Royal Bengal in Wirral

Had many take outs from here, and have eaten in several times over the years, so we know that the food is quality. Decided to dine here last night. Entered restaurant at 7pm and had popadoms and drinks. Our main meal was served to us (after making a complaint) at 8.30pm. The evening was saved by amazing customer service. All our wine was discounted from the bill and a further bottle provided…… thank you so much! The restaurant was extremely busy with large parties and the amount of take outs was unreal!!!!! Dry ice on table pretentious 🤷🏻‍♂️ Food was immense as ever 👍

Came here on a whim whilst visiting West Kirby. Food was incredible, I had the butter chicken and my partner had the tandoori chicken. Genuinely one of the nicest meals I’ve ever eaten. And the staff were lovely! 100% recommend

I ordered a delivery take out for friends, not having eaten at the Royal Bengal for a number of years. My benchmark meal, for comparison, at all Indian restaurants is a chicken vindaloo and, sadly, this time , I was not impressed as it tasted rather bland. We also ordered 1 naan and 1 peshwari naan but the ones which arrived were both plain naans. One of our friends ordered a chicken tikka main course and left half of it as it was on the dry side. Maybe, we were just unfortunate as previous meals there, albeit 7 years ago were faultless.

The guys who run this know how to make customers happy in every way. top service, food is always spot on, be that eat in or delivery. Our favorites last time were the King Prawn Sagwalla, Chicken Pakora, Chana Pardesh Lamb and we always have a Mixed Special Biryani. Compared to other places, this is not greasy or generic base sauces used. Very flavoursome. Recommend this place.

Me and my husband visited Royal Bengal over the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. As soon as we arrived we was greeted with a smile and welcomed in. The friendly and welcoming service carried on throughout our evening. Everyone worked as a team and it was great to see the staff were passionate about their job and the food they serve. The food was amazing, every dish was beyond expectation and the flavours were like an explosion in your mouth. We’ve been to many Indian restaurants that claim to be authentic but I can truly say Royal Bengal lived up to the expectation. We can’t thank the team enough for making our night special and giving us such a pleasant experience. We will definitely be visiting again and recommend to all our friends and family.

Booked a table for 3 of us for 7pm, rang in to see if we could have it any earlier, they said to come at 6.45pm, no mention of any time the table was needed back for. Food was lovely as always, the only complaint was just as we were finishing our meal a waiter asked us if we wanted any more drinks, we ordered more drinks from him. 5 minutes after receiving the drinks another waiter told us the table was needed back in 5 minutes 😮 we’d only been sat down at the table for just over an hour…had I have known this we wouldn’t have ordered our second drinks as we had to gulp them down…we felt pressured to leave as the waiter then came over with the bill…quickly followed by the card machine…they couldn’t get us out quick enough…£84 for a meal for 3 of us which was meant to be an ‘evening out’ turned out to be a very expensive hour and 15 minutes!

Excellent service, menu, quality of food, delicious cocktail, dry ice accompanied food presentation at table, great fun to see the white cloud envelope the table.

Easily the best Indian restaurant on the Wirral the food is always to a high standard if you haven't been here you need to!!

A disappointingly average meal. The best part was the poppadoms/allied sauces and the beer. The prawn puri was acceptable, but the sea bass on a bed of spinach was very poor. The fish was well overcooked and quite bland as was the spinach accompaniment. The Bombay potatoes I had with the fish were quite soft and the sauce very generic. The service however, was very good.

This is an amazing restaurant and we regularly make a 1.5 hour round trip to eat there. The food is superb and the service is second to none. Never had a bad meal here

Absolutely fantastic experience here, the food was incredible and spicy (which we love!) - would 100% recommend the chilli massala - so much flavour!! Thank you to the staff, especially Raheem who helped us with menu choices and looked after our table for the evening.

I visited the restaurant over Christmas with 10 friends. The food was brilliant, the service was great too. I had the “Mancunian” I know it’s a strange name but it’s very v good, creamy tamatoey and the right amount of spice. Since going to the restaurant I’ve ordered two takeaways and had the same again I know boring right, but the quality of the food just as good. I’m booked into the restaurant next Friday for my birthday aswell. Can’t wait.

We had a wonderful NYE meal here, they accommodated us at short notice , service and food were great! Highly recommend trying the fusion platter! Reasonably priced and great quality

We always enjoy a night out at Royal Bengal. It’s busy, it’s vibrant and the staff always attend with great service. If you’re in the area and ever feeling a curry, this is the place to be!

