seed dressing which I substitute with fuji apple vinaigrette. Its fabulous! They now have great pizza too. My friend and I tried today. It was good. This sald is so satisfying and tasty. I recommend that everyone try it. You won't be disappointed.

5/28/2021 Walked in the Panera bread Wakefield location today, there was no line just us ordering. Ordered mac&cheese and chicken noodle soup that’s it. Ordered at 5:18pm and received the order at 5:44pm. No other people were waiting for food, it was just us. Waited 26 minutes for chicken noodle soup and mac&cheese Loved the service before they started doing online ordering. The Panera employees+manager prioritize the online ordering and ignore the customers who go inside the store to order…. I would recommend ordering online before you drive there and wait 30 minutes for your food.

My daughter ordered a toasted steak and white cheddar sandwich and a strawberry smoothie and she asked for no onions and they still put the onion on the sandwich and she is allergic to onions also the smoothie was water down. I spent 16.93 on the whole meal and it was a waste of money I also had to throw away the sandwich because of the onion I am highly disappointed. March 19,2021

Helpful staff, I got gift cards for friends. Nice to give something they can use to treat themselves and get out for a while. We use curbside pick up and head to the ocean to watch the waves. This Panera has great, fresh ingredients and we appreciate that. Good value for money.

Just order Panera today (first time)... The order was correct an well presented. The taste of the food was a let down breaking down the items: French Onion Soup: low flavor or broth an seasoning, no cheese on top. Chicken Alfredo: presentation was different, just the flavor was good with first bit then after 5 bits your taste buds ask " why are we getting this trash" Roast Turkey & Avocado: Regular white sandwich bread, no flavor at all. Overall the drinks: ice mocha was the only thing good from the order. Chief go back to drawing board on food preparation an taste.

Everything you'd expect from a chain food joint. Food is okay. Service is actually above average. Menu is diverse, something for everyone.

Gotta get me more of that Steak and Arugula sandwich. Delicious. Seriously though Panera is the place to go if you enjoy fresh food and a casual atmosphere. Stop by for a bite or take your laptop and post up while you enjoy some delicious food and a hearty supply of lemonade.

I saddens me to write this negative but true review as I actually love this little Tea Gardens. Just as a bit of background, I have been a fairly regular visitor from Essex over the last couple of decades either with family or whilst out for a jaunt on my Motorcycle or Scooter. I was so pleased when this beautiful little place rose like a Phoenix from the ashes following the recent fire. What I have been really disappointed by on recent visits both on my own and with a family group is that a place that used to serve a good selection of food items including sandwiches now offers none of these. Whilst I accept that the lovely staff direct you to the Castle Tea Rooms that does offer these options, that's okay providing you can get a table and you don't mind sitting in the more formal setting clad in full motorcycle clothing. Just to back up my point, on our last two visits my wife and I have loitered at the Castle tea rooms on a lovely day waiting for a table only to give up after some time. On both occasions we have walked over to Tower Hill Tea Gardens hoping to get some lunch to be disappointed. Surely from a business perspective it would make sense to accommodate customers that are unable to get in at the castle at your venue a stones throw away across the road, or am I missing something. This aside, some people will just prefer the more rustic appeal of The Tower Hill Tea Gardens, fact! Talking of facts, the truth is that if you cant get in at the Castle and Tower Hill doesn't offer at least some light lunch options, people will take their business elsewhere. Come on proprietors, 'Wake up and smell the coffee' re introduce a greater menu.

This Panera is nice- I like the atmosphere and size. Staff is very friendly. However, they usually forget things in my order that I paid for and I usually have to check my bag to see if all my items have been included. Overall though, I love Panera so what can I say.

I ordered the tomato soup and half tuna sandwich. The tuna sandwich comes with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. The combo has a choice of apple or chips. I told them I wanted only tomato on my sandwich. No onion, no lettuce. I wanted chips instead of the apple. When my order came I had an apple and the sandwich had lettuce and red onion with no tomato! Also, the soup was lukewarm. They were not busy. This was at the end of the day. I am usually pleased with my Panera but, this visit was rather disappointing. Maybe they were tired!

Easy to find, parking, good food.

I love their veggie sandwiches, potato chips, chocolate chip cookies, and Greek salads. However, their prices are just a bit high for the amount I get.

Decent selection and helpful staff

Clean and predictable, Panera offers food that's healthy, well prepared, and consistent from one "store" to the next. For regular users, it's a bit like a familiar club.

At first blush I was a little worried as the line for ordering was rather long, but the staff is very efficient at this location and a long line was quickly handled. The food was also prepared quickly, we had barely sat down and it was ready. The orders were all correct, and consistent with my previous experience with Panera. It's good food fast. The restaurant was clean, given the crowd here that in itself is impressive. The bathrooms as well were tidy and not something out of a horror movie as they sometimes can be.

Always good for lunch. Located at the Wakefield mall.

What a gem! A little hut selling a small variety of reasonably priced refreshments, in a delightful setting. As you enjoy your cup of tea & cake, you have a beautiful view of the estuary. There were only a few tables, so I hope I manage to find a free one when I go next time.

FOOD IS GREAT but tables are not consistently kept clean. Accommodating staff but Pepsi drink brands are the only option sadly.

Great staff. People are always friends. I would have given a 5 star if they did not microwave all their pasta dishes. Given all the info about how microwaves actually change the character of the food and negatively impact it I am surprised they don't just make the pasta items on a stove. I will be staying away from the pasta their on the future.

Everytime i go here to get my daily salad they always mess it up and all they do is im sorry its not that difficult to make a salad.was very angry today lost time from my job while i had to wait for them to remake the salad.i spend alot of money every week here for a salad all i want is for it to be made right.
