Akbor's in Wirral

We ordered a Delivery which always fast and arrives hot .Great tasty Indian food which doesn't disappoint on spice or taste .

Been here loads of times and never had a problem. This time we ordered food for delivery. Some items were missing, the popadoms clearly cooked in old oil and tasted awful. The tarka dahl was inedible as was the naan bread. Very disappointed. Also they have had a note on their door saying card machine broken for about 6 years. Clearly they need to just say they are cash only.

Excellent menu , fabulous service , lovely food, the staff were warm, welcoming and couldn’t do enough to please! I would definitely recommend . Well done Akbars Moreton!

Went at 7pm waited 45-50 minutes for our starters alone then their was another long wait for the mains which come in drips and drabs we had the rice come first along with the nann bread and by the time the curry come the rice was cold given half portions of the curry. We also ordered a curry to take away when we was done, we asked and it hadn’t even been started so then we was expected to then wait again. (We left the curry)More staff needed only had two staff so don’t know why they would let people book in if they can’t correctly cater for them. They prioritise the takeout more than the people In the actual restaurant dining in

Good food, nice staff, wide range of authentic Asian food.

New owners but still fabulous food and great service can’t fault it.

I was extremely disappointed my order firstly was all over the bag. No due care or attention with delivery, curry everywhere. Then to add insult to injury it was stone cold. I live actually 2 minutes away. The chicken was tough and looked like it had been warmed up several times. Didn’t look, feel like chicken no idea what it was. The whole lot went straight in the bin and completely washed over £14. Rang the restaurant not that bothered said he would knock something off my next order. In what world would I ever order food there again. I wouldn’t even give them 1* disgusting…

Just ordered my first take away from here. Food was delicious and the delivery woman was lovely. Will definitely order again :)

Takeaway- delicious. As well as eat in, this is also a takeaway. I’ve eaten from there before. Always good quality food, delivery was speedy and the food still hot.

Having tried every curry house on the Wirral in our work ‘curry club’ and we always find ourselves coming back to Akbors.

service was surly and slow,and then i found out it was Halal, i left my plate and walked out, barbaric..

After 2 hours waiting they decided to cancel our order ….. shocking customer service

It's really tasty hot food. Much improved since we last went a couple of years ago. I believe it's a new team?

Manager always looks at his watch if you walk in at 8.30pm and says you'll need to be quick as we close at 9.30pm. Rushes you continously and has obviously never had hospitality training. Heard him one time muttering 'come on lads' to himself when approaching half 9. Went there at 8.40pm once and he said they were closed. If you are still there around 9.30pm he is literally sweeping the floor under your feet. We initially thought that it was quite amusing in a Fawlty Towers kind of way but it soon wore off after one too many glances at the watch. Used to be really good and on first name terms with the staff there. Not any more! Shame really because the food is decent and good value for money.

I visited here with a group of friends .. we all ate different meals .. I unfortunately chose a King Prawn dish. The following day I came out in a terrible rash. Five weeks later I'm still trying to get rid of it.. my gp thinks it was the seafood which I eat regularly. Just a heads up..

This is our go to Indian Restaurant. The food is always perfect. Generous portions and outstanding value. Always greeted when we enter the restaurant and the service is outstanding.

Very disappointed with the food, only 2 people in the restaurant and were watched by the staff all the time, asked were the disabled toilet was and was told they didn’t have one, had to leave early and will never be going back, such a disappointing experience!

Well was recommended this place and oh boy we weren't disappointed, it was buetiful, delivered on time , garlic chilli chicken, chicken korma, pilau + veg rice , and samosas, £25, will use again.

Beautiful hot fresh food friendly service great price. Well worth a visit.

My favourite dish is Lamb Dhansak, and I must say the one that I had delivered tonight was the best I have ever eaten. Happy days, will gladly call again.

Only used this "restaurant' which is really a take away when TIKKA 2 min walk away was closed... Be under no mistake what AKBORS offers is poor quality food. Luke warm! I would rather eat an Iceland meal than to have to eat here again.. and what sort of "restaurant" states written on a paper bag stuck to the door.. cash only.. which I may add the door is held together with piece of wire.. yes my own fault for putting myself through this pathetic take away

Leaving party for a work colleague.. i live in moreton eaten in akbors numerous times. Our food arrived rice separate. I added half the rice to my meal picked up my cutlery and went to start eating a fly crawled out of my rice slowly obviously dazed by the heat of the really hot rice i flicked it from my meal and my friend squashed it on the table. The waiter brought me a new meal but i hardly touched it. Then my friend found a long hair that i watched her pull fromm under her chicken curry. To be told we all have black hair. No reduction from our 7 meals and we still gave them a £10 tip. It was my recommendation we went there. HOW EMBARRASSING. NEVER AGAIN.