What a place! The food here is another level, the atmosphere and the service just make your experience that much better. Ollie manages to squeeze us in without a booking, the place was super busy! We manages to get a booth to ourselves at 9pm. The Garlic Chicken Stir Fry was my starter, followed by muglai lamb chops. The flavours were so unique and tatsy. We just moved in to Hoylake and were pleased to hear they deliver there too! We will be for sure ordering soon.

Avoid like the plague. Nearly ruined a 40th birthday celebration. Booked a table for 12. Had the email the booking was confirmed but then they decided to give the table to someone else. Absolutely useless. Managed to get in the Shuhel further down so top marks to them! EDIT - if you need a deposit why on earth don’t you take one when people make a booking? Why didn’t you just email me??? Just admit you totally messed up. Absolutely pathetic service.

30th Birthday booking table for 25 people We booked our table, paid a small deposit which is taken off the bill. Everyone loved their food, the staff are patient with us whilst we all took time to order. The service is top notch and we all said we want to come again. The music is good, there is a buzz in this place which keeps you wanting more. Overwll 10/10! Well done Royal Bengal team

One of the best Indian restaurants in Merseyside! My friends, family and I all love coming here and it’s our favourite place to go for an Indian. The food is absolutely incredible and the staff are always so friendly and welcoming, and go the extra mile to make sure your evening is the best it can be. Lovely atmosphere, would definitely recommend!

The best Indian restaurant on the Wirral. I’ve been to my fair share of Indian restaurants and my friends and I have fell in love with Royal Bengal. The atmosphere, the staff and the food is always spot on!

We came on a Monday evening Unfortunately the restaurant was Very preoccupied with providing huge amounts of takeaway orders for people. So we arrived at 7 pm, and we didn’t get our main course until 8:30pm. The waiter was running around and seemed harassed and the atmosphere felt tense and uncomfortable. Not once were we apologised to for the delay. Even if they acknowledged the fact that we were waiting for a very long time would have placated us slightly. I think it’s important that the staff are friendly and helpful - they weren’t. I understand they were busy, but I don’t think we should’ve as paying customers been neglected while they were doing all these takeaway orders.

I recently visited Royal Bengal after travelling back from London and had a delicious take away dinner in the evening. I had the Chicken Balti curry, which didn’t disappoint. It was good value for money, amazing food, and much better than other Indian Restaurants in West Kirby.

Our first visit to Royal Bengal and won’t be our last - the food was delicious, reasonably priced and ready to pick up on time despite being a busy Saturday night. Thank you, we’ll be back!

we were at the doorstep today while looking for a dinner in the evening. we were put off by a qr Code to find a menu. not everyone got a phone or the skills to use this system. also finding the menu online you have to accept lots of cookies which is awful as well. we chosen somewhere else tonight (where there was a menu in the window).

We were told our food would be ready in 30 minutes.....turned up after 40 minutes. Waited another 45 minutes for the collection, they had the audacity to charge us for the £10 for 2 beers we had while waiting, then forgot our keema naan and bhajis. Lovely food though. The lads also Weren't happy with United drawing with villa.

Amazing service from all the staff who couldnt do enough for us, with a particular mention to Raj our waiter!! Such a lovely fella, polite, courteous and very attentive! Delicious food! My girlfriend and I stayed overnight in Hensall and decided to drive up to West Kirby in the evening for a walk around the Marine Lake. After a brisk walk and a beautiful sunset we ventured in to town to find somewhere to eat and stumbled upon this place. It was very busy, which is usually a good sign. I ordered a Chicken Balti and my better half had a Malayan. We had the dips tray with poppadom to start and it was a nice mix of sweet flavoured onion, mango chutney, Yoghurt and a mild spicy sauce. As for the main - I can honestly say that this was one of the best Baltis I've ever eaten! A perfect medium spice curry which left a wonderful tingle on the tongue and gums long after I'd finished. The garlic Naan bread that accompanied it was a good size, fresh and very delicious. For the Malayan they use banana and my girlfriend found it to be creamy, sweet and delicious. To top things off all of the staff were very friendly and attentive, we heard many compliments being given around us. All in all a very lovely experience and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

4 hour delivery during CovidNew Year’s Eve, obviously couldn’t handle the volume of orders. Online advised 90minute delivery but took four hours. They could have called and cancelled, but didnt, they could have answered their phone, but didn’t. When the food arrived at nearly 10:00 pm we declined it. They could have refunded, but didn’t, despite us asking.Appalling lack of service, no attempt to rectify the situation. No way would I ever give them any further business.

Our family has been visiting the Royal Bengal for over 10 years now- it is our favourite restaurant/ Indian takeaway. We never consider anywhere else for Indian food. The food is delicious and always of a high standard. The restaurant offers great value for money and staff are always so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant to others.

