A new family favourite! We love coming here on a weekend, the food is all about decadence! Food is tasty, reasonably priced and the staff are all attentive, only negative about the place is the toilets, every time I've been, they are a bit of a mess.

visiting a friend who lives nearby so this was our first time here, very impressed, service was excellent and friendly, food choice was amazing and what we has was excellent, our only gripe if you could call it that was we think the dog policy needs a little work, there always seems to be one that goes crazy when it sees another dog, we think it should be made clear to patrons that if their dog becomes a nuisance then they need to leave, i hasten to add we are dog lovers and our friend had her impeccably behaved dog with us, but one of the dogs on another table frankly spoiled to lunch for us. great place though and wished we lived closer

Service was appalling all evening. None of our order came at the same time. We had drinks where 4 of the 5 came. The 5th arriving some 10minutes later after asking again. When the food arrived the kids meals arrived and we're all eaten before the adult meals arrived. Even after asking for bill we had to wait 10 minutes to arrive with waitress seeing to multiple other tables. Once bill arrived the drink that we had to wait for had been charged twice. The saving grace was when this was raised and they were told we wouldn't be paying the tip that they put automatically on the bill, it was updated along with all drinks removed. Hence the 2 stars.

The food was very good, but for a gastro pub it's quite expensive. £126 for 2 adults and 2 children, including 1 drink each, I felt was over the top price wise.

Crazy, so good and tasty!!! You have to go there at least once in your life! Like in America with super quality meat! Incredible staff! The nicest people I've ever met in a restaurant (no joke). Offers meal-sized samples just for you to taste (homemade meat and drinks) very reasonable price! Family friendly but also suitable for young adults (sports bar in the restaurant). I advise anyone to order the brisket (the best I've tasted in my life and I've already been a little less than 10 times in America). I added a photo of the brisket.

Absolutely Fabulous atmosphere and service. Food lovely as usual. We had last minute change of plan so decided to take out baby girl (2now) for a birthday meal and Tanisha our server did absolutely fantastic job to make our little girls meal special. She had a happy birthday song and a special chocolate board. Our daughter loved eating and messing with the chocolate and lovely addition to the board :) Thank you Tanisha for being so chilled and lovely.

Food was to die for. The waiter was full of energy nice young lad. The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the loud customers. It's basically the caldy McDonald's for rars. They need to learn manners.

I’ve been going to hickories in west Kirby for years, always been 5 stars. First time back in a while, and I’m disappointed. The food was fantastic, service fantastic, but my god have they succumbed to shrinkflation. I always thought of hickories as somewhere you go and come out stuffed. I had the brisket and it was literally about 4 slices of meat and chips, plus some slaw. For £20! Times are tough but it’s not the way to go in my opinion!

We had such a lovely afternoon at hickory’s. The staff were amazing and the food was delicious. We took my dog and they were so accommodating to him. They got him water, some brisket and made such a fuss, he loved it. We sometimes get worried with his breed and how people will react when out for food and you made us feel so welcome. Thank you so much to the team!!

We visited West kirby Hickory's with our children for the first time today. Our son had a football match in the morning, and after this, we were hungry and thought we would give it a try. I'm so happy that we did! We were welcomed warmly on arrival, shown to a lovely booth which was next to the cinema! I was so surprised to see a cinema inside hickorys and our kids loved it! The team member looking after us was called Sam. He was such a genuinely nice guy, so friendly and warm. We all felt settled and comfortable with him. Sam brought over pop corn for the children (so obviously they loved him), which really helped to entertain them whilst we ordered food in peace. The menu was fantastic. so tempted by the ribs and it felt almost sinful not to order them, but we were just stopping by for some quick brunch. We had breakfasts and ordered the kid's hotdogs, which were all large portions. All of our food was fantastic and could not recommend this venue enough, especially for children. Also, I would like to thank Sam for making our visit such a lovely one. He made us all feel so welcome and told us that even our whippet Marley would be welcome next visit too! We will definitely be back with marley for some lovely food. Thanks to the great food and friendly atmosphere, Thanks again x

Really great place for special occasions. The food was top quality, and the atmosphere was great. Every member of staff was really nice, and the server we had, Paige was great. The 3AM mac 'n' cheese was unreal. 5/5 ⭐️

Dirty cutlery, food is not worth what they are charging and service is pretty poor.

Nice place, friendly staff, good atmosphere, but the food wasn't great for the money. My brisket was very small for £20, nothing like the description, and contained far too much fat and gristle. Served with a tiny amount of gravy. I couldn't eat all the meat. No vegetables are on the menu, which I found odd - just cheap to make 'sides' such as chips and onion rings. I accepted a free dessert for the meat issue, but I would have preferred a refund as it was pretty inedible. My partner's sea bass was also poor in her opinion. Overall, not one we'll go back to.

