The best restaurants in West Kirby and Thurstaston Wirral North West

wonderful to actually receive a warm welcome and excellent service. We had soup and chips. Actually proper home made chips and was soup delicious . We were so full decided to have half a scone each. So enjoyable. Everything was spot on. The only downside they are closing 30.03.25. So sad - just a little gem. Nothing was too much trouble- service with a smile along with excellent food. Many could learn lessons from this restaurant. Brilliant. May you have every success with everything you undertake

What an amazing place. Excellent food and amazing service. The ice cream is amazing too. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be going back again.

We had the most amazing experience at this restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff were fantastic and friendly. Service was excellent, can’t praise this restaurant enough. Thank you all for a brilliant night.

Food was great but we felt sorry for the friendly young waitress that didn’t really know the menu or wines. Seems like she doesn’t get support from the manager who tried to clear our plates even though we were still eating. The place was empty but they turned away a couple saying they were full. Excellent food let down by atmosphere and staff training.

Visited the fabulous hectors today, this is our go to place for lunch. I had a coronation chicken salad roll, which I hadn't yet tried, and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you to all the staff once again for delivering the best portions and the best service!! 👌

Love it here but unfortunately the food was a disappointment tonight

We thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially the balti sauce. We appreciated that they helped us figure out the right amt of food to order without pushing additional dishes.

The place we planned to go was closed so we walked round the corner and found this hidden gem Great atmosphere service and amazing food

Benty Farm is a firm favourite for our family. It's lovely to see how it has grown and evolved over the years. From afternoon tea to half term events/ activities something for everyone. Love sitting outside in the warm weather and love the marquee with it's seasonal decor, very cozy. Family who run the business are lovely and work very hard. A great variety of cakes - all homemade and the coffee is 10/10. Friendly staff and great food is always guaranteed here.

*in response to Hickory's reply: you've completely ignored the essence of this review which is you put undue stress on your customers and they're shamed and embarrassed into having to ask for the automatic tip to be removed. If you can auto add it, you can auto remove it and the spirit of what I'm saying is you know people will likely not ask for it to be removed out of embarrassment* I am so disappointed that 7.5% service charge was automatically added to our bill.....please, we can't have this happen to the UK. Americas tipping culture needs to stay across the atlantic, next to health care for profit. I'm not angry, I'm just really sad. The position you people in just isn't right. I get it's a business, and even I want you to earn lots of money and be really rich because you make a great product. There are people in society that have to count every penny and who are maybe borderline homeless. Say their child does really well at school and they want to make their child feel special and rewarded and so they put on their best clothes and head to Hickory's. You're already not cheap (we paid £65 for 2 mains and 2 drinks with a side of onion rings) and for this family, the bill's already going to be a stretch for them. And then you add 7.5% which they're not expecting and definitely don't have the money for.....the feeling of dread, shame and embarrassment they feel right in this moment is something that I think business owners have so much power where they could do good.... All you need to do is not add it automatically, let it be a option. I'm sorry for the long message, I just don't want the world to follow Americas broken way! The food and service was excellent as usual and we will be coming again soon. We always tip a minimum of 10% anyway...as a business owner my self, I just can't shake the fact that I know that you know that auto adding it means people are embarrassed into paying it anyway and it's not our culture here and shouldn't be. If you think it's so easy to just ask for it to be taken off with your "no questions asked" then prove that you believe that it's no big deal and not auto add it, have every waiter ask if they can add it at the end of each meal, yes?

Been here a few times,for different meals, yesterday was for chips only,not very good quality,

Lovely cafe in a nice spot with a view and food was lovely BUT no a very warm welcome we reserved a table arrived on time no one welcomed us we had to find our own table with booking reservation name on, a member of staff shouted over the counter that table is reserved so we told her it was ours. Then after waiting several minutes we had to get our own menus staff were unhelpful as we’d never been before so wasn’t sure if it was table service or not. Overall service poor didn’t feel friendly. The noise from the coffee machine was irritating and a lot of banging going on found it hard to hear ourselves speak at times which was annoying. Don’t think I’d go back, oh and the toilet was dirty bin was full and open showing either a dirty nappy or sanitary towel that was unpleasant.

Took my daughter and her friends to celebrate her 13th Birthday , so 2 tables , one for the girls , one for my wife and step mum. The staff were amazing , welcoming and friendly as always, the food was delicious , they allowed us to serve my wife's home made cake , sing happy birthday etc . Couldn't nor have asked for a better time , so a huge thank you to Est for a brilliant day

staff very friendly, attentative kind and thoughtful, came in at 7.45 told no.steaks but they rustled me up a burger and fries 2 burger pats expensive but filled a whole, watched football went home, not as good as before, prices need to come down for that fare
