The Tapas Kitchen in Wirral

Table booked 7 pm on a Thursday night. The restaurant was busy but the staff was very attentive and we were shown to our window table. The dishes that came out of the kitchen were nothing less than superb. Beautifully presented, incredible flavours. Each one with its own unique flavour. Didn't want the evening to end. Will definitely be returning and have already recommended to several friends.

This place is special. Whether a romantic tapas meal with my wife, a family roast, or a special family occasion, the food, atmosphere, welcome and service are second to none. Especially the food, which is out of this world. The best tapas place, maybe even restaurant, on the Wirral. Go there, relax and enjoy a fantastic meal and experience.

We had some lovely food here. And the service was amazing. Would definitely recommend this place.

Always a pleasure to go here!! Colin & his staff are amazing & always provide a 1st class service. We went for a Valentines dinner last night & it was such a romantic experience - the menu was so well thought out & at a very reasonable price per person too. Each dish was presented beautifully & in a very timely manner, so you weren't rushed & could savour every mouthful. The food is ALWAYS totally amazing - the chef is so clever with his flavours & makes every dish very memorable!! The wine choice is extremely well thought out & compliments the food beautifully!! An intimate gem, which SHOULD be experience & one of the BEST tapas restaurants I've EVER visited. Thankyou Colin & your team, we can't wait to visit again!!! Highly recommended

Very lovely place Tasty food Good portions and price

Visited 19th Jan 24. Food was great. Service was terrible at best. Left waiting for drinks, orders to be taken and to pay the bill. Decided the level of service didn't warrant an extra payment or tip. Upon leaving could hear the barman and waiter discuss the fact that no tip had been left. When they thought they hadn't spoke loud enough for us to hear, repeated the same but louder. Shame as this behaviour and entitled attitude puts me off visiting again. This review is motivated soley by the rudeness of the staff upon not receiving a tip for their awful service.

The food was lovely, the atmosphere was nice. For me, the only thing lacking was not being asked if everything was ok and there was no goodbye or thank you for eating with us.

Food was really, really good, enjoyed every mouthful. The round tables at the window are very big when there is just two of you, could have done with being closer together at the smaller tables as a couple. Other than that very minor moan, it was fab.

It's the first time we've been to The Tapas Kitchen and we will certainly be back!!

I absolutely love this place. We have been several times over the past three years and never been disappointed. It has a lovely atmosphere, (the candles on the bar are a lovely touch.) but the food…Every dish we have tried has been absolutely delicious. The attention to detail with marinating, use of fresh ingredients, herbs and spices is second to none. The owner is always friendly, obliging and goes above and beyond with his level of service. We never book another restaurant in West Kirby as i doubt anywhere else would live up to this.

I'm a little bit biased, as the owner and myself are lifeboat crew. However put this aside, from everything from the the bread and olives, to the fabulous mix of dishes. The only problem is where to stop! Trust me if it wasn't an amazing experience, and not just from me, but everyone I speak to, I wouldn't comment.

We always love dining here, continuously great food and service. Not too pricey either. We had 6 dishes (not the cheaper options)and one bread starter between both of us and a bottle of red about £70 😁👍

A lovely, and enjoyable tapas dinner at TTK in West Kirby. We were welcomed into the restaurant by friendly staff who greeted us with a smile. The drinks and the food were served quickly, and were delicious.

We went to The Tapas kitchen last night. The food was delicious. We shared the bread and olives so 2 between 6 of us. We had 7 tapas dishes between the 2 of us and they were all delicious and cooked perfectly. We had the lamb, cod, calamari, pork tortillas, chicken with rice and lamb, everything was really very tasty. The potatos were so delicious as was the dip it came with Colin was really attentive,and Ritchies margaritas were 👌 We all had a really lovely time and highly recommend

Lovely little Tapas place, enjoyed the food… 6 to 7 dishes per couple including any sides like breads / cheese etc Our favourite dish was the pork tacos - highly recommend it!

My nephew, his wife and I promised to write a review. Will recommend it to anyone who love Spanish tapas. Lovely restaurant (linen napkins - cut glasses). Waiter & waitresses very helpful. Just go and enjoy yourself -yourselves!! You will not be disappointed - BUT BOOK WELL IN ADVANCE ESSENTIAL.

Best tapas I've ever had! We love tapas in our family but with my wife recently going pescatarian I was wondering if she would find something she liked. We ended up ordering 4 dishes each and loved every one of them! Seriously can't wait to go back and it's definitely our favourite restaurant we've eaten in since moving to the area recently.

Just had the most beautiful meal in a long time. Gorgeous food, lovely atmosphere and very polite and friendly staff. I would highly recommend a visit 💯 ☺

Absoluteley love this place.. i couldnt recommend it highly enough..