Going to have to consider a size bigger in clothes 🤔 had half rack of ribs in maple syrup, beautiful, came with chips and slaw, £18.50, lovely ribs, had chilli and onion , side, with chips, as a side I ordered onion rings, £5.25, expensive for what i considered a taster, I thought, but OMG, fabulous, massive, they were the best I've ever tasted, wine was £25.00 a bottle, pint of Astral a fiver, not cheap but better than your average pub meal, thinking gready, was going to order full rack of ribs, about £25.00 but honestly was so full, on a half, good place to eat, good atmosphere and even better if you grab the sofas in the conservatory, really comfy. 5 Stars

The overpriced breakfast is not even a one star, truly awful. Small portion, half a tomato, overcooked egg, rock hard waffle. 2nd.time in a row food has been average, won't be returning, bill over £100.

Went there to celebrate my son's 18th Hair in the steak and plastic in the desert. Poor food but pleasant staff and environment. Wouldn't eat there again one bad thing you can accept but not 2. Really disappointed ruined what should have been a lovely evening. Really need to sort the food hygiene procedure out.

Went to Hickory’s in November with some friends. As a vegetarian I was a bit worried there wouldn’t be anything for me to eat. I got the vegan wraps with a side of mushrooms and they were delicious. The staff were lovely and so attentive. I would definitely go again.

Food was delicious as always, staff very friendly and professional unfortunately there was a live music act and despite asking twice for the speakers to be turned down we weren’t able to have a conversation - don’t go on a Friday if you want to have a conversation, do come on a Friday if you want to listen to live music - any other day of the week it’s an amazing evening out :)

Despite booking a table was forced to wait in the bar for half an hour. Just ridiculous amounts of people talking over each other. Had to leave in the end.

Booked a table and was seated in the conservatory that was freezing cold. Waited 45 minutes to be served a drink and was told we could be moved inside. This was not the case. We ended up being moved to a slightly warmer table closer to a heater over an hour later

Really excellent place to grab some lunch or dinner. Really good selection to choose from, something for everyone. I got the hickorys breakfast, really decent amount of food, and really tasty. The waffle was an unsual touch. My partner had the mac n cheese, with sf chicken on top. Which i ate 😁 The chicken was superb! Plenty of parking and not too far from west kirkby beach, if you wanted to have a nice stroll along there. Best thing there by far was the staff, one girl in particular with cool green and black hair. Was really friendly, very helpful and it was quite busy and could see she was working hard but nothing was too much trouble. Wish i could have got her name as she was excellent!

Food was great and it was a pretty buzzing place. Service was a tiny tad slow but nothing that bothered us really and, as I said, the place was buzzing so I am sure they were full on workload wise. Will definitely go back.

I took my partner here to break in her hickory's cherry, and she was amazed by how nice it was.. she even ate my brisket, yet she never liked it beforehand (a bit mad at that, but I'll let her off 🤣). In the words of Toby keith.. I love this bar. it's my kind of place 🤘 love the American football decor around the bar area. Love the food. the staff is always amazing and cheerful no matter how rushed of their feet they're. The atmosphere is always buzzing.

Absolutely awful. Late breakfast with the extended family. Service was terrible even though it wasn't busy. Teapots and cups filthy stained and lipstick. Some meals were cold, taken away after complaining and one never came back. Poor quality all round. Not just my opinion but the whole group was disappointed. My pregnant daughter ended up not having anything to eat as her meal was the one they brought back as we were leaving. Have not been here for a few years and will not be back in a hurry unless things change. Maybe they are now concentrating on their new Wrexham venue and letting others go to the dogs, not that they would even eat here

Food is very good, recommend the bourbon bacon bites and the frozen custard is ace! Don't sit by the door, it gets a bit chilly.

Great night, birthday for my sister, brother-in-law and nephew. We were well looked after by Cameron, who was very helpful and friendly. Always reassuring when one of you has a nut allergy. Great job by the whole team, especially Cameron. 👏

Really disappointing. We come here all the time but the most recent times have been very poor. Cleanliness was pretty bad, the booth we had was covered in glitter and pieces of food. I had to ask for a new mug because the mug I was provided was dirty. We had to wait 30 + mins for food as they had “run out of eggs”. Our meal arrived with eggs and sausage missing? We had to speak to someone again and received an extra sausage as an apology. For the amount we paid (£40 for breakfast for 2 people) it’s not good enough really is it? I know I’ll receive a generic response to this review as a cover up, but I do hope someone could contact me directly as we would at least like this to be resolved and not brushed off. Thank you.