We had super take away curries from here during lockdown and on this occasion took advantage of the eat out to help out scheme and sat in. Myself and my friend had a lovely meal. The curry was creamy and delicious. The naan bread was excellent. I liked the staff they were doing a great job. We shall be back.

Firstly, we haven't used Royal Bengal in a number of years as they changed Management and at the time we weren't happy with the food...but my brother kept harking on at me, so after a long break and disappointment from our regular takeaway we tried them once again. The food was fantastic, No complaints from either of us. I like Naga dishes and their Chicken Naga was top class. Definitely back soon.

I had an amazing stay at Itc Royal Bengal in August. Wonderful property and great atmosphere. And a special thanx to Ms.Kunju,Swarnali and Praveen for making my stay more fabulous.

Not our local Indian restaurant but after discovering a few months ago have been using weekly ever since for takeaways during lockdown. We went to dine in last Wednesday evening on the eat out to help out. The restaurant was so busy and had a vibrant buzz, staff so friendly and attentive. These guys really knew what they were doing, every surface was cleared, sprayed and sanitised as soon as it finished with and set up again. They have also put up Perspex dining dividers which don’t detract from your general view. Their food is the best Indian food by far in my opinion in this area and there are very few that I haven’t tried, it’s consistently good too, never had an off meal. Tried their Bengal dish for a change, a house speciality curry with egg and potato, it was delicious. There was 3 of us on this occasion, 3 starters, 2 bottles of wine, 3 mains and 4 sides just over £20 each ( with the deal). Look forward to returning soon, everything about the visit excellent.

Excellent takeaway delivered on time very tasty.

Royal Bengal opens at 5pm. Booked by telephone easily and able to modify to add another diner, no problem. Got there, and hand sanitizer is straight away available, all staff were masked. There were transparent screens in between tables! We were the first dine in customers for the evening when we arrived at 6pm. Ordered some poppadoms & chutneys (4). House wine was reasonable and only £13. My friend and I had garlic chicken stir fry as a starter and her partner had stuffed pepper, all lovely. Neither could we fault the mains of chicken tikka vindaloo and Manchurian chicken (a sweet and spicy curry with a nice kick aftertaste), together with rice, chips and a couple of naans all of us left happy and full. All a very reasonable £86. Very happy and will call again!

Delicious food in generous amounts - have ordered from here several times

Ordered delivery this evening for a family of 3 vegetarians. We have a weekly curry out at Shuhel Balti but after lock down we have tried other local restaurants. We ordered our regular order, including vegetable samosas- which came as meat. Rang up after realising they had meat in, only to be initially told that they would have been definitely vegetarian, it was only when I questioned further that the staff confirmed by asking the chef that meat samosas had actually been sent. I was asked for my name for a future order, not sure as why? Maybe a free starter next time. Either way, I've now paid for a meat starter which we didn't want and have not been refunded for.My daughter who has been brought up vegetarian didnt want any of the other meal after, so I ended up cooking. We won't order from here again due to the lackadaisical attitude to what was a serious mistake if an allegen was involved so won't benefit from another starter to replace the one we have paid for that was incorrect.I am writing a review for anyone who has a allergy or dietary requirement to please check the order before consuming.

We’ve had three takeaways form the Royal Bengal since the start of the lock down and I must admit I’ve been very impressed.Ordering online is easy . The delivery time is given when you order and has always been on time or slightly earlier .The quality of the food has really impressed us and has changed our opinion dramatically about takeaway food.Well done to everyone at the Royal , keep up the good work

It would be hard to find a better Indian restaurant in India; The special hot Byriani is perfection - been eating it for 15 years and it never fails to make me a happy man. If you ever read a bad review about this place - try it for yourself and you'll see that some people just love to complain.

Ordered a delivery tonight. Have been going to Royal Bengal for forty years but not tried under new owners and then lockdown arrived. What an amazing meal arrived before stated time very hot and tasted fantastic. Will be first on list when country back to normal .

We got a delivery from here and it was excellent. We got poppadoms and a sauce tray. I had a really good talapia fish for starter and a chicken tikka cylon. The cylon was gorgeous! It was spicy and so tasty. The dhall we got too was lovely. Really impressed thank you!

This was our first restaurant when we got engaged at 15, we have been going here ever since that was 45 years ago, I placed an order last week, to be delivered at 7PM, it was a special treat for my husband, it arrived at 6PM before he was home so was spoiled by the time he got in, very disappointed with this, afterbeing a dedicated customer for all these years