Booked a table for a birthday celebration but due to family member being poorly I have had to cancel it ! I rang and gave them 24 hours noticed and apologised but had to cancel and been told that they now have my number and I am now blacklisted and if I want to return I will have to pay a deposit !! How rude and unprofessional ..no details where taken ie phone number or a deposit asked for when I made the booking and I had the decency to ring and tell them !!!! Shouldn’t have bothered ! And will not return again

First time customers, the food was amazing, cooked to perfection. Taste was all perfect. Even changed our order to suit what we wanted. Food delivery was fast, hot food an Great delivery service. No faults at all. This is our new India takeaway.

Ordered food at 6pm… nothing arrived at 7.45 so rang back to be told us t has left shop and will be with me within 20 minutes… been ringing back since 8.15 to be ringing out with no one picking phone up!! Still waiting at 9pm!!! Always order from here but now will not again…. Very poor service and such. Waste !

My first try of this is place, certainly won't be my last. Food was excellent, tandoori items were properly marinated (a rarity these days), main courses were wonderfully flavoured. Best meal I've had in a while, certainly knocks the spots off anything in Hoylake and gives West Kirby's Indians a run for its money

Went for 1st time before.i asked for tandoori chicken breast starter.when home it was a leg?.nan bread was crispy & flat.not puffy at all,curry was lovely tho!.I will try them again and mention the rest.

Great value for money, quick service, friendly staff. You have to bring your own alcohol. Good mixed kebab starter. Excellent, delicious Murgh Keema main; chicken and keema actually served separately but on same plate which worked very well.

Literally walked in no booking Saturday night, table for three no problems, so glad we did we would definitely recommend to anybody.. Five of us arrived for a late (21:00) dinner on May 27. The food was sensational, without exception. The staff very attentive and had a great sense of humour. Especially when I told them we were on an HMRC night out and had no probs paying cash! But, I have to repeat the fact that our meals were absolutely fantastic! The restaurant is beautifully clean and comfortable. We felt a little guilty as we were the last to leave. Well done to all of the staff there. We’ll be back again. Highly recommended. Just to be clear…… we’re not HMRC!

Omg super clean, attentive staff but not intrusive, fantastic food, first time visiting last night wont be the last! Wheelchair accessible but no disabled toilet and cash only and no alcohol! No probs with that just so ur aware but food was beautiful 🥰

Last week had a delivery on time as usual. Dont know the guys name but we mistakenly gave him a £20 thinking it was £10. He knocked again realising our mistake and gave £10 back very honest man, thank you 👍

Beautiful food. After realising that we hadn't received our chutney tray we called up and within 10minutes they delivered the chutney tray with free poppadoms! Outstanding customer service! Our new favourite Indian! Would 100% recommend! Best lamb pathia I have ever tasted....and I have tasted alot!

First takeaway from here last week and it was lovely. Prepared on time, friendly staff. Chicken tikka masala was lovely, naan breads fresh and poppadoms lovely. Butter chicken sauce was thinner than experienced before but tasted okay.

3rd time in as many weeks that me and missus have ordered a take away from here...... And what can I say....... Sublime I've just eaten a chicken vidaloo best meal I've ever had

There is nothing bad to say about this wonderful welcoming restaurant. From start to finish the staff are happy to assist. During the lock downs we have continued to have takeaways and the standard is as good as you were eating in . Many friends and family also make this a first choice if planning a celebration from 40th birthdays 21st or just meeting up . Always a pleasure Barry and Margy

Just perfect! Attention to detail. From arriving. Greeted on a 1st name basis. Starters and mains were perfectly served and so so tasty. Good portions and reasonably priced. Recommend. Still love the fact you can take your your drinks

This place is a gem, food was excellent, friendly staff and very clean. We will definitely be going back in the new year.