Booked a table for 8pm, patiently waited for almost 45 mins , had to ask could we order as nobody came over , we were not asked how our meals were at any time ! (when we did eat the food was lovely, although pretty hungry by then! ), we weren’t asked would we like to see the desert menu, had to ask for the bill also (we complained and an apology was given and received complimentary drinks) we were told they had some demanding customers!! Our dirty dishes remained on the table after leaving .Won’t be returning again due to uacceptable /zero customer service!!! (never normally complain, but in this case felt it necessary)

So disappointed with this visit. We’ve been many times but this was not up to expectations. All of the tapas came together just 5-10 mins after ordering. All 10 dishes together. This is not the way you expect the tapas to be served. Service was sluggish. One waitress looked like she couldn’t be bothered. There was no effort to make the evening enjoyable. Food was just okay but it seemed like the food was just waiting to be reheated and served. Sadly we won’t go back.

It was really good. Small dishes that remember me from my origin country. Went without booking and got Lucky, recommend to book in advance. Nice staff, good food, clean and tidy place. Got a bit in love. Will be back for sure

The food is fantastic, we went on social Sunday where it is also excellent value for money as well and very popular, so I recommend booking. It was all excellent but a special mention to the tiger prawns, mushrooms and patatas bravas. It has a nice atmosphere, the staff are lovely and the owner is great and really friendly, and they all make you feel valued and so welcome as a diner. Definitely recommend, you won't be disappointed!

Tucked away from the main bit of Banks Rd West Kirby, but we'll worth a little 10 minute walk from the station. The andalusian chicken was excellent. Good friendly service and good tasty dishes.

Beautiful food, good service, 2 hour slot for your table not good. Considering the price (thoroughly deserved) we could happily have stayed longer

Never had a bad meal or dish here. Same attention to quality and detail put into the food whether it’s a weekend or week night. Service relaxed and unfussy and always polite. Great place.

West Kirby .. has many good restaurants .. this one is on a separate level .. food is excellent ..

food was good ... but totally spoilt by the terrible service... wish the staff put as much effort into the customers as they do into their laptop... it took over 40 minutes to order our main and our coffee to arrive ....

Spur of the moment visit but so glad we did. Lively atmosphere and superb food. Restaurant was rather noisy think the wooden floors and decor bounce the noise about and air con made it cold but other than that we loved it.

Went there for an early evening meal. It was very busy but the service was good. Have to say I really enjoyed the food and the sangria. Next time I am in West Kirby I think I will dine there again.

Food was good though some obvious Spanish tapas staples were oddly absent. Dining experience is a bit mixed as they have different styles of table and seating arrangements. The full tables and chairs are good. The tall tables not great for a full meal. The standard tables but with bench seats become quickly uncomfortable and don't encourage you to extend your stay.

After visiting last week I havent stopped thinking about the food here! Absolutely the best tapas I've ever had in the UK! Their morcilla is every bit as good as any I've ever eaten in Spain! Can't wait to return!

We had a wonderful time here last night. Little did I know, I was about to get engaged and the staff and manager went above and beyond to ensure the night was as special and magical as possible. And the food was exquisite. After just one visit, tapas kitchen is already one of my favourite places to go! A bit thank you to all the staff on last night ❤

Food was excellent as usual, but felt the 2 serving staff were inadequate for a ‘full house.’ No check to see if food was OK, no check to see if we wanted more wine. No check when we were finished food to see if we wanted dessert and no bill until I asked for it.

Lovely food. Good atmosphere. Friendly service. Some more staff needed but that's the same for all hospitality venues coming out of lockdown I believe. Would happily return.

TTK is the best restaurant on the Wirral,the food,service and atmosphere are all consistently great.The new menu whilst retaining a lot of old favourites has several excellent new dishes.

This was the last place we visited before the lock down and the first since the restrictions were lifted. Once again we were not disappointed, Colin and his team provided excellent service during a very busy service and all the food was of the usual high standard and quality.It won't be long before we return and can highly recommend visiting this wonderful piece of Spain in West Kirby.

Excellent service(5 star) food (3 star) so I gave a four Wild mushrooms the best thing I had there along with the shrimp fritters, blackpudding dish wasn't that good, but overall a pleasant experience,

We had 8 dishes and bread between 3 of us. Every dish was delicious and authentically Spanish. Portions were generous and the meal was ready to collect exactly on time. Highly recommended.

We’ve been visiting the tapas kitchen for years now and have never been disappointed! At the moment, it is getting us through lockdown and the takeaway version is just as nice as in the restaurant. Would highly recommend, best restaurant on the Wirral.
