BLACK MOCHA, 103 Gloucester Rd, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN1 4AP, United Kingdom, England
Really nice spot - great coffee and hot chocolate and great lunch menu too. They have several vegan and gluten free options also. Staff are super friendly and helpful :)
Fantastic pub, excellent on all fronts from high quality food, friendly service to really nice ambiance of a genuine old english pub feel. I particularly enjoyed the home made sauerkraut, potatoes which were sweet and buttery without any need for salt or anything else, just quality ingredients throughout. My kids also finished all their plates - thank you again
Was visiting the area and really enjoyed this chippy. Large fish was good size, not excessive but s large size. Chips were good and crispy. One large chips was enough to feed two adults and two young children. Good value too.
For context, I have been brought up with curry houses in the west midlands
A frequent visitor to the balti triangle.
I have been looking for a good curry in the banbury /west oxfordshire area for a year now. Nothing really tickled my fancy been looking for a good curry house to represent whstbi have experienced form a young age, as well showcase good Asian food to my girlfriend who hasn't really experienced it apart from bad takeaways or really bad supermarket versions.
Jool did that everything seasoned to perfection. Nothing too small to ask for service amazing I felt guilty I didn't have spare change for a tip
Will be going again to try more dishes
We chose from the banquet menu.plenty of food. Sadly we had been to the cinema and couldn't do justice to the meal they gladly packed up for absecond attempt at a glorious meal at the weekend.
If you want to taste of what a balti should be go here
Brunch visit just after midday., short wait outside - but well advised about time and offered free Tea for warmth (along with heat lamp burning away)
I had the Grill up
Almost my best ever breakfast
But the sausages were a bit grainy
Everything else amazing
Would go again
9.5 out of 10
My gorgeous boyfriend took me there for the second time, because we love it so much. The foods were excellent and the atmosphere was so alluring. Very welcoming staff, especially Aliister was so very attentive and friendly. Would love to go there again. To sample more yummy dishes.
Was recommended to here by the receptionist at the hotel.
We both had the OAP special fish and chips. Served by a lovely, polite and efficient chap and the food was brilliant...probably the best fish and chips I've ever had and would definitely come here again if I'm in the area. Well worth chosing for your meal.
Gello and his amazing team hosted us for a private party. It was amazing, the food was exceptional, service outstanding and arranging in was a delight.
I couldn't recommend this place more
Excellent value too.
19/05/2025 UPDATE: Not so keen on this pub now. Prices for food are incredibly high for the portions. Plus a rocky hard potato rosti which we raised with the manager's wife was apologised for but not replaced or refunded.
It also feels quite 'clicky' so we've not felt as welcome recently, perhaps as we don't go often enough? The entertainment has slipped a bit, too.
There are lots of other more friendly and cheaper pubs which we feel comfortable in.
May 2024: Great little pub with upstairs seating / dining.
Querky decor, good selection of beers, ales and wines. Fantastically friendly, funny and knowledgeable staff. Delicious food with great vegan options!
Plus a wonderful choice of entertainment and quizzes on Wednesday evenings. What's not to love?!
