Mad In Italy in Gravesham

Excellent food, only let down was other customers or would have been a 5. We arrived for our wedding anniversary and although the restaurant was mainly empty, we were sat next to a very loud table of 8 and another couple. The noise from one particular person was so constant and obnoxious with language, we ate as quickly as possible just so we could leave because we couldn’t actually hear each other or the staff when taking our order. Sadly the other couple who were by us also felt the same. Shame really as we came for the dessert but the language and shrieking from the one customer ruined the evening for us. As we were leaving, the group was then placed in the centre of the restaurant probably to ruin everyone else’s meal too. The food though was outstanding and I can highly recommend it and the staff too who tried to put up with what was happening. The table by us had the desserts we wanted and it looked perfect but the noise was too much.

Wow wow wow! This is the best Italian I’ve EVER been too and I’ve eaten in Italy. The saffron & prawn risotto was out of this world! It was amazing. My friend loved the prawn linguine & raved about it. Anyone living or visiting Kent should definitely give this place a visit. The waitresses were friendly and welcoming as was the manager. They made us feel comfortable and welcome.

Had a delicious meal yesterday evening with Cocktails whilst sitting outside watching the world go by. Our friendly waiter Jo was very attentive and catered to our needs & was interesting to talk too . We both had fish for starter and the mixed seafood grill for main which is the best meal we have had here so far. Price wise our meal worked out £54 per head which for 2 courses , 2 cocktails & 2 alcoholic drinks we feel is about the norm . We would recommend Mad in Italy to anyone . Give it a try for yourselves .

We recently came as a party of 11 for my Mum and Sisters birthdays. Everything was amazing from the food to the service. Our waiter Joe was brilliant. He ensured we had everything we needed all evening, made sure everything was okay. When it was time for pudding, they brought out both birthday cakes with candles in and all of the waiters/waitresses came to join in with the singing! The food was top quality and had such a choice to choose from, will definitely have to come back to try the different things on the menu! The only thing I would say is that they do need a children’s menu as the adult versions are just too big for the smaller children we had in our party. But that definitely didn’t stop them from trying! Will definitely recommend and be returning! Thank you!

First time visiting Mad in Italy and the whole experience was extremely enjoyable from the food to our excellent waiter, Joe who was very professional and polite with a hint of cheeky banter which made our evening. We visited as a family of 11 including 3 children (aged 5, 8 and 11) and if I had to criticise, they don’t cater for children and the adult portions were too big and too rich for our chicken and nugget loving trio! That said, they certainly didn’t go hungry with chips and garlic bread. Wide variety of well cooked and presented tasty food at a reasonable price. We were there celebrating mine and my daughter’s birthday and our cakes were brought out with candles, Happy Birthday music played and staff members came over to join in the singing and clapping. Great time was had by all and would certainly recommend and return.

Brilliant meal at made in italy tonight for my birthday our waiter Joe was lovely very cheery and helpful and good with the children in the childrens words "It was spot on"! Food was lovely chef even made us polla crema which wasn't on the menu! we will be back 😀

We went for a family meal on Christmas Eve and I can only say that the experience we had was absolutely fantastic. The meals that we had were amazing and absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional and I will definitely be returning there in the future. I also will be recommending this restaurant to friends that I know.

I wanted to love this place but, sadly, I was left feeling disappointed. We were a group of 6 squeezed onto a table for 4. Looking around the restaurant, I could see that this was true of a number of tables. I understand the need to get as many covers as possible in order to break even. However, this should only be attempted if you team can cope with the volume of food that needs to be cooked. Sadly, on the night we visited, this wasn't the case. We waited an hour and 45 minutes to get our main courses and when they arrived, 4 of the 6 dishes were cold. Worse still, when I enquired after an hour and 15 minutes whether they knew when our meals would arrive, the staff member I spoke to simple said, "We're busy" and didn't even attempt to answer the question or to find out the answer. I'm fully accepting of the fact that sometimes kitchens become overwhelmed, particularly at this time of the year, but there is never an excuse for poor customer service. With so many other options of places to eat in Gravesend, I'm not inclined to visit here in a hurry.

We booked our Christmas party for 16 people and we were all completely satisfied. Very cozy restaurant with Christmas decorations reminiscent of a children's park. Attentive and helpful waiters. Nice atmosphere, but the real added value is the cuisine. Beautiful dishes full of flavour. Tuna cooked to perfection... not to mention the turkey or ravioli.