Food actually 4star, staff too and lovely inside. Lower rating for two things; first, they don’t have an alcohol licence which would have been nice to know when we booked, not when we tried to order some. Second, and the biggy, they take cash only, no cards or contactless. It’s nearly 2021 people, the country is riddled with Covid and you’re a restaurant not a roadside caff in an ISO container. Oh, and as much as I really liked your staff, please don’t have them shake people’s hands on the way out. Not good anymore.

We visited this evening as a family 2 adults 2 children. The food was exceptional, so fresh and tasty. We all enjoyed it. The restaurant itself is so clean and modern. I would definitely recommend this place and will most definitely be visiting again!

All I can say is that they treat you like you are a part of the family. The service is very good and the food is amazing. I love the Akbor special. They make your evening enjoyable.

I've reviewed Akbor's before a few years ago and we visited again after they closed for a few months during covid lockdowns and did a refurb. Fortunately they were able to stay open (unlike some restaurants). The menu is a good size, with something for everyone. The food is very good indeed and I've found the staff are more than happy to make recommendations if you are stuck for choice. Importantly, especially in these times, everything feels nice and safe. Hand gel available if you don't have your own, everyone was wearing masks etc and there was good distancing between tables. Be sure to book a table as it can get busy (it's that good!). Highly recommended still!

Lovely restaurant. Best indian we have been to.

Our first visit since reopening was a real “wow”. Decor is modern and relaxing, great mood lighting. Food was fantastic with ultra friendly and efficient service. Me and Sandy are regulars here and have really missed it throughout lockdown but it was well worth the wait. You’ve got to try here to understand just how good it is. We visited four other Indian restaurants while Akbors was closed and none of them came close. So thanks Ali and everyone for making Holly’s birthday meal such a memorable one.

So pleased our favourite restaurant has reopened. The newly completed refurb is excellent creating an elegant, relaxing atmosphere. As always, the proprieters, Ali & Raj and staff Naz and Sarah were friendly and welcoming. Food is of the highest quality, prepared and cooked by excellent Chefs, you will find it hard tobeat. Very good menu selection and very reasonable prices. We have been visiting this restaurant on a regular basis since it opened and have never been disappointed. Well done Ali & Raj, your efforts in providing memorable dining experiences are much appreciated. Here's to many more years of visiting our No 1 restaurant.

It's been nearly 9 months since our last visit with Covid and the refurbishment of the restaurant but it was worth the wait. The food is still top quality, the decor is excellent , boutique style , and the staff are wonderful and friendly. I highly recommend this authentic restaurant.

I rarely review, but "Akbor's" have provided peerless service this year. During lockdown, their weekly deliveries were a highlight, often made by Ali himself who is always punctual and ever willing to adjust dishes for particular tastes. His level of personal attention to detail and genuine interest in his clients makes the whole experience flawless.Latterly, we were delighted to join him for his reopening night. The restaurant refit has added a crisp elegance whilst retaining its customary warmth. Utterly recommended for a spice sensation!

We ordered a meal to be delivered during lockdown. It was absolutely lovely chicken korma and lamb rogan josh, full of flavour. The delivery came on time and really hot. Would definitely recommend and use this service again

Ordered a couple of takeaway meals during lockdown. The first collected and the second delivered. In both cases the service was excellent and the food fantastic. Likewise, also previously had a meal in the restaurant and the service and food was very good. You can also bring your own drinks too.

If you love Indian food then you NEED to visit Akbor's in Moreton. We are regular weekly visitors and can say every time it is spot on! You wont regret a visit to Akbor's.

Weekdays menu poppadums, any starter, any main, any rice or bread for £11.95. Best value in town. Friendly staff to greet, exceptionally attentive, food to die for. If you’re a curry lover like us and you haven’t been here yet you’re missing a trick. It’s a must.

Ali, Naz and Raj deliver a warm welcome along with great tasting quality food. Best Indian restaurant on the Wirral - as a group of 6/8 friends we are weekly visitors which says it all.

After reading reviews on here we decided to give the Sunday night buffet a try. It consists of one papadom each and relishes. A starter, main course, rice or naan bread.We chose a chicken and Aloo Chaat each followed by Chicken Buhna and a Vegetable Balti.The food was gorgeous and the service was very attentive and speedy. All this for £24. They are not licensed which is a bonus unless you want draught lagers and spirits. The decor is very minimal but whilst we were there they had at least 4 returning couples come in who were clearly on first name terms. We will return.

only had a takeaway it was very nice but a good twenty minute drive but well worth it would go again in the near future
