Fantastic meal with great service. We haven’t visited the restaurant for a couple of years and we were really impressed. Couldn’t fault a thing. We will definitely return.

Ended up with the mega kebab box. Originally ordered the combo kebab, but it didn’t state it had cheese on the website, however the gentleman said they’re going to update it, and he generously gave me a mega kebab box instead. But no harm done, as I live around the corner. It was delicious. More than enough to share between 2 or more people (I ate half and saving rest for lunch and am still full). Recommended if you don’t fancy a curry and want something different. Two samosas, two chicken (pakoras?) two bahjis, Donna in masala sauce with chips and a giant nann at the bottom. Nice with chilli sauce

We booked and paid £50 to use the room above the pub for our daughters 5th birthday in July. Turned up yesterday to put decorations etc up before the guests arrived, walked in the door by the beer garden to be met by what can only be described as what I imagine the bog of eternal stench smells like, coming out of the mens toilets. It absolutely wreaked! Then got told by the new manager, Rebecca Atherton, that she had forgotten we were coming and that there were no tables etc out and that we'd have to do it ourselves. Bit disappointing as wasn't expecting to have to lug tables and chairs round, but we did. All the tables were sticky with drinks spilled on them so had to wipe them all down as we set them up, the bar top was a mess so had to tidy that up too. No table cloths anywhere, so went down to ask for some. Was met with a look of disdain and was told I'd have to wait for her mum to bring some. The entertainer we'd booked arrived at 2.30 and was as surprised as we were that we were lugging tables round as it should have been done for us. Went back up to finish putting tables and chairs out and put our decorations round. Table cloths eventually turned up at 2.55...party started at 3. The upstairs ladies toilet was absolutely disgusting. I have attached pictures of it. Rubbish all on the floor, cubicle doors didn't click closed or lock. There was urine all over one toilet and the loo seat was actually on the floor next to the loo. Had the party, tidied up at the end and went down to speak to Rebecca about a partial refund due to the disappointing room and cleanliness issues, to be screamed at by another woman behind the bar (turns out she was Rebecca's mum, Karen). She screamed at me to f*ck off, that I'd done nothing but cause trouble and be rude to staff (which I hadnt). Told her I wasn't speaking to her and went back to speaking to Rebecca, again trying to explain why we weren't happy and again got screamed at by her mum, swearing and shouting. Rebecca's excuses for the cleanliness issues were that theyd had functions on all week, but surely the loos must get cleaned every day? Bearing in mind, my kids were with me and the pub was packed due to the England game being on. Every one was staring at us. Quite honestly, it was embarrassing that a woman in her 50s was behaving like this. I told Rebecca I'd come back after the game to speak to her on her own, to again be screamed at to f*ck off by her mum. I walked away from the bar, and one of my friends was queuing up to be served, got told by Karen that she couldn't serve her because she was shaking due to my behaviour and that she was going to kick my head in. This was infront of a bar full of people. I had people I didn't even know coming to ask if I was OK as they had seen this display at the bar and had seen I had done nothing wrong. My friend came over and told me, so I went upstairs to get the remaining things of purs from up there. As we were putting them in the car, Rebecca came out and apologised for her mums behaviour and said it was unacceptable and that nothing I had said or done had warranted that behaviour from her. I accepted the apology, and said it would be nice if her mum apologised too. My husband went back in to get the rest of our things, and was screamed at by Karen from behind the bar that she was refusing to serve us and instructed her husband to throw him out. Fortunately, her husband had seen everything that had occurred as he was sitting at the table directly in front of that bar, and didn't move. I assume he must be used to this behaviour from his wife. We left then, as did the rest of the people we were with who were going to stay for the rest of the game, but said they refused to stay somewhere that treated paying customers like that. We have been drinking in the Eagle for 13 years and I can honestly say that while these people are running it, I will not step foot back in there, and all of our guests said the same thing. The behaviour displayed was abhorrent, with no care for customers or that there were children there. Karen is lucky I'm not going to the police as there were many witnesses to her threatening me.

Our first visit but will probably be our last. The food tasted nice, and there was plenty of it. Unfortunately, there was a piece of plastic in my mashed carrots, which got stuck in my throat. We informed the young server who couldn't apologise enough and offered a free desert. I'm not sure if this can be related to the food, but my partner fell ill within a couple of hours and vomited everything up.

Took advantage of the £40 deal for 2 people offered, this included entry to club for the Rod Stewart tribute act, main meal and bottle of wine. Entertainment was great and the food was amazing. Friendly welcoming atmosphere. Thanks Ant n team, will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