Great place to eat and drink. The staff are excellent. The only downside is the parking. The car park is always full. So, get a taxi and try the cocktails!!

Brilliant time this weekend at Hickory’s The place was well decorated for Halloween and the addition of the three witches from hocus pocus was a great idea. They were excellent. Food was at the usual high standard as well.

Had a great time here, really enjoyed the food and the restaurant had a Halloween theme going with actors which we really enjoyed.

Came here yesterday at 1 with my brother, sister in law and partner, my brother had recommended this place and told me to order the meat platter, it was really nice the, chicken wings, ribs etc were cooked really well had so much flavour to them all, also had the mac and cheese with brisket which was also lovely, for drinks I had the vampires kiss cocktail which was delicious, can’t wait to come back, staff were really friendly too

Nice place, food ok but expensive for the limited quality. Lots of very young children whilst we were there (7pm-9:30pm) Staff did incredibly well as it was so busy.

Absloutly love this venue so beautiful, staff were very accommodating and helpful lovely atmosphere we sat outside which was lovely and warm. Food gourgeous i had the steak and we had starters and a main quite expensive but if you want quality thats what you get so deffinatley worth it. Family of seven went for a birthday celebration. Good food choices for children and adults. Good selection of drinks. Very friendly staff loved the little bags of popcorn at the start...Daughters Birthday made special when they brought her cake out, with a sparkler, and the whole annex area sang to her and cheered, amazing. Thanks for a great evening x Hubbie had the Go big or go home burger (huge, but he ate it haha ) We had the fajitas, tasty, filling and didn't need a side of fries with it...😋

Been going years and last night was truly the worst food I’ve ever had . Definitely not fresh . All reheated and hard and dry . Ribs were like beef jerky , chicken wings dry and tough . Cold dry chicken goujons . Shocking , get your act together , no wonder the restaurant was dead last night !

My eldest daughters food came out much later than everyone else's. The staff were very apologetic and knocked off the price of the meal from our bill. Great customer service.

Great quality from start to finish staff great great welcome and seated straight away, drinks service was good and just the right amount time to choose food and a good selection of starters mains and sides, not being a dessert person but the others loved the choice and their selections, and round a great place to go for good food good service and a lively atmosphere very popular with families and adults.

Had the combo plate £31 and partner had the brisket £20 , when the food came the server said dipping the short rib and brisket in the gravy is a must , he wasn't wrong , the meat was that dry . Best thing on the plate was pulled pork and beans , probably as it was covered in sauce . The day was roasting and we commented on how hot we were so they set us next to a window with the sun shining directly through it , further inside the restaurant there was seating that was.lovelybamd cool but looked as of it wasn't being used unless busier than it was . You might say why didn't we ask to be moved but it was hard enough trying to get the staffs attention away from their own conversation between the little gathering of them all . Same deal trying to get the bill , £63 for a overcooked lunch served by uninterested staff in a dining area that had about as much of a atmosphere as a morgue

Don't go when football is on...a family of 8 and we get put in the bar area when football was on, nightmare if u want to have a conversation!!..Spent £192 but DEFINITELY WONT BE COMING BACK!!!.

The food was good but not the same as in Chester, the staff member kept us waiting with our 3 kids by the bar for a table for over 10 minutes, when there were plenty of free tables.

This eating house is well worth your time. The ambience is very pleasant and service is swift and smiley. You're actually asked if you're happy with the food and they'll even help you choose!! (The brisket and fajitas are both excellent dishes!!) But ... I'd like to see a better choice of draught beers & lagers and the dessert prices are, I am sorry to say - like most eating houses these days - just plain silly. £6.95 and £7.99 etc for a mere pudding?? Sorry, but I ain't paying that - ever. It's just too big a rip off. Set your prices sensibly - say £4-£5 a pudd - and you will surely sell more. After all, you can buy a massive and thoroughly delicious whole cake at Costco for £8-12 or so!! And it'll feed a family for a few days! For sure, I will happily eat here again, but rising prices and weighty charges seriously alter the dining out experience, making it an occasional pleasure rather than a regular treat.

Food was delicious especially the steak taster, it was the best steak I have ever tasted. We will certainly be back soon. The staff are absolutely brilliant, nothing is to much. Looking forward to going back very soon.

Always a great meal here, if your looking for american styled BBq and smoked meat this is the place. They do have a few vegetarian options which make it good for going with friends, the atmosphere is good, they have sports on usually as well. There's seats outside on a deck when sunny also.

The pork, cheese and jalapeño sausage is huge! Great for a meat fest night out, all in all a taste of American sports bar life.

Fantastic meal and service! Liam was a great host, very attentive to our table. Highly recommend the toasting marshmallows for dessert. The free popcorn is a lovely touch.
