The best restaurants in South East

Called in for lunch today & had to wait a while to be shown to a table. The person serving was clearly rushed off his feet but took our order within a few minutes. The coffee was lovely & generously sized. The crepes were amazing, very well filled and served with salad & coleslaw. Both savoury choices (brie & bacon and Parma ham, olives, sun-dried tomato & pesto) were really tasty and very filling. Great experience overall despite them being short staffed. I feel that the interior could do with a freshen up as it's looking a little tired & dated, but food was absolutely perfect! Would try again to sample a sweet crepe as the choices were ample & they also had a specials board which was equally tempting!

Down in the area for a few days, found this restaurant by accident. Staff excellent, the wine good, the food is probably the best Thai food we have had. Had a fantastic evening, thoroughly recommend

One of the best pints of Neck Oil I've ever had. Great to have a refreshing pint after a hot day on the Ridgeway.

Absolutley beautiful venue for a wedding! We were the wedding DJs at Horsted Place Hotel at the weekend for Mike and Alison and provided music outside for the ceremony, background music at the meal and the evening disco. We loved this place and all the staff were great! 100% recommend for anyone looking for a venue for their wedding!

We ordered the tea set and it came with sandwiches a cake and scones. All were delicious. Recommend

Amazing coffee shop😍, staff are so lovely, with a very calming atmosphere, the best place for a coffee date / working / anything really! Prices are extremely reasonable and they offer a very wide variety of food&drinks so I can try different things everytime🤭. It’s really a lovely place to be, I recommend 100%!!😁

A bit quiet and the restaurant does feel a bit tired/lacking in atmosphere - no special touches. My friends are omnivores and their food looked ok but vegan choices almost non existent and staff didn’t seem keen to adapt anything, which does feel a bit behind the times.

Well, I won't recommend the beer, although I do, as it is incredably unlikely to be the same as when I was here. Excellent little ale house. With an ever changing set of real ale FROM THE CASK. If you drink a proper english beer, this is a must if you are anywhere near Newport. You can also get some fizzy pop if your friends have not yet seen the light. To be fair, some interesting fizzy pop. 😀

A great local pub, food is excellent as is a he beer.
